  1. There was a small traffic jam along Bedok North Road near the junction with Bedok Reservoir Road this morning and I could see flashing blue lights ahead of me. At first, I thought it was just a routine accident but as my car got closer, I saw a wrecked bike and a body lying under a white plastic sheet on the road divider. Mr TP seems to be gawking at the corpse. This is the first time I have seen a fatal accident and it is quite unnerving. I must say Bedok North Road is condusive to speeding and even the lorries are 2F2F sometimes. Last year, there was even a Kangoo sized van that lost control while cornering and went into the drain.
  2. Proton to pick up Subaru's mantle in the WRC? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Before Subaru entered the World Rally Championship in the Nineties, it was little more than an obscure Asian automaker. Though its rallying efforts helped to put it on the map, Subaru has decided to ditch the WRC this season. But another little-known Asian automaker may be ready to pick up what Subaru is throwing away. That company is Malaysian automaker Proton. And it's not as ridiculous as you may think. The state-owned enterprise has a strong customer base in Asia, and is the largest automaker in the Muslim world. Proton also owns Lotus, which brings the parent company a considerably performance engineering knowledge base to tap into. Subaru's former partner Prodrive is looking for a new client. And to cap things off, now unemployed former champion Petter Solberg (who used to drive for Subaru), is now rumored to be signing on to Proton's rally team. Together with motorsport garage MEM, Proton has been busy preparing an S2000-spec rally car based on its Satria Neo hatchback for the lower-level Intercontinental Rally Championship, and if plans to switch the WRC to a modified "S2000+" formula come through, it could pave the way for Proton to mount an assault on the WRC by 2010, as the brand is eager to expand outside its regional market and establish itself in Europe. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  3. Hello bros and sis, i will be going for class 4 driving training courtesy of SAF. I was told to report at Kaki bukit driving centre. Anyone knows where can i park for free for the next 2 weeks? I couldn't find the parking rates for the driving centre online. thanks.
  4. My friend was at the junction outside zouk area. He stopped at the red light. A few seconds later, a black jazz/fit went past him, beating the red light then hitting a camry perpendicular. The camry spun slightly and hit the middle divider. My friend said a lady and a guy got out of the jazz/fit and the camry's horn was blasting away. He said he thought he saw the lady laughing or something but I am not too sure about that. My friend wanted to come down and call the police but the police came really fast (near zouk). The camry driver didn't come out for a while and my friend decided to leave the area. In another incident few years back, my same friend's car got hit perpendicularly (as well) by a drunk black lancer at paya lebar area, also ran the red light. Luckily he wasn't injured at all but the driver had to settle the 35k bill for the car as the insurance wouldn't cover. I really hope the camry driver will be ok. That black jazz driver, i hope you were drunk. You will be paying through your nose for the damage to your car, his car and his medical bills. Bye bye license too ! Your 10 second folly will follow you around for life i hope. ------------------------------ The reason for this post, is to appeal to all drivers and hopefully to serve as a wakeup call. Here are some pointers! Raise your hand if you have done it before, then hit your own head. I won't say i'm an angel, but self awareness is the first step, I'm trying to get rid of my bad driving habits too. 1. No, you are probably not a better driver than most others, despite your years of driving experience in stop/start traffic, cutting in and out at 60km/h. 2. No, your car is not probably going to win others in a race, despite the mods you have done to your car, including but not limited to ur broquet, superione and modified exhaust. 3. No, your car won't be able to corner and drift like initial D, despite the lowered tein suspension, pirelli p zero tyres and your amazing heel toe braking skills. 4. No, you can't control your car, emotions and ur balls when you are 'slightly high', so don't bother. You are usually too drunk to make that right decision whether you are high or not. Take the fxxking cab home or valet it back. 5. No girls will come up and ask for your number, or no one is amazed with your ability to rev your car past eateries at jln kayu, simpang bedok or where ever. Your full reving just irritates people or wakes the neighbourhood up, and are probably calling you chao ah beng. So unless you drive a car in excess of $500,000, pls dun bother reving your exhaust, esp in the middle of the nite. People do not appreciate it. 6. Lastly, the girl in your passenger seat is not your audience. No matter how racer you think you are, value her life at least. If you wish to race, drop her off, call me to fetch her then go race. I'll comfort her when you smash your face in the steering wheel. Thank you and have a nice day.

