  1. Dear all, I was looking at my keyboard and realised that the spacebar has a marking on the right side .... which make me realised that it is due to the constant hitting it with my right thumb. So now I'm trying to hit it with my left thumb.... which makes me realised that the "Qwerty" keyboard utilises the left hand more as I find that it's quite difficult to continously hit the spacebar with the left thumb. Does any of you has similar experience?
  2. My ride's rear left has tok tok sound when going over humps. Suspect it's coming from the BC coil. Where can I go to have this checked and serviced? Driving Honda Fit. Thanks.
  3. Coming off a recent discussion, want to find out really is the trend for driving with Both legs active increasing ? For those who drive with BOTH left and right leg active - can you provide reasons e.g. convenience, handling and control etc so that us die-hard-one-leggers can understand ? Thanks !
  4. Was on my way towards tampines this morning, traffic was relatively clear along PIE, this Black Toyota Harrier was doing 80-90km/hr on the extreme right. Overtook him from left and was Fired with a few rounds of High Beammmmsss....Which set me thinking, is overtaking from the left along expressway legal? If a TP were to be behind and witness the whole event, will I be book? Mr Black Harrier is within the speed limit and he is not breaking the law! What do you think? I guilty as HELL?

  6. I am pretty sure it's a nono to have any transmitting or even electronic device turned on when the plane is taking off and landing, but can someone give me a better idea on the actual implications involved (besides jamming their GPS navigation systems)? Were there incidents before that, there were fines issued to passengers, jail sentenances or even emergency landing due to passengers refusing to turn their electronic device off? On my way out of the country, out of curiousity, I turned my Garmin Nuvi 660 on when plane was in mid air. It took a very long to aquire the satellites (more like their navigation system jamming mine). I gave up quickly and went back to sleep. On my return flight, even before the plane was on the runway, I turned the GPSr... it worked great... the plane landed safely. No punk intended... here's some screen shot of the Nuvi 660 during flight

  10. So far I found the following: 1. 60 cents. 2. An ultra-plush washing cloth. 3. A bottle of leftover wiper wash. I only used the 60 cents for my own car wash. Some owners are really careless...
  11. Me using a P-80 with a DLS UP6 speaker. When i push all the sound to the left speaker it seems clearer and louder then when i push all to the right speaker. Is this normal?
  12. Why is it dangerous and illegal? I admit I don't know why.. but since driving school never taught me, i suspect a number of people out there don't know either. the typical L-plater gets zero opportunity to overtake from the left. and thus driving instructors tend to miss out on this point. when one overtakes "safely" even on the left, why is it dangerous, assuming one signals n checks blind spot before doing so?
  13. anyone knows? pls advise... once saw a yellow one in NTU ard yr 2002, later got to see one "Initial D" 86 parked in Hall 5 car park as well... n thats it...
  14. hi, just found out that my car right side is slightly lower then my left. because my left side 2 finger can go in freely with abit gap but right side 2 finger go in abit tight. anything wrong about this? and my car will steer abit right while driving.
  15. Just wanted to share with you my experience of having the front left tyre burst (Bridgestone Turanza 205/55R16) while at ~100km/h along CTE this morning... Surprisingly enough, the car did not loose control when the tyre went burst. I only hear a sudden loud "blok blok..." sound. I quickly slow down and filter to the left lane, then to the road shoulder. Initially, I thought it is just a punctured tyre. To my horror, the tyre sidewall was suffering a large cracked line of about 6 inches. I could see the teared portion with wire exposed. I was in deep rushed to change up the tyre and forgot to take a picture of it. My mileage is closed to 48K. Though typically tyre replacemet usually start when close to 70K or so. Any comment on this? Really dunno why the sidewall will crack in such a way. It is pretty dangerous if there isn't any tell-tale sign. If at higher speed say ~140km/h along NS HW, that could be a disaster liao. Anyway, had the 4 tyres replaced to Maxxis MA-21, highly recommended by shop owner over the Bridgestone GR80 for wet floor gripping. Will let you guys know more about its performance at later time. In conclusion, I am pleasantly surprise that the car still remain controllability even though the front tyre burst when I was cruising at 100km/h.
  16. Was doing some polishing when I hand itchy tested some polish on my car window's black plastic (the frame). Now, there are white stains all over the frame due to the polish. How to remove it? No matter how hard I wipe, the stain will come back when it is dry. Can use alcohol?

  18. Hi All, After i park my car today i smell of petrol so i went down to take a look then i discover only the fornt left wheel area got the petrol smell. Is it due to a leak around that area? Is there any fuel pipeline around the front left area? I'm driving a 92 G7. Thanks in advance!!
  19. Day 1: Left SA with their HALF TANK. Travelled 204 km & Fuel guage indicated "E" Empty but No Warning Light at all To play safe , i drove in to SPC & fill up 41 litres & up to maximium. Aveo hand Book indicated that: 1: Full Tank is 45 litres. 2: Warning Light Will Come On at approximately with 7.5 litres in Aveo Tank. I filled up with SPC 41 litres + SA 4 litres = 45 litres as FULL TANK! Anyone hav any problem / experience like this to share or advise.
  20. Hi Bros, Can we add 2 RCA signals (left and right) and use it to drive a subwoofer ? No subwoofer signal out. Use a Y-shape 2-to-1 RCA connector ? Thanks.
  21. heard sometime ago that left tyre and right tyre are different in pattern (to form a symmetry or something). i just changed my tyre but i found all of them have exactly the same pattern. not sure if it's right or not... my tyres are michelin pilot preceda (195/55/R15). the tyre pattern is something like this: -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] so now my car top view looks like this: REAR -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] -]||_] FRONT is this right? thanks.
  22. Came across a COE BMW today, and the dealer offered $30,000. COE left is $17,800. Looks well-maintained... and $30,000 seems rather enticing to drive a beemer. Is this a good deal? For COE beemers, are there special things to check for? What about annual cost of maintenance - what's the likely cost I shld budget? Thanks for any advice.
  23. Hi guys, need some advice from gurus here I'm using michellin preceda 195/55/15. They are non-directional tires, (ie no sidewall arrow marking). They have 'outside' marked on the outer walls though Looking at the outer thread wave direction, left side points >(front), whereas the right points < (back). Is this normal? My car steers moderately to the left, which is more than normal as it only steers slightly previously. No funny noises, okay braking. Can I just swap the front left and front right tires to cure the steer left problem? I had alignment done at riverview, and after adjustment, kenny swapped the front 2 tires left to right and vice-versa to solve the problem. I'm not sure if the above 'back' pointing and 'front' pointing was there as i had my tires rotated recently. Thanks guys!
