Hi. My car inspection is coming round the corner. Kindly any bro/sis advise which centre is more lenient? JIC, STA or VICOM. Not that my car is heavily mod. Just wish to take the safer option. I stay in the west. Understand sometimes also depends on inspector at work. Just want to hear some good advise. Feel free. Thanks. My ride is 7 years old.

how long does LTA takes to issue the letter for new car inspection before registering car number? I have a friend who was in the midst of getting her new car next week, but SE told her their admin was hold back because her car is not inspected yet.

Hi all, just received a letter of notice from LTA. Other than dekitting whatever that is not allowed under LTA regulations, any particular stuff to take note of when sending my car in for inspection? Also how long will the whole thing take, a full day? First timer here, so pls bear with me Seems like the STA @ Boon Lay has closed down, real inconvenience for drivers like us who stay in the west

Hi, Kanna letter from LTA asking me to go inspect my iu unit as suspected faulty. Didnt deduct $ at one of the erp gantry. My Problem is, my tinting is quite dark. Am thinking will the inspector at the inspection centre kaypoh and catch me for dark tints as well? Or will they simply inspect the iu only? Anyone with experience can advise?

Yesterday, took my car for veh inspection to JIC Ang Mo Kio. When i was in the queue, one of the inspector came and said that my front windscreen, back door windows tinting cannot pass and advised me to remove it before being inspected. He did mentioned that it was done in malaysia and to me personally, the tinting wasn't that bad and it is bit golden tan colour tinting, but not sure how much of light pass through. Since i bought the used car a year back, it came as it is and wonder how it passed the previous inspection. Any advise to try my luck on other inspection centers or any recommendation on workshops to remove the tinting and how much it would cost.

Going for 5yrs inspection today but hit my bumper 2 days ago while parking... Just wonderimg, will such dent fail inspection? Can they fault me due to " bumper might fall off concern" ?.. The bumper still strongly attached and not wobbling at all..

Hey Bros, Quick question, can i opt for early inspection if my inspection date is due on next year feb? Beside inspection, can i also renew my road tax at the same time after clearing the inspection? I understand that renewal of road tax has to have vaild insurance and must clear inspection, yes?

Jialat.... I change my exhaust without thinking cause it looks so good. Now I have no idea how I am going to get thru inspection cause I didn't know cannot change one. I though just not loud can already.... :(

Hi, My car is coming to 3 years, recently received a notice from LTA asking for car inspection before renewing my insurance. The problem is, my windscreen has a 1 ft long crack. I am wonder whether LTA will still let me pass for insurance renewal. the reason is i want to change it under my new insurance, i am thinking to opt for agent workshop isntead of insurance company authorised workshop. Hope any brpo can share your experience. Thanks.

I think I have short term memory. All I know is I should have vehicle inspected, insurance renewed, then I go renew my road tax. This time round, I renewed my insurance, then I went on to onemotoring to renew my road tax. How come it can be renewed via onemotoring when I havent gone through my inspection? So I should go for inspection tomorrow? Or I wait for them to tell me I renewed without vehicle inspection, and have to go get my car inspected? -

Hi guys, I was thinking of changing my black smoked LED tail lights out from my swift. Actually, wanted to get the swift sport red tailights to replace what i have now but i still wanna be unique. The black smoked LED i have is not passable as there are no reflectors in it. But i heard from some bros that there are a few models in the market that is LTA passable. Usually, it's the clear smoked ones where the reflectors can be seen and i think it does not affect light emission. Anyone can confirm this? Im asking because if ROV catches, i will get fine for a lot of other things, so trying to be subtle here :P Tailight 1 Tailight 2 Regards, ipj

Not sure if anyone had discuss this before, but I went to STA Boon Lay for inspection and was pleasantly surprise they are giving 10% discount from now till 29th Apr, during the extended inspection hours between 6pm - 9pm. This promo is only @ Boon Lay and Sin Ming centres. No harm trying if yours is due for inspection during this period. Side note, I was told that re-inspection is FOC in their centres. You decide. Anyway, I passed even though headlights failed, as usual...

Hi all, i just kenna letter from NEA regarding black smoke from my truck. I know the source of the problem and will be getting the work shop to check it out. they ask me go down to vicom for inspection. Just curious, for this inspection, the rims on my truck are after market ( ie, Goods vehicle cannot change rims). will they also check that? or is the emission test seperate from the LTA inspection? any info will be appreciated.
