  1. Lol was driving my car to work. Then on the xoressway slip road started hearing this grinding racket. First thought is I got a flat again and the rim is scrapping the floor. Reached work but no flat. Nothing dragging from under carriage. Racket continuous as long as wheels are running. Lol sounds horrible. Gotta go work shop tomorrow.
  2. TL;DR – We see seven vehicles involved In yet another massive chain collision on the PIE. Footage of the aftermath shows a Harrier resting on top of a Prius. The first half of the day saw many news reports and posts about this accident that happened along lane 1 of the PIE. Channel News Asia The Straits Times Tik Tok You can watch the vido of the aftermath on Tik Tok. Facebook Or you can watch it on Facebook (courtesy of Roads.SG) 7 Vehicles involved Besides the obvious Toyota Harrier sitting on top of the Toyota Prius, we also spot 2 Honda Vezels, a Strides Taxi, a blueSG car and what seems to be an Audi A3. How the Harrier ended on top of the Prius is definitely a huge question mark for everyone. Hopefully, someone will post the footage of the actual accident soon and I’ll update the article. Injuries and arrests It’s reported that five people were injured, two of which were sent to the hospital while the other three declined to go to the hospital. Additionally, a 38-year-old man was arrested for suspected drink driving (Source: The Straits Times) Online Chatter I think you drive anywhere also there’s always a chance of an accident occurring. Always keep a safe distance from the car in front of you and look out for idiot drivers. This person might have a point somewhere. I would like to know as well. blueSG, care to comment? I try to steer clear away from blueSG cars when I see them on the road. Not all of them, but most of them drive like they don’t want to see tomorrow. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 3. Came across this on Kah Motor's page. Not a sponsored post btw. Looking at the cost I must say it is pretty steep for a 4D3N to Genting and Malacca. Tempted to ask "Price inclusive of petrol?" 😆 I did a quick check on Genting SkyWorlds Hotel for the 3rd of June (Friday) and it is in the range of SGD 250 onwards per room for one night. I usually book budget ones like First World Hotel. Nevertheless, I see the appeal of such planned road trips for families with young kids. Good initiative by Kah Motor. If you're not a Kah Motor customer, you can rent a car from them at these package rates. To register: https://bit.ly/3ruJKus
  4. I think this van has more personality than the Suzuki Every. What do you all think? Engine manufacturer: Honda S07B-series Traction: FWD (front-wheel drive) Fuel system: gasoline indirect injection Charge system: turbocharger Additional features: PGM-FI; intercooler; turbo; DOHC Start-Stop system Cylinders alignment: Line 3 Horsepower net: 47 kW / 64 PS / 63 hp (JIS net) / 6000 Torque net: 104 Nm / 77 ft-lb With 104nm of torque, I think this is way good enough for SG traffic. Plus there is honda sensing. A very well specs Kei car!
  5. The new model seems to be targeting at Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento, basing on its size. And should be a proper 7 seater SUV since Japanese is typically better with space utilisation.
  6. Want to see the shocking moment when a Honda Civic driver abruptly swerves between lanes on the causeway resulting in an accident? Watch the video below! This driver has managed to do it all. After realizing he was going into the wrong lane, this 'gundu' swerved abruptly into a bus after forgetting to check his blind spot. One really wonders how he managed to get his license. The bus was pushed off course in which the Civic driver then managed to hit both the road divider AND almost crash into a motorcyclist after abruptly swerving back into his original lane again. It almost takes a certain type of talent to mess up this badly After being hit by the debris of his mistake, the motorcyclist seems to start scolding the driver of the Honda Civic, as he probably should. Netizens chime in with their own take of the incident, criticizing and mocking the driver as well as expressing concern for the motorcyclist’s safety. What is your take on this incident? Have you ever personally encountered a reckless driver on the road? ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 7. The number 1 rule before reversing your car is to always check clear your rear and blindspots before proceeding. Lazy to do so? Then get yourself a rear reverse camera, or you will be like this guy: IMG_7646.MP4 What Happened? I am sure we have all been stuck at the gantry for some reasons (Eg. Insufficient funds in cashcard, problem detecting your car's IU). And that was what happened to this particular Honda Civic driver - he got stuck at the carpark gantry. After what seemed like an eternity and having no luck in exiting from the gantry, the Honda driver decided to reverse out of the carpark gantry. However, this was where this 'Bodoh Kambing' screws up by not checking his rear and began reversing. The motorcyclist attempted to 'siam' the Honda by back-paddling but to no avail. Eventually, the Honda Civic hits the motorcycle. NGL, this is easily one of the most ridiculous accidents that could occur. Netizens' Comments Unpopular Opinion: Anyone can obtain their driver's license, but not everyone (with a driver's license) should be driving on the road. 👏 Whether the motorcyclist is in the yellow box or not, the Honda driver should have simply turned his head to check clear - nuff said. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 8. Hi MCFers, I am driving a Civic and was wondering where you guys do your servicing. I have been to Kah motors religiously but think I can probably save quite a fair bit outside, does anyone have any recommendations? BTW my servicing is 40K, car is about 1 yr 2mths. Thanks in advance!!
