We all know continental cars are prestige brands. There are many of them, I will chose Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Volvo for discussion. I like all of them, but just couldn't decide which one is best in terms of fame, value and performance. Cheers!

Hi forum mates, 1) Is it true that the more gears ALWAYS the better? Let's say a.City Driving. b.Cruising c.Racing (factors to consider: FC, efficiency, fun, drivability, maintenance, reliability? to name a few) 2) Having successfully released 8 gears cars (Lexus), will the pursue of more and more gears ultimately result in CVT-like behavior?

STOMPer JT sent these photos of the scene of an accident involving three cars at the junction of Clementi Road and Ulu Pandan Road at about 4am today (14 Oct). "Three-car collision between a Lotus Elise, Nissan and a Mercedes cab at the junction of Clementi Road and Ulu Pandan road occurred about 4am on 14th Oct 2007," the STOMPer said in an email today. "There were bad injuries but no casualties during the time when the ambulance arrived," JT said. STOMP contacted the Police, which said it received a call at about 3.50am about an accident involving three cars at the junction of Clementi Road and Ulu Pandan Road. Was on my way home earlier ard 5pm, taking the route exiting from PIE to Bedok Reservior, leading to Tampines Ave 10. Was on the middle lane, and as I was moving off from the main junction (at Bedok Res, going towards Tampines Ave 10), this dark blue Merc E200 SGC5X02H on my left suddenly swerve to cut my lane without signalling. There was quite a bit of heavy traffic, and he was only about half a car length's distance ahead of me. I had no choice but to honk the fella to let him know that i was on his right and to avoid a collision. And because he still persisted in cutting my lane, i had no choice but to go onto the right-most lane (its a 3-lane road) To my surprise, he kept pace with me and he wind down his window to show angry gestures at me. And he purposely drove behind me to tailgate me closely. I decided to drive as per the speed limit on that road, and i think he was in a hurry, he wanted to overtake me, but couldnt as there was a MPV on my left at the same speed. He wanted to overtake the MPV as well, and tried to take the outer left lane only to realise that that lane is a 'turn-left' only lane towards Kaki Bukit (below the Kaki Bukit flyover). Left with no choice, he had to stay in the lane behind the MPV. And after the bend (below the flyover), and towards Tampines Ave 10, he purposefully over-took me and jam braked... and thankfully, i kept a safe distance. All i can say is that YOU THE MERC DRIVER OF SGC5X02H , YOU DRIVING A BLOODY BIG CAR DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE REASON TO BULLY SMALL CARS LIKE MINE, AND IT IS A BLOODY SHAME THAT YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO ROAD MANNERS AT ALL!!!!

This thread is not to be a flame for any party but just trying to understand. I went to C&C over the weekend (but of course I cant afford.. was there because my friend want to buy the merc; trying to wha2 ji3 deng3, free coffee.. ). I read from the brochure that the 1.8L C-class has about 180 horse-power and yet the fuel consumption is about 8.5L / 100km (that's 11.76km/L).. Is Merc engine really that powerful and yet not thirsty? I thought continental cars are thirsty machines.

Hi everyone, Does anyone here know if the Mercedes, Sonata & Magentis taxis run on petrol or diesel? I see them "burning up the roads" during my late night rides back home, machiam true blue muscle cars! But there are many friends I know who believe they are diesel-powered hence not as powerful as their petrol counterparts? If they are indeed diesel-powered, wouldn't the engine be totally different and the cars should not be labeled per their petrol-model? I'm just being curious. Thnks for reading.

If you are the owner of this merc(S class or e class I think) or friend of this owner, please contact me via PM. I saw that this morning around 8.30am or so along CTE towards city, you were involved with an accident with a bike, who was trying to squeeze between 2 cars(one of which is yours) and in the process damaged your left wing mirror. The bike, with 2 riders, not only did not stop to check but instead I saw the pillion rider waving his arm and looking back in a rude manner. Clearly the bike was in the wrong. Hit and run is unacceptable. I hate this type of road rage behaviour. Call me and I give you my witness statement
