  4. Pickup trucks in America are one of the popular choices in the American car industry. Not just American car makers, Japanese like Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Mazda has also entered this market segment, without or with failures. Even continental brands like Mercedes Benz is trying to enter this market with it's new X calss, which has not been introduced in the North American market yet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pickup_truck Once a work tool with few creature comforts, in the 1950s consumers began purchasing pickups for lifestyle reasons and by the 1990s less than 15 percent of owners reported use in work as the pickup truck's primary purpose.Today in North America, the pickup is mostly used like a passenger car and accounts for about 18 per cent of total vehicles sold in the US. While in the United States and Canada most pickup trucks are used primarily for passenger transport, agriculture, and commercial uses, pickups are also used in law enforcement, the military, fire services, and for pickup truck racing, a form of auto racing using modified versions of pickups mostly onoval tracks. Race pickup trucks are mechanically similar to coupé-shaped stock cars. 6. Want to buy a car. Found a good deal, but the dealership is 2 far from me. I can transfer a car to my area, but not ready to visit the dealership several times, have no time. They sent me a vehicle history report, pretty good grades. Tons of car photos and one short video. Also my brother in law bought there a 2010 Tacoma, didn't complain (but they moved so he can't help). Now a dealership offers me to test drive a car online via some app called LVS. I want to try because driving 200 miles for a test drive - no thanks. I think I can get necessary info from an online test drive, at least I could hear how engine works and stuff. Has anyone had such an experience? Is it safe and modern or I've lost my mind? Thanks in advance!

  15. Hi, I am asking the questions on behalf of my dad and I am a total noob in this area. Appreciate if anyone can shed some advice. Thanks. My Dad's ride is a OPC Latio sedan (4AT) whom COE will be expiring in Oct 2016. He took the 10 years loan and his car parf value is about 4.9K. Due to my mom's medical condition that required the car, he is looking into renewing his COE for another 5 years. The current condition of his car is tip top, mileage is super low as well. Qns: - If he get a COE renewal loan, how much cash he has to down? I am assuming that under the new MAS ruling, he will not be able to loan full amount. I read elsewhere that finance company is able to loan up to 80% while banks is about 60%? - Also, the loan prepayment period is max at 3 years for 5 years COE renewal? - Is the road tax and insurance going to cost the same regardless if his car is OPC or non OPC after renewing his coe? I read that it is more worthwhile to convert back to normal plate before renewing coe. Or is it more worthwhile for him to trade in to Tan Chong Motors and get a new OPC Almera?

  17. Nissan is launching its Altima or what we know it as the Teana, next month in America. The Japanese company is expecting the model to be a success as it reckons younger consumers want sedans. While some companies such as Ford and the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles group have decided to streamline their product line up by cutting the number of sedans they offer, Nissan Altima's Marketing Manager, Bruce Pillard thinks that sedans will make a comeback, as reported by The Detroit Bureau. He went on to explain that the company reckons "younger generations will buy more sedans than older generations" as the younger consumers “don’t want to drive daddy’s car” which is likely going to be a crossover. While he has a good point, we think it is an unlikely that will happen as a sedan will almost never be as practical as an SUV or crossover. Remember the MPV boom before SUVs came into the picture? MPVs sold well as people loved the additional space and flexibility they could offer. That said, we can't wait for the Altima/Teana to come to Singapore as it is quite a looker in our opinion!

  19. Not sure anyone has the same problem. My 9 yr old latio AT sedan been giving me concern. While driving, it has suddenly seem to go into neutral while the gear is in "drive". What happens is the engine suddenly just revs but no power goes to the wheels. Macham neutral. Sometimes I just need to wait a while and Power comes back. But twice I had to roll to a complete stop, off engine and restart. Any ideas or experience anyone? ?