  9. https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Automobiles/Honda-startup-to-introduce-three-wheel-electric-scooter?utm_campaign=GL_one_time&utm_medium=email&utm_source=NA_newsletter&utm_content=article_link&del_type=3&pub_date=20220619093000&seq_num=17&si=44594 Honda startup to introduce three-wheel electric scooter Striemo eyes Europe in 2023 after Japan debut this year Striemo Chief Executive Yotaro Mori demonstrates his company's new 3-wheel electric scooter in Wako City, Saitama Prefecture, on June 13. (Photo by Shizuka Tanabe) SHIZUKA TANABE, Nikkei staff writerJune 13, 2022 21:23 JST TOKYO -- Honda Motor subsidiary Striemo announced on Monday its entry into the electric three-wheel scooter market. A startup in Honda's business creation program, Striemo unveiled its eponymous new electric scooter at a press conference. The company has begun taking preorders online from individuals for a limited 300 units at 260,000 yen ($1,900). The Striemo weighs 20 kilograms and can travel 30 kilometers on a charge. The driver operates the accelerator and brake manually, and can make the vehicle turn by shifting his or her weight as if skiing. The three-wheelers are due to go on sale in Japan before the end of this year, and in Europe in 2023. Under the Japanese law, riders are required to have a Class 1 motorized bicycle license and wear a helmet when riding such machines on public roads. For corporate customers, Striemo will offer by the end of 2022 a subscription system to use the electric scooter off public roads in places like factories and universities. In April this year, the law was revised and this will allow the electric scooters access to public roads without a driver's license within two years. At a press conference, Striemo Chief Executive Yotaro Mori anticipated market expansion. "The legal revision will further increase demand," he said. In order to comply with the revised law, the company intends to develop new models equipped with mirrors, turn signals and indicators that display speeds to pedestrians. The electric scooter market is dominated by startup companies at the moment, but major car manufacturers are looking to compete by applying safety technologies evolved from motorcycle and car manufacture.
  10. With this, is Sony signalling to the world its intention to venture into EV manufacturing?
  11. Personally, I strictly employ the 2-second rule, especially during heavy (heavier) traffic and wet weather. The extra distance and time provided by the 2-second rule will be crucial for you to react accordingly when the car in front of you performs an abrupt brake. Watch what happens when one doesn't leave a safe distance from the car ahead: What Happened? A total of 14 vehicles were involved in 3 clusters of accidents along lane 1 of the PIE, with two clusters being multiple chain collisions. According to the dashcam footage, both the chain collisions seemed to have occurred just moments earlier. The first cluster This was most likely the cause of the subsequent accidents. It involved 3 cars: A Toyota Prius A Toyota Vios A Mazda CX-3 The second cluster The most 'rabak' out of the three, involved a total of 8 cars and a mini-van. The 8 cars consists of: A Nissan Sylphy A Hyundai Elantra A Toyota Corolla Altis A Toyota Wish A Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class A Mercedes-Benz C180 Two unidentifiable cars that were squashed against the concrete barrier The final cluster The dashcam footage captured the last accident or final cluster, which involved 2 cars: A Honda Civic An Audi TT Unfortunately, despite being able to brake in time due to the ample safety distance ahead of him, the Honda Civic still got rear-ended pretty hard by the Audi TT. The impact of the collision caused the Honda Civic to surge several metres ahead. The 2-Second Rule Could the 2-second rule taught to us in driving school prevent this series of accidents? Possibly, if each driver practices this rule - Take a look at the Honda Civic that managed to stop in time with the 2-second rule employed by the driver. I am certain that with the 2-second rule, there would be fewer cars involved in the massive chain collision due to the added time and distance for each driver to react accordingly. Netizens' Comments I hope this clears up the confusion on why the Honda Civic was flashing his high beam at the cam car. I also wonder why🤔 Well, that escalated! