Was very very lucky this morning around 6.35am whilst waiting at a traffic light junction below CTE and Lor Chuan. Was coming from TP and on the way to pickup a colleague at Lor Chuan and the traffic light was 'red'. While waiting for light to turn green, a sudden bright flash beside my vehicle and followed by one very loud bang (thunder). Not the normal rolling thunder sound but one big bang. My car got jerk and I was stunned for a second. Suddenly the traffic lights were 'red' in all directions and vehicles stopped at all side. Without second thought (as all cars stopped), I move off first cos for that junction, very heavy vehicle traffic coming from CTE to Braddell. Upon reaching Australian International School, I stopped my vehicle and feeling cold sweat on my palms. I reliased that I just escape death by a meer 3 meters when the lightning striked beside my vehicle. It took me 2 minutes to recover along Lor Chuan and proceed with my journey. Things happen so fast and I drag to think of the incident at Rochor where 3 lives were taken away in seconds. As the saying goes "Ta Nan Pu Shi, Pi Yu Hou Fu".

We have the topic by cook1234 about the nicest plate we have come across. What about the most expensive plate we have heard about to be transacted in Singapore? Singapore is a small island with many wealthy people and many multimillionaires. Certainly most of the rich care about 'face'. <In March 1997, two brothers went to the High Court to claim for the right to car licence plate S333P. But the case was dismissed the case as LTA rules do not allow numbers to be transferred. Experts valued that the plate could be worth $150k.> If 15 years ago, S333P is worth 150K, could it be be worth say 5 times the price now? Anyone have any real experience to share? -

Hi all, i have noticed that my car would emit soft squeaking sound when driving off after a cold start and traveling at low speed (10 - 15km/h). I can't really describe the sound but it is like 2 pcs of metal rubbing against each other. mine is disc brake for the front and drum for the rear, had nvr changed my bake pad for 4 yrs at 58K mileage currently. I also notice my rotor has some scratches. Is it brake pad gone already? thanks in advance

Hi, Was quoted $110 for firenza sumo 16" tyre (made in china) for my ride, and my fren was quoted $130 for his WanLi 17" tyre (made in china). Anyone heard of the 2 brands? is it cheap? Care to share some comments???

Hi to all MCF bro , i would like to ask all bros of MCF if you have heard of or know of this company VS Global Pte Ltd . The reason i am asking is that i have just received a mail with a $110 cheque from VS Global Pte Ltd issued to my name as in NRIC . What puzzled me most is that i have never heard or has any dealing with whoever are they ???? I have gone to Yahoo , Google and all possible way of finding who there are but all came to nothing . Hope some bros of MCF have come across or heard of this company and help me shed some light on this matter . Thanks and Cheers

Just in on Bloomberg. Qantas QF32 (A380) had engine problem (suspected engine explosion) and witnesses on ground heard explosions. It was reported to have crashed in Batam but official report says it is dumping fuel over Indonesia before attempting an emergency landing in Singapore. ETA 45 mins

hi bros... actually i am 'enquiring' about 2 brands of engine oil & am seeking your comments on them if you have heard or tried them or hv frds who hv tried them...... thanks! 1) SCHELL or smthing... logo got a turtle.. 5W/40 made in Germany sold at Giant... fully syn. think its $39.90 but occassionally i see it at $29.90... for 4liters... actually packaging looks 10times better than c-----e... 2) bio ray engine oil... seems to have wonderful claims that its better then fully syn oil... invented by a local chemist... saw the banner in Defu lane10... got special offer for 1st time users... also saw threads here on this but no FRs leh... anybody knows anything abt it? -
