Hi all out there, I am tasked to help my in law change his corolla G9 battery to dry battery. I suppose it is maintenance free type after looking through past threads? Maintenance free = totally dry battery with no liquid inside the battery? Can anyone reccommend any brand and where i can change it? Thanks!

Hi guys, my aveo has a maintenance free battery which does not have any indicator to show batt cond ie like a small led to show green or red light. Has anyone gone back to SA and ask for a batt replacement to one that has indicator. Without the indicator, there is no way we can check and know cond until the car kaput or when SA tells us at svc. We all know how little they tell us at svcs, right?

Taken from todays ST paper.... Why no free parking on Saturdays I REFER to the letter, 'Review Saturday carpark charges' (ST, Sept 30), by Mr Danny Tan. HDB carparks are provided primarily to serve the residents. Residential carparks are usually heavily utilised on weekends. Waiving parking charges for non-residents during this period, when demand is at its peak, would result in congestion in the carpark and deprive residents of their parking lots. Hourly parking charges help to regulate demand and ensure that residents need not compete with visitors. As many families get together during weekends and public holidays, HDB has implemented the Free Parking Scheme (FPS) for Sundays and public holidays (from 7am to 10.30pm) to promote social interaction and foster family ties. About 1,450 out of the 1,800 HDB carparks are under the FPS. The suitability of a carpark for FPS is assessed in consultation with the local grassroots organisations and the Land Transport Authority. One main consideration is whether FPS will compromise the parking needs of the residents. HDB has received feedback similar to Mr Tan's suggestion on free parking on Saturdays and are monitoring the situation and reviewing the arrangement to see how it can be improved. Okie....my story Morning Called SA to ask about my vibration thingy from the floor...felt it from the seat too. Was told to go down this Sat. So I am going down to check. Before this, I told the guy that my next servicing is at 11k or 14 Feb 05. He said cannot be cos it's too long. I told him that I changed to synthetic oil at my 1k servicing and the sticker on the windscreen states that. He said the sticker only state the milage for oil change and not servicing. I must go back at 5k for the 5k free servicing. I told him cannot be what...the sticker says 11k. He said that I should go back at 5k, if not they will void the 5k free serving if I go back at 11k That means to say I die die must go for my servicing at the 5k and 10k to get the free servicing. Evening I took a look at the sticker. It says next servicing at 11k I will make a complain to SA this sat. They can't just void people's free servicing when they use the synthetic oil....

Synthetic engine oil cxxxxxe 5W-40 for $35.90 for 5l IMO very cheap with the rating of ACEA A3 good buy indeed. Just want to share info. Me buy one eventhough servicing not near cannot resist such offer. Anyway any other offer can beat this bargain..do share? -

Hi Guys, I have just changed new tyres and now have 2 used yokohama aspect dB to be given away (but your appreciation in kind will be appreciated lah ).... they've still got about 8-10months life left if you dun really drive very hard... the size is 225/55-17.... please PM me for discussion... cheers

Has anyone tried to increase the tyre pressure a bit, lets say, by 3 psi and see what's the fuel consumption is like? Came back from Desaru on 31/8/03 and as usual, when I go on long drives, I increase my tyre pressure from 33psi to 36psi. I will usually bleed the pressure down to 33 upon returning to SG but this time I didn't. The surprise is that when I fill up yesterday, my fuel consumption is 11.3! My last consumption figure before the trip was 10.2. Carbon clearing may have played a part but I believe a higher tyre pressure does play a significant part!

I've the original battery from Honda and it is supposed to be maintenance free. However, on the battery, there is a window which says that IF I see BLUE, it's ok. If I see red, it needs to be topped up with battery water ! Recently, I vaguely sees a bit of red, so am wonder if I am supposed to "add battery water" to the maintenance free battery ? BTW, the battery top up holes are covered (as usual) and there's a tape that "loosely seal them up" .... Just wondering. -
Hi guyz, do you know how to check if a battery is maintenance free or not? I changed about 1/2 year ago, being topping up regularly by the month, but got a funny feeling it is maintenance free...(can shot me if you want cuz I have no idea about batteries) The brand of the battery is Mareg Die Batterie, the guy who installed it only tell me make in Germany....he also blur blur