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  12. This has to be one of the most unique, one-of-a-kind accident you would have ever seen before. The aftermath of the accident might even be meme-worthy. Watch it here: What Happened? The accident occurred at around 7am, at Hougang Avenue 1. As the morning traffic started forming at a red light, a BMW 520i driver decided to perform an abrupt lane change from lane 1 (go straight/turn right lane) to lane 2 (go straight-only lane). Despite an oncoming Toyota Corolla approaching, the BMW driver insisted on squeezing through and changing lanes. Unfortunately, the Toyota Corolla driver was either not paying attention, not practising defensive driving, or simply not fully awake. And needless to say, the BMW and Toyota collided with each other. The BMW driver decided to react by swerving to the right for some reason. And as a result, the BMW grazed the side of a Honda Civic that was in front of it. The back-to-back accidents left all 3 cars perfectly aligned in a straight line, entirely blocking off other motorists from passing through. The jam must have been so bad at this junction, considering the morning jam + the jam caused by this accident. And also, can I just point out how bad I feel for the Honda Civic driver, who was patiently waiting at the traffic light but got implicated in this accident? Netizens' Comments I would love to watch him crawl out from the boot! I can totally imagine this😆 Helicopter helicopter~ ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 13. Have you heard of the domino effect? According to Google, it is referred to as "the cumulative effect produced when one event sets off a chain of similar events". Watch the domino effect in action here: What Happened? A Honda Shuttle and a tipper truck slammed into each other as they decided to switch lanes simultaneously. The collision caused major damage to the Honda Shuttle, leaving it with a pretty wrecked rear with a shattered window. Debris also flew into the adjacent lanes, which caused a grey Honda Civic to jam brake on lane 2 of the expressway to avoid some pieces of small debris. As a result of the Honda Civic's emergency brake, a Kia Cerato Forte Koup behind it could not brake in time and rear-ended the Honda Civic. The rear-ending seemed pretty intense as the Honda Civic rolled several metres forward, despite its brakes being applied. Needless to say, the accident left the front bumper of the Kia a complete wreck too. Netizens' Comments The biker is very lucky. And kudos to him for remaining so calm! IMO, the Honda Civic driver most likely panicked and performed an e-brake. I am confused.... ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  14. This incident was so intense that it kept my eyes peeled on the screen for the entire duration of the video. Watch this attempted hit and run here: What Happened? This incident occurred at Woodlands Avenue 1. While at a red light, a Honda Airwave emerged from behind but could not brake in time. And as a result, he rear-ended a stationary motorcyclist. Another motorcyclist dismounted and came forward to check on the motorcyclist who had just been hit. At this point, a left-turn only arrow flashed and the taxi in front of the cam car drove off, leaving a gap between the cam car and the Honda Airwave. Having spotted the opportunity to flee, the Honda Airwave driver decided to make the run for it. The cam car driver sounded and honked to alert both motorcyclists about it in response. You could tell how nervous the cam car driver was - he managed to honk until his car's honk got stuck (which caused some unnecessary honking throughout the video) and his accidental wiper spray and wipe. Having realised the Honda Airwave was making a run for it, the good Samaritan motorcyclist hopped onto his bike and sped after the Honda driver, revving the hell out of his motorcycle! The cam car driver and the motorcyclist caught up with the Honda Airwave driver within seconds. What happens after this remains unknown, but the traffic police were likely to be called in. Netizens' Comments 👏👏👏 Cam driver panic lah... HAHAHHA LOL. This comment made me laugh! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  15. It is not every day you get to see the legendary Mercedes G63 in Singapore. And it is even rarer to see one involved in an accident. Watch it here: What Happened? A Mercedes G63 and a Volkswagen Transporter 'chiong-ed' along Yishun Ave 8 upon the red traffic light signal turning green. Its 4.0-Litre Bi-Turbocharged V8 engine and all-wheel-drive drivetrain instantly picked up speed. Directly behind the G-wagon was the Volkswagen Transporter. Although the specs of the Volkswagen Transporter is not anywhere near the G-wagon, it is still pretty decent (2.0-Litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged paired to a 7-speed DCT transmission). And surprisingly, the Volkswagen Transporter was hot on the G-wagon's heels (Yes, I know. The G63 driver probably did not step hard on the accelerator). As they approached a red light, the G63 driver could not react in time and slammed hard into a stationary Honda Vezel. The impact was forceful enough to push the Honda SUV across the stop line. Some debris were also scattered across the road due to the accident. And yes. Both cars' repair costs are just going to be loose change to the G-wagon driver. Netizens' Comments Its not about the equipment, its about the driver🙂 This is prove that money can't buy skills! Speeding in a G63 is not satki anymore. There's a time and place for everything. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  16. Just launched. Looks like Honda has really lost their way in the design. This looks like a Sonata or Elantra.
