They will instead have to undergo four Covid-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, including one to be taken before the flight. It will be the first time residents can go for quarantine-free leisure travel since the Republic shuts its borders in March last year. The development comes after Singapore on Thursday (Aug 19) announced a new scheme in which it unilaterally opens it borders to vaccinated travellers from selected countries, starting with Germany and Brunei. With Germany already unilaterally opening its border to Singapore, those travelling on designated flights from Singapore will be able to fly to Germany and return without having to be quarantined. The incident shows the dangers of giving alcohol to a baby, even in tiny amounts. According to an article on Sin Chew Daily on 12 July 2019, the incident happened in Beijing, China. Many friends and relatives had turned up at the baby's full month celebration, which is traditionally held to bless the child and celebrate the arrival of a new member of the family. The child's paternal grandfather was apparently carrying him when he proposed a toast to his relatives. Things took a rather weird turn when one of the relatives joked that the grandfather couldn't drink if the baby didn't drink. The grandfather fell for the taunt, he grabbed a cup of alcohol and gave the baby a sip, to "save his face". When the child's mother got to know what had happened, she was furious. She grabbed her baby back into her arms. But the damage had been done. The baby became breathless after just 30 minutes. He was rushed to the hospital, but hospital staff were unable to save the little one. Doctors found out that, the cause of the child's death was alcohol poisoning. "Babies cannot drink alcohol, how can you treat a child's life as if it's a joke?" they asked the grandfather. It has been reported that the baby's heartbroken mum was unable to believe what had happened, and she slapped her father-in-law multiple times. Apparently, the mum had been ill-treated by her in-laws previously, because she was unable to conceive even after 3 years of marriage. Things got better only after she was blessed with a baby boy. Fate though had other plans. According to a report by Dr Taylor McCormick (Department of Emergency Medicine, Los Angeles County & University of Southern California Medical Center), babies appear to metabolise alcohol faster than adults. Alcohol affects the central nervous system. Children's bodies absorb alcohol quickly, and this can occur in less than 30 minutes. Symptoms of alcohol poisoning in babies can include difficulty breathing, reduced activity, and seizures. Some studies have also found a risk for low blood sugar. The long-term effects on the baby are unclear. However, breathing difficulties could deprive the baby's brain of oxygen, possibly causing brain damage. In the case of breastfeeding mothers, the CDC recommends that not drinking alcohol is the safest option. Generally, moderate alcohol consumption by a breastfeeding mother (up to 1 standard drink per day) is not known to be harmful to the infant. However, the mother should wait for at least 2 hours after a single drink before breastfeeding her baby. Breast milk will contain alcohol as long as alcohol is still in the mother's bloodstream. Alcohol levels are usually highest in breast milk 30-60 minutes after alcohol is consumed. The length of time alcohol can be detected in breast milk will increase the more alcohol a mother consumes. For example, alcohol from 1 drink can be detected in breast milk for about 2-3 hours, alcohol from 2 drinks can be detected for about 4-5 hours, and alcohol from 3 drinks can be detected for about 6-8 hours, and so on. Exposure to alcohol above moderate levels through breast milk can damage an infant's development, growth, and sleep patterns. High alcohol consumption can also impair a mother's judgment and ability to safely care for her child. Over time, excessive alcohol consumption can also lead to decreased milk production. I advocate Taxi/PHV should be regulated to have equipped with a minimum in-car safety standard. To me, it is their very basic social responsibility to make sure the car is as safe as possible. As public transport, shouldn't they have responsibility to the safety for their passengers? Everytime a taxi/PHV involved in an accident, the driver is the only one responsible. Shouldn't the Taxi/PHV rental companies have responsibility? Full spec SRS is the most basic one. Why they are not equipped with full SRS specs? Are they really not affordable with Singapore standard of living? Most passengers sit at the back seat. Curtain airbags could have saved life and avoid serious injuries, including the Commonwealth Avenue West accident at 19 Apr 2018, should the taxi was equipped with curtain airbag. (To the victim family, Sorry to bring up this painful lost. My thought is with the young lady. My intention is to do something to prevent similar incident in future.)

The bins, called Bigbelly bins, have an internal compactor to crunch rubbish and can handle about five times more trash than another of a similar size. They have an enclosed design that prevents scavengers, pests and odours, and are connected wirelessly for easy monitoring and management. Once the bin is full, its sensors will detect and send, via 3G, email or text message alerts to the mobile phones of cleaners. Because they work on solar energy, the bins have no cabling. The solar panels power an internal battery that drives the compaction mechanism, internal sensors and the communication module. A fully charged battery can power the bin for about three months without sunlight.

