  1. Hi Everyone! Music is a form of communication that transcends language. It is one of my favourite things and life without music would have NO MEANING ! Now, there are too many genres out there, and it would be impractical to list 'em all in this poll, but I have tried to make each category as broad as possible. Please vote on your fave and let us know, in your chosen genre, which is: 1) Your Fave Band/Singer of ALL TIME 2) Fave Song/s from that Band/Singer 3) Other favourites of yours (music, bands, songs etc...) Many Thanks & Regards!
  2. I just wanna recommend Singapore Dreaming to people who have yet to watch it. I watched it in 2006 on an SQ flight and loved it. It moved me to bits. I've been scouring VCD/DVD stores around Singapore so that I can sink whatever amount to own a copy of the DVD. No luck. Had to resort to renting it from VideoEzy. Boy the second time was as good as the first. It's such a good show. Acting was sterling, shots were sublime. If you haven't watched it, then you're missing out. I'm in no way affiliated to anyone invested in the film. I'm just a huge fan, and I realised that quite a few of my friends haven't watched it. It would be such as a waste for anyone to not see this film - one that is so moving a portrayal of the trials and tribulations of the average Singaporean. Watch it and tell me what you think. :)
  3. Dear all, feel free, kindly provide your valuable vote many thanks
  4. Mythbusters is my all time favourite. Never thought a show so boliao can be so educational. I also like Dogfights but they are too US-centric. Everytime is the Americans win.
  5. With all the unhappiness with the gahmen on issues like security, ERPs, food prices, etc.. There must be a lot of you who have some gripes with the MIW. On the flip side, who in Parliament do you NOT dislike? For starters, I like S Iswaran (Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry). The Minister of F1 and Rice. Find nothing to dislike him...for now.
  6. Hi all Thinking of going in Monday night 9pm plus to pump jaybee petrol. Can share your favourite route? Is the caltex station before the railway station the best spot? I just wanna go in pump petrol then come back spore.

  9. Planning to get a car. Comparing four low FC car. Getting some feedback on these four cars. 1. Latio auto (~ SGD 59k) 2. City I-DSI ABS (never ask, SGD 63.5k fr sgcarmart) 3. Sirion manual (~ SGD 50k) 4. Toyota Vios manual (~ SGD 54k fr sgcarmart) Most likely, deciding between 1 and 3 (felt City is a bit pricy, Vios rear seats cannot fold down for manual model.) Currently, Sirion is most favoured Good: cheapest and with manual model, with best FC. Bad: No/Little boot space, worry about servicing and reliability. Need expert views on the following to sway me towards or away from Sirion. 1. Maintenance cost (Sirion servicing expensive?) 2. Reliability of Engine Is Sirion
  10. OK, those who supported the Chinese Pop Boys Band in the 1980s, there were quite a few. But which is your favourite? Let's poll

  16. DO you have that one song that you will play on your funeral? the one song that represents your life? What's yours? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rLgr1eyKXc Through The Barricades (5:56) Mother doesnt know where love has gone She says it must be youth That keeps us feeeling strong See it in her face, thats turned to ice And when she smiles she shows The lines of sacrifice And now I know what theyre saying When the sun begins to fade And we made our love on wasteland And through the barricades Father made my history He fought for what he thought Would set us somehow free He tought me what to say in school I learned off by heart But now thats torn in two And now I know what theyre saying In the music of the parade We made our love on wasteland And through the barricades Born on different sides of life We feel the same And feel all of this strife So come to me when Im asleep Well cross the line And dance upon the street And now I know what theyre saying When the drums begin to fade We made our love on wasteland And through the barricades Oh, turn around and Ill be there Theres a scar through my heart But Ill bare it again I thought? we were the human race But we were just another border-line-case And the stars reach down and tell us That theres always one escape I dont know where love has gone And in this trouble land Desperation keep us strong Fridays child is full of soul With nothing left to lose Theres everything to go And now I know what theyre are saying Its a terrible beauty weve made So we make our love on? wasteland And through the barricades Now I know what theyre are saying As hearts go to their graves We made our love on? wasteland And through the barricades. What Spandau Ballet are doing in
  17. This is mine: Finally found it on YouTube. The video is nothing to shout about but the song is really good. The lyrics is really meaningful. For those who can understand chinese only. Please listen to the song if you can spare some time.
  18. Ok guys, i know this may have been asked before but since there may be some new members to this forum and new cars that came into the market recently, i felt that it's appropriate for me to raise this question again. It can be your dream car, your next car, cars that you've owned or drove before, old or new. BUT ONLY CHOOSE ONE I'll start the ball rolling: E46 BMW M3
  19. Let poll for Beng car? IMHO, Mit Lancer is the king now. Used to be Civic.
  20. Look at the high resale of a Toyota Corolla, commanding a S$7K premium over a similar capacity Nissan Sunny. I suppose there is a reason why Toyota is still the favourite amongst car buyers, even there has been reports of about the inferior quality of Thai assembled examples. And the top man at Toyota Japan has also admitted that there has been some slip shot in built quality in their drive to produce more cars. *All prices based on $101 COE cars 5/01 Corolla 1.6A - $34.8K http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2fMCYx2I-1062.html 5/01 Sunny 1.6A - $27.8K http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2fMCvuot-1198.html 5/01 Sunny 1.6M - $26.5K http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2fMCfM3l-1035.html 5/01 Daewoo Lanos 1.6M - $19.8K http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2fMuXL2z-1073.html
  21. an article on toyota corolla (sucessful but boring). sorry for the lengthy article. It's anonymous, unambitious and totally lacking in personality. But in its 40-year lifespan more than 32 million Toyota Corollas have left the production line - making it the biggest-selling car of all time. Now, the company that put Japanese motors on the map is to consign its most famous model to the scrapheap. Sean O'Grady celebrates the Corolla's charmless appeal, and owners from around the world describe their lives behind its wheel No son ever begged his dad to buy a Toyota Corolla. No one ever put a poster of the Corolla on their bedroom wall. For petrolheads the world over, the Corolla has always been the ultimate anti-car car, if not the anti-Christ. Judged against the more interesting machinery available at the time it was launched, in 1966, it was dull indeed. By comparison with the Mini, say, or the Citro
