  1. Saw a taxi with MCF sticker advert outside Downtown MRT just now and then 5mins later saw another taxi this time with SGcarmart sticker advert outside MBFC, cool man👍
  2. Just noticed a change in the forum. The previous row allowing one click access back to new post/participated post/latest discussions/most active discussions has now been shrunk to this button which u have to mouse over on a computer and actually click twice on android chrome browser (1st to open the button menu then 2nd to click on what u want to access). How lehcheh is this man. From a one click action, increase to two. And for a NEGLIGIBLE increase in screen real estate. On a computer i don't feel it's that big an issue but it's really irritating while on mobile. Especially in a forum where there are multiple pages and the back button does not bring u back to the main forum page. Our phone screens are not that big. And to have to click 2 small icons in a row... I vote this a thumbs down.

  6. Well done.. and good job! So much mod bashing around. So I thought it will be good to show some appreciation for the mods that have day-jobs and still help to keep this place relatively tidy. I cant say I totally agree with the standard set or even the action done. ** I was given a yellow card before and at the same time invited to be a mod all within 2 mths** But so far, its a good experience in MCF for the past 7 yrs and 4th car change. There is no perfect forum, if it is too perfect , it's boring. If it's to "dirty", then I cannot read in the office :P -------------Please close this post if you think it's a duplicate thread.---------------------------------------------
  7. Our day at the scenic and peaceful hill resort of Cameron Highlands soon came to an end. But the mood wasn't at all dreary, because we left the best for the last - a one-night stopover in the town of Melaka. First, some group shots to capture the memories. Soon, the convoy was good to go. Traffic was relatively light, and we were lucky to make it to our night's stayover before dusk. That gave us some time to explore the town. Of course, we had to pay a visit to the famous food streets. The hotel had a rustic feel to it, similar to the shophouses we have in Chinatown. The day ended with a night trail, where we took a short river boat tour around the small town. Next morning, it was time to head back home. The guys from Idemitisu made sure the cars were ready for the final leg of the road trip. While all good things come to an end, the trip was definitely a fruitful one. The cars ran smoothly and faultlessly throughout the entire journey without any hiccups. The primary data from the trip is also very positive. From the data collected from the road trip, Idemitsu's Extreme Eco 0W20 and 5W30 grade engine oil achieved the most significant fuel savings of 9.1 percent and 6.2 percent respectively. Road trips can't get any better than this.
  8. ..a playground for the sammyboy migrants Sadly, the amount of filth here is no different from EDMW, and Sammyboy per se. As long as the mods keep quiet, it will definitely degrade further into another place of sex, lust, filth and what have you. Sigh....if only the MODS will wake up and do a good spring clean once and for all....else, too late

  19. from Yahoo: 'Leftover women' in China face tough choices in looking for love SHANGHAI (Reuters) - Xu Jiajie has gone on countless blind dates and to numerous match-making events over the past five years in search of a husband. At 31, the baby-faced office worker from Shanghai is under enormous pressure from family and friends to get married. But the right man is hard to find, she says, a big issue for urban, educated and well-paid Chinese women in a society where the husband's social status is traditionally above the wife's. "My parents have introduced every bachelor they know," said Xu, who earns double the average wage in Shanghai. "Half of the bachelors I met are quiet and never go out. Outgoing men don't need blind dates." As couples celebrate the "Qixi" festival on Tuesday, the Chinese equivalent of Valentine's Day, Xu and millions of women like her face stark choices as long-held ideas about matrimonial hierarchy run up against economic and social changes sweeping the world's most populous country. The term "shengnu" - directly translated as "leftover women" - was coined to refer to professional women who have not married by their late 20s. "Chinese people often think males should be higher in a relationship in every sense, including height, age, education and salary," Ni Lin, who hosts a popular match-making television show in Shanghai, told Reuters. "This leads to a phenomenon in which A-grade men marry B-grade women, B-grade men marry C-grade women and C-grade men marry D-grade women. Only A-grade women and D-grade men can't find partners." link: http://sg.news.yahoo.com/leftover-women-ch...-054109510.html I had seen their Match-Making shows, some are very pretty chio bu and is just that the competitions for men is very high in China...
  20. I guess this would be a timely reminder now in the midst of sooo many recent threads and lots of flare going up again. I decided it is time to revisit some cordial rules that has kept MCF sane all these years. Have seen MCF also grow into more responsible posts and knowledgeable posts from various parties and thanks for that. Here are the basics i can think of, but not exhaustive: 1. Agree to Disagree While we get caught up in discussions and want our viewpoints heard, let's also respect that others have theirs. If you disagree, then just move on and agree to disagree. By doing that, you basically save your own BP as well as respect that others have their viewpoints as well. It does not ruin your life nor make your life anymore miserable. So, state your point, move on and leave it as that. The worst thing one can do is FORCE the views down somebody's throat. Life is already stressed, let's not add to that here. 2. Getting Personal This is not the Porker-Turboflat4 kind of personal.... This I notice happens on the odd occasion where ppl get embroiled in attacking the person for what they say and putting the person down thenceforth. Address the issue, NOT the person, please! Discuss and look at the bigger picture rather than begrudgement of a certain character or their attributes, etc. The MODs do note certain characters and watch their every move should they post in a certain way, and that too, is not begrudgement of the character but for the sanity of the forum at large. We have seen in the real world that it can get pretty ugly judging from recent events that have also occurred out there. 3. Politics Time and again, we have mentioned, no politics, please. MCF tends to attract certain kinds of visitors and although I have noted certain threads, they are for general discussion and while they border and tether on the brink, will let it stay. Once it gets out of hand, I would have to step in to call a close. This is also for the benefit of the existence of this place. There are other places out there for putting your hand in it, should you wish to, but let's not go down that lane here. Most importantly, substantiate your claims These are the few that have come off my head since the last week or so and let's keep the spirit of MCF alive as we know this to be a place where most of us get our news and information as well as to just chill out. Feel free to add should you want to. Good night all!
