  4. Fall In Love With Autumn Travel New York, Sept. 28, 2007 (CBS) Though much of the world takes their annual vacation in the summer -- especially those with school-aged children -- more Americans are putting off their travels until autumn rolls around so they can take advantage of lighter crowds and lower prices. Xander Kaplan, associate editor for Travel + Leisure magazine, dropped by The Early Show to talk about some of her favorite fall travel spots and why they're just as nice in October as they are in August. Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac, Quebec, Canada Quebec City is known for its European charm, architectural beauty, cobblestone streets, numerous boutiques, art galleries, antique shops and wonderful dining. Standing high on a cliff overlooking the St. Lawrence River, the Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac is a castle-like property in the heart Old Quebec. 9. Article about the smell of new car being harmful to your body.... I have re-produced it for the convenience of the Bros here.... Interested parties can find the full article here... http://straitstimes.asia1.com.sg/topstorie...,166299,00.html ================================================================================ = LONDON - The distinctive smell inside a new car, often a source of satisfaction to owners, comes from the same form of pollution that causes sick building syndrome, a study in Japan shows. It said the smell in a new car could contain up to 35 times the health limit set for volatile organic chemicals in cars in Japan, making its enjoyment akin to glue-sniffing, The Telegraph newspaper reported yesterday. The chemicals found included ethyl benzene, xylene, formaldehyde and toluene used in paints and adhesives. In high densities, these cause symptoms linked with the sick building syndrome: headaches, dizziness and respiratory problems. The study by a Japanese public-health researcher found that it took three years for the level in new cars to fall below the limit set for vehicles by the Japanese Health Ministry. According to The Telegraph, Mr Toshiaki Yoshida, the Osaka Institute of Public Health's chief researcher, analysed the air inside a new minivan every week for the first two months and every month after that. The van was driven 5,600 km a year. On delivery, the van was found to contain 113 kinds of volatile organic chemicals, mostly hydrocarbons. It took four months for these to fall below the safe limit. But the levels rose again in the hot summer months - even after two years. Said Mr Tim Williamson, of the National Society for Clean Air: 'Leaving the car at home is not only good for the environment, it is good for your health, too.' ================================================================================ ==
  10. Anyone out here know where can i find pubs in s'pore that sings or playing sentimental love songs??? Pubs hotels etc....
  11. I think these gull wings are just so cool. I wonder where they can be done?
  12. I dunno if this is an isolated case but i dont think so....recently i had a problem with my car, jerky at the start and misfiring now and then. My car had clocked some mileage but a few clicks out of warranty so i send in my car to the AUTHORISED service centre as i believed they knew best... So the story goes... i brought the car in at about 10 am.....and waited till 6pm to get the car...called in a few times whilst wating and they said they are still troubleshooting and checking ...no problem i waited...so when it's time to collect i went and was told that the sensor was dirty due to filter ....and they have cleaned it and it's FOC ..so i was happy that things got solved and it's FOC .......till a week later the CEL came on again with even worse misfiring....i was pissed and tried to drive the coughing car to a nearby Shell station where i was greeted by a OLD OLD AH PEK ....first look i was skeptical and trying to Hokkienise my english description of what had happened ...and he took a look at my engine bay ....and started plugging out all my spark plug cable and tested ...one by one ...and within 12 mins he told me that my plug cables are damaged and worn... so he replaced it and within 30 mins DONE ...from then on my CEL never came on EVER ....So as i see it... AH PEK vs SERVICE CENTRE = 1-0

  14. The Ariel by Saunders. The lunatics who do it for love Why would anyone want to be an independent car-maker in Britain in this day and age? Nobody under the age of 30 can remember a mass-producing, native-born British car industry in anything like its mid-20th century form, but it would be a grievous insult to a host of ingenious and dedicated car-makers to say that the British car industry is dead. The creators: Simon Saunders is one of Britain's stoic band of low-volume manufacturers Its remains can be found in industrial parks, warehouses and lock-ups, in one-man bands and two-bit companies. Almost like the Japanese soldiers who went on fighting on Pacific islands long after the end of the Second World War, Britain's car-makers exist in the neglected fringes of the regular economy. Such people are often regarded as being lunatics, sometimes by themselves. "I often think we must all be barking mad to do it," says Andrew Barber of FBS. "Our existence is a typical British cross between bloody-mindedness and sheer stupidity," says Simon Saunders of Ariel. There are at least a further 50 kit car companies. Morgan, Caterham, TVR and Westfield are the long-established big names