  17. Hi All,already on the way to be the owner of Brand new Honda Shuttle 2021.. anything to diacuss under the cloud?..Your concerns will be my best appreciation..thanks🤗
  18. It can be pretty tempting to take shortcuts in an empty carpark to get to that available parking lot or to exit the carpark. After all, who wants to 'waste' time and petrol by making one big round around the carpark to exit the carpark, right? Unfortunately, this motorcyclist took a shortcut down the carpark and learned his lesson the unpleasant way: What Happened? A motorcyclist decided to take a shortcut down the multi-storey carpark (MSCP) by going against the traffic flow and driving down the MSCP slope. Just then, a Honda Civic drove up the slope, and both vehicles almost got involved in a head-on collision with each other. Both vehicles came to an immediate halt on the slope. And needless to say, the Honda Civic did not budge one bit. As a result, the motorcyclist was forced to 'reverse' from the slope. He and his pillion rider subsequently dismounted to manually 'reverse' the motorcycle. What was going through his head? The shortcut performed was a mindless, convenient solution for the motorcyclist to save time and petrol. Little did he know, by doing so jeopardises his life as well as his pillion rider's life. Imagine if both vehicles were unable to brake in time; the outcome for the motorcyclist would be exceptionally undesirable for him. He would undoubtedly regret performing such an act to save that mere few seconds of his time. Hopefully, the motorcyclist learns his lesson from this near miss incident. Netizens' Comments You know what's worst? I encountered a lorry taking a shortcut before🙃 Only those who are guilty of performing such shortcuts will post this type of comment🤡 A wise man once said....^ ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 19. Am thinking of changing to a sedan from a crossover, due to itchy backside, excuses are unsatisfactory fc and poor acceleration, before my legs are too weak to squat getting into car. What's your preference and what you think of each choice ? Hope to get some pointers from fellow forumers. Thanks.
  20. According to Google, xenophobia is "having or showing a dislike of, or prejudice against people from other countries". Regardless of the circumstance, no individual should display xenophobic behaviour, especially in a multi-racial country like Singapore. Unfortunately for one man, he let his anger get the better of him while confronting a self-entitled driver: https://www.facebook.com/BehChiaLor/videos/1185217522249632 What Happened? This confrontation occurred at Jalan Membina. Instead of parking his Honda Vezel at the nearby carpark, a self-entitled driver decided to park along the double yellow line by the curbside. A passerby who witnessed the incident approached the driver to tell him off for his inconsiderate behaviour. However, the driver brushed him off and continued to purchase fruits from a nearby stall. Needless to say, the driver's behaviour and response infuriated the passerby. As the driver returned to his car, the passerby whipped out his phone to film the driver. The passerby could be heard saying: "Park here again? Illegal park right? Are you from Singapore or not? Stupid idiot! Anyhow park the car. " Before the driver could react, the video cuts abruptly. Thoughts On This Incident Honestly, I admire the passerby's courage in telling the driver off for his inconsiderate act. In actual fact, the driver deserves a good telling off. However, the passerby's comment of "Are you from Singapore or not?" was entirely uncalled for. It was plain disgusting. The passerby would have earned the respect of many if he behaved with class. Netizens' Comments Nuff said, the comments speak for themselves. The user who submitted the video should be ashamed of his actions. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 21. This EV build is definitely not for everyone. For its 10-year run, the Honda S2000 has garnered a following all over the world. With more than 100,000 units sold within a decade, you can easily find fans of the Honda roadster even at your local car meet. You can thank the S2000's pop culture involvement for that. Much of the S2000's fame came from the exciting, open-top driving experience and VTEC power. But can you imagine a Honda S2000 that's built for the electric era? Ryan of Rywire Motorsport Electronics did so, and he had to summon the help of Tesla to complete the package. If you're a purist, you might want to look away. Ryan specializes in making neat builds of Japanese cars that Hoonigan has featured before, but he hasn't really dipped his toes in building EVs. That's the goal with this Honda S2000 EV build. To begin so, Ryan had to customize the front end to make it look different even at just first glance. Upon consulting with his peers, he was able to make a bumper that's somehow reminiscent of the Volkswagen ID range. Next, the wheels. Ryan had to fabricate a set of aero wheels to complete the EV look. For what it's worth, we think they look fantastic, especially considering the non-symmetrical design that's somehow made balanced by Ryan and his team. And then, of course, the powertrain. Motivated by a Tesla drive unit, this electric S2000 makes around 500 horsepower. The rear-mounted electric motor draws juice from a rather small battery pack. Specifically, two Chevy Volt battery packs for a total capacity of 38 kWh. The result is a range of up to 120 miles, which isn't too shabby if only for daily use. There are other impressive modifications for this electric S2000 to work, including complicated electronics dealt with by Ryan himself. He aims to daily this car to gather data for his next EV build so if you're interested, Rywire Motorsport Electronics should be able to build one for you – even better than this clean-looking S2000 EV revival.