When the victim collapsed on the ground, the attacker dug out his heart and intestines. An argument over a bowl of noodles ended up with the most gruesome of murders. A 39-year-old boat owner with the surname Ma spotted a 40-year-old fisherman enjoying a bowl of noodles for breakfast on Wednesday (June 25) at a shop in Suizhou, in China's Hubei province. For reasons unknown, the pair started arguing over the dish, which cost 5 yuan (S$1), reported Shanghaiist. Chinese website Bastille Post reported that Ma suddenly picked up a watermelon knife and slashed at the victim's neck. Blood started flowing from the wound and the victim collapsed on the ground. But what came next was even more horrifying. Ma used the knife to cut open the man's chest and dig out his heart. He then put the heart in his mouth and started biting it. The attacker, however, was not done. He used the knife to cut open the chest further and removed the man's intestines. Horrified witnesses watched from a distance, with none daring to approach Ma. The attacker did not leave the scene after the attack. Instead, he paced up and down while biting the heart, before pausing to sit down at the scene. Anyway know based on the above condition. What could be wrong? I have been experienced some sort of grinding noise around the front area of my vehicle upon steering when I'm moving of my carpark lot usually full lock steering. This only happens when moving off and not an issue when moving or parking into a lot. It only happens when I just did my vehicle alignment few days ago..

I have always like WP7/WP8 phones as extremely easy to work with metro tiles to make phone calls, write sms, take picture, etc, etc. Especially for older folks who just want someone SIMPLE. About 69 per cent of used cars eligible for full loans have been sold as of 27 May since authorities lifted borrowing limits for buying those cars for 60 days. This concession will last till Tuesday. Motor firms are bracing for uncertainty thereafter. Dealers whom Channel NewsAsia spoke with expect the market to be even quieter, with car loan curbs in full force. To help used car dealers clear old stock acquired before new borrowing restrictions were introduced, a two-month concession was given. This meant that buyers could continue taking up to 100 per cent loan for vehicle purchases. The concession applied to some 7,000 used cars. Over 4,800 have been sold so far. Classic Credit had around 180 vehicles from old stock. About 170 have been sold, but customers remain cautious. Andy Ong, sales consultant at Classic Credit, said: "It all depends, you see, on the customer preference - what they want. Because mostly for used cars, they are going for those budget cars. Talking about high-end, they should rather go for the new cars right? Because those people are those well-to-do families." i wanted to double check with you bros if the outsourced HDB carpark . especially those with electronic signboard will 1) allow you entry even when full house? 2) allow entry and will display/notify you to exit carpark within 10 mins etc.. Kena a parking ticket at the NEX bus interchange HDB carpark.. Carpark FULL house.. still able to admit entry.. i dont recall there was any notification to exit by xx mins since FULL.. PArk at the yellow lines since so many cars all do the same... came back after dinner... the whole stretch of cars all kena !!!! WOW sia, extra income for HDB.. since i am paying for the carpark fee still kena summon.. si bei suay leh.. unless i didnt pay parking then i would lan lan pay for the summon..

Family of dead Ferrari driver sues insurers AXA Singapore had told Mr Ma's family that the crash was a "collision", not an accident. Tue, Aug 14, 2012; AsiaOne The wife and mother left behind by deceased Ferrari driver Ma Chi are taking the vehicle's insurers to court after the companies said they intend to withdraw coverage for the deadly crash. The Straits Times reported insurers AXA Singapore had told Mr Ma's family that was a "collision", not an accident. What this means in the insurance industry is that the driver was aware that his actions would cause an accident, thereby voiding the insurers' liability to make a payout. Mr Ma's family wants the High Court to reject this finding by suing the insurers. The lawsuit is believed to be the first such reported case in Singapore and is becoming a public interest issue as to how accidents are treated as "collisions", under which an insurer can reject liability. The accident in May left three, including Mr Ma, dead and two others injured. He had allegedly run a red light, crashed into a taxi, which then hit a motorcycle. According to The Straits Times, AXA first informed the Ma family of its decision last month. In the same month, the family had replied that they disagree with AXA's position. The company then responded by asking the family not to liquidate any of Mr Ma's assets, and said the case should be arbitrated. AXA also asked the family to supply a list of his other assets. Wendell Wong, lawyer for the Ma family, then filed a suit asking the High Court to rule that the crash was indeed an accident and not a "collision" as claimed by AXA. The family released a statement on Monday, "It is not an easy decision but the family feels that we need to seek the assistance of the Singapore courts as the insurer made the decision to repudiate liability first.