  8. For those drivers who stay beyond Bedok and often ply PIE toward city regularly, you would have probably obvious one grey metal pillars being built on the edge of the expressway and another pillar in the middle of the expressway just outside the Bedok slip road. It doesn't look too good to me thou[sweatdrop] Is this the sign of Every Road Pay era?
  9. Found a screw stuck in my left rear tyre. Don't dare to pull it out yet. It's Sunday. Any tyre workshop open? Need to extract the screw and patch if there is leakage.
  10. Anyone know where is the best place to park my car? I have to bring my maid there to renew her passport. Thanks
  11. Home > Breaking News > Singapore > Story Sep 22, 2008 It can be tricky being a bailiff Court bailiffs may well find themselves in delicate - or even dangerous - situations By Sujin Thomas WHEN Mr Mohd Hatta Abdul Razak, 40, pays a business call at people's homes, it is usually not the kind of business that is welcomed. He is a court bailiff of the Subordinate Courts who seizes items from people in debt. He is the one who shows up when a creditor, such as a bank, applies successfully to the courts for a writ of seizure and sale. He accompanies the creditor to the debtor's home or office to seize the items. If no settlement is made within seven days or if the court does not issue an order to stop proceedings, the seized items are auctioned off to make good the debt. The situations he finds himself in can be delicate or even dangerous. He recalls going to an HDB flat in Ang Mo Kio in the 1990s to look for a debtor who had defaulted on his rent. The man's wife climbed onto a window ledge and threatened to jump. He had shown up at the flat with an HDB representative and policemen to serve a writ of possession, an eviction order issued by the court. He said: 'We're trained to not only observe our debtors but also our surroundings. It happened very fast. Half of her body was already out of the window.' The police managed to pull her back into the flat. Mr Hatta said: 'I told the creditor, HDB, that it was in the best interest to call the execution off. The case didn't come back to me afterwards, so perhaps something was worked out.' The Subordinate Courts now has six full-time staff and another half dozen Certis Cisco officers to perform bailiff duties. On the job, they don navy blue vests bearing the court logo. Bailiffs identify items such as electrical appliances and furniture for seizure by pasting sticker seals with the courts' logo. Fixtures such as shelves and religious items are left alone. After 18 years on the job, the hardest part for Mr Hatta is having to deal with the family members of debtors, the majority of whom are HDB dwellers. 'They'll beg you. Sometimes, you'll find children crying because you are seizing their TV set. It's a shock for someone new to the job.' He started out at the Subordinate Courts in 1989 as a building maintenance officer. He held that job for all of nine months before being made a bailiff. Training back then was on the job. He followed a more senior bailiff, who guided him. Since 2004, bailiffs-in-training have attended a two-month course including a law theory test, a two-week field attachment and a mock-up test. Trainees include not just bailiff hopefuls but also solicitors who have been authorised by the court to perform the job. During the mock-up test conducted in a room on the second floor of the Subordinate Courts, trainees are pitted against 'debtors' to test their mediation skills. Head bailiff Abdul Ghani Majid, 58, who has about 20 years' experience, said this test weeds out those who 'react adversely', that is, those who lose their temper. Out in the field, difficult debtors are a reality. A female bailiff once received back injuries at the hands of a debtor brandishing a bicycle chain. Mr Hatta, who has three children, does not advertise what he does for a living to friends and family. 'I don't quite like the idea of them coming up to me when they are in trouble. I always ask them whether they want guidelines on how to settle their debts or how to escape. 'If they want to escape settling the debt, I'll tell them not to come to me.' [email protected] http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking%2BNew...ory_281272.html when the propaganda machine run this.. it cud well mean one thing only. akan datang at a flat near you. or it mike even b you/ me. ok.. at most jamban man sleep under bridge. more good years ahead!!!

  19. July 10, 2008 Probe into M'sian budget hotels filming couples in sex acts MALAYSIAN police will investigate claims that budget hotels in Klang are being used to film couples having sex and selling the footage to pornographic VCD and DVD sellers. Klang Asst Commissioner Mohamad Mat Yusop said police will follow up on a report in a Malay daily that rooms at these hotels are fitted with hidden cameras placed in the television set and air-condition unit to capture couple in the sex act. 'The report in the Malay daily is the first that we have heard of such incidents taking place and since it is illegal to have such cameras in hotel rooms we will definitely carry out investigation soon,' he said. He said the making and selling of pornographic VCDs and DVDs was another offence and the police would put a stop to it if the claims were true. The DVDs and VCDs were sold for between RM10 (S$4.19) and RM18 each and featured mostly teenagers and students from institutions of higher learning. The Malay newspaper report said that a 23 volume set of DVDs of the sex romp could fetch RM3,000, besides the royalties for each copy sold. -- The Star/ANN. http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2BNews/...ory_256433.html

  22. It's on STOMP. Please decide and voice out for justice. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singapor...nt.jsp?id=27196 Thank you. "I had a near-miss accident at a round-about near Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim Road on Saturday (June 28), because a PRC driver suddenly cut into my lane without warning. I was at the outer lane of the round-about and driving at 20-30km/h at that point of time. "To avoid the accident, my only choice was to swerve left to avoid collision.I could not brake too as there were cars behind me. "The worst thing was that the PRCs driving the lorry refused to admit their mistake! They even aggressively shouted and pointed fingers denying their mistake. "They refused to exchange driver license particulars and refused to let me take photos of them. " When I spoke to their boss over the phone the boss said his hands were tied as he was not at the scene and his workers denied any mistakes. "He even told me to understand that his workers are lowly paid. I was so angry, and I told him off that being lowly paid does not mean that they can shirk off their responsibility! "As there was no vehicle collision involved or any human injuries, there was no way for me to make an accident claim. "I've also checked with AIG on whether I can make a claim against them, but to no avail since they can deny it as there was no damage to their vehicle. "The insurance people told me that I was just plain unlucky. "Final damage had to be borned by me. I'm glad that my workshop was there to provide swift repairs and lend me a spare wheel for me to drive to other workshops. My steering arm also had to be replaced! "I have photos of those PRCs (one with them pointing aggressively when I took the photos) and the lorry license plate. Thinking of emailing STOMP to voice out these irresponsible and dangerous PRC workers! "Since I can't claim them and it is not worth claiming my own insurance, I shall air their dirty laundry in public. "May I have the support from other fellow road users? "

  24. Was at Golden Mile for my morning breakfast. Parked at Beach Road Blk 13 car park. Saw this situation at the carpark. The picture tells a thousand words. A brand new CNG car somemore! I do not know what happen. Did not witness it. Took the pictures to warn people & myself to always be cautious near carpark ramps.
  25. I am just wondering if there is a traffic rule to prohibit a car to stop and drop a passeger near a bus-stop. I have been dropping my wife just in front of a bus-stop where the marking on the side is a double yellow line and is not marked as a bus lane. Just this morning, an SBS bus was right behind me and the bus driver kept honking at me for stopping my car to drop my wife along a double yellow line about 5 meters in front of the bus-stop. I wonder why ??
