  1. This morning was driving behind a car with faulty lights. Almost hit into his rear as both his brake lights are not working. Only the small light in the centre is working. As i was switching lane, here comes another car whom also almost hit into him. Can hear the E-brake sound somemore....... My question is, can we report a person's car with faulty lights? Cos if in event that the centre light goes faulty, this car got no brake signal at all........an accident waiting to happen. Its an old model ford laser. Brown in colour, seen along Thompson Road near Sin ming road @ 8.30am.
  2. ST 16/06/2006 TOKYO - HONDA, Japan's third-biggest carmaker, said on Wednesday that it would recall more than half a million vehicles to fix a faulty ignition switch. The recall size, one of Honda's biggest, raises the question whether leading Japanese carmakers' enormous volume growth has hurt the quality of the output. Toyota, soon to overtake General Motors as the world's leading carmaker, recalled 1.88 million vehicles last year, a 30-fold increase from 2001, when just 60,000 vehicles were pulled back. Honda sold 3.39 million vehicles globally for the fiscal year that just ended, up 4.6 per cent from the previous year, reflecting the seventh consecutive year of increased vehicle sales. Honda said it would recall and repair 561,594 units of the Odyssey minivan, CR-V and Step WGN models to fix a defective ignition switch, which could cause the engine to stop. Five people in Japan suffered burns from contact with melted switches. In another case, a driver took his foot off the brake when hot solder fell on him, causing the car to bump the rear of the car ahead. The driver was not hurt. Honda said that whether to recall those vehicles - exported to the United States, Canada, Australia, Singapore and elsewhere - would be decided in accordance with each country's system for handling automotive defects. Honda said the recalls and repairs would cost it 2.73 billion yen (S$38 million). -- FINANCIAL TIMES, ASSOCIATED PRESS

  5. Toyota to recall 173,000 vehicles in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia TOKYO Faulty brake and fuel systems is forcing Toyota to recall about 173-thousand vehicles in Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. The Japanese automaker says it's aware of one accident in Japan that had been caused by a defect in the brake's master cylinders. A car was unable to stop and crashed into another vehicle in front of it. There were no injuries. Another defect is in a part called the O-ring in the fuel system. The recalls affect vehicles made between September 2003 and February of this year. http://www.woodtv.com/global/story.asp?s=3...tType=Printable

    Faulty Optra

Hi all, me again. I just try to drive the Optra again since my old man said that can start. I try to start again, it did start but it struggle to start. How can a new car of 9mths running just past 6200km can have this problem???? If it's the battery, then the car will not start at all..... why is the car be able to start sometimes (but really struggle to start) and sometimes can't even start??? My old man said that must step on accelerator (manual Optra) so that car can start, i told him, hey, this is a new car not an old coe car, sometimes when i drive his car, just turn ignition and will start not like now have to struggle to start. When my father park the car, he like to enage to 1st gear, anyone think this is the correct way? Anyway, 1st thing tomorrow morning will call SA and just now sms my SE did not even reply me.......... Can anyone advise or any Optra Manual owner here care to share?