  22. With the Chinese New Year festivities happening last week, most Singaporeans are sure to be extra cautious during this busy period. Whether it's chauffeuring their loved ones around or going about on their day-to-day tasks, the last thing a driver wants is to be involved in an accident during CNY. Luckily for this Honda Civic Type R driver, the unthinkable almost happened if not for his powerful brakes and short reaction time! The video starts with the cam car slowing down and stopping at a busy junction, just as the traffic lights turn red. On his right, a blue Honda Civic Type R from the opposite direction makes its right turn across the junction. As the vehicle enters the yellow box, a motorcyclist suddenly speeds across the junction as he beats the red light. Luckily, the Type R driver reacts quickly in time, slamming on his brakes and coming to a complete stop. The rider was shocked by the car's presence and swerved slightly to avoid being hit in a head-on collision. If it wasn't for the driver's quick thinking (and his brakes), this rider would not have been able to ride away with his leg sticking out like that. Big brake kit – is it purely for aesthetics? As one of the most popular car modifications, a big brake kit is advertised to drivers as necessary for greater stopping power and better overall handling of their vehicles. Consisting of larger-than-stock brake rotors, upgraded brake pads and rotors, stainless-steel brake lines, and fittings, the kit allows drivers to upgrade their car’s stock brake system for one single price. Even in wet conditions, drivers can enjoy better stopping power and shorter distances. It is also aesthetically more pleasing to look at and is safer to use on track. However, the downside is that installing one can be pretty expensive. Drivers have to upgrade their tyres to a larger size to fit the enormous discs of the kit, which can cost a few thousand dollars. Buuuuut, you can’t put a price on safety right? Netizens’ reactions Maybe AP Racing should contact our Honda Civic driver for a sponsorship? ========= Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! 23. NGL, road altercations in Singapore is a common affair. However, the extent of these altercations varies from minor ones that diffuse within seconds to major ones that go back and forth, intending to provoke each other. Watch this Honda Civic's persistent provocation towards a motorcyclist: What Happened? A Honda Civic was caught in the act of intentionally provoking a motorcyclist on the PIE. The Honda Civic was seen tailgating closely behind the motorcyclist before abruptly cutting in front of him. The Civic slows down to be alongside the motorcyclist. However, the motorcyclist passes him while making a hand gesture towards the Civic driver. The Last Straw It was at this point that the Honda driver lost it. Once again, he changes lane to tailgate the motorcyclist while flashing his high beam at him. The Honda Civic driver then attempted to 'sandwich' the motorcyclist between itself and a van. In response to the Civic's action, the motorcyclist makes another hand gesture before zooming off. Sadly, the actual audio could not be heard due to the background audio in the user-submitted video. But I am speculating that there was lots of honking involved. What Did The Motorcyclist Do? TBH, I highly doubt the motorcyclist is an innocent party in this altercation. Yes, judging from the video, he may seem innocent. However, there seems to be an encounter between these two that wasn't caught in the dashcam footage. Regardless, the Honda Civic driver was acting like a total d!ck throughout the entire video. (BTW, the lyrics of the background music is a very apt message to the Honda Civic driver) Netizens' Comments With his car plate made known, I hope TP does something about this Civic driver. "Attempted murder" seems a bit far-fetched tho... The above is such an unpopular opinion that bears so much truth. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook!
