    Fight over Girl

Would you fight with your brother over a Girl? I was at XXX KTV recently with fren A. I pushed Girl B to him and she sat with him. Fren A left early and fren C arrived, girl B came back to chit chat with me and I innocently introed her to fren C. Fren C took her number and dated her out. Fren A came back from business trip and found out and was very pissed and screwed(metaphorically) fren C and me. He feels that we are in cahoots to steal his girl when he was out of singapore. Now we are no longer on talking terms. What is wrong with fren A? screw the brudderhood for a slut?
  2. Just came across this while searching online. Seems like the incident happened December 2010. Wonder if driver is from this forum. Anyway, he was charged and fined 18600thb in court and given back passport after a month. Just to share. http://rastforum.com/index.php?topic=642.0 Hello Everyone, I am new in here. Just a brief introduction of myself and why am i in here. I am from Singapore and currently i am being detained in Phuket Thailand, Please allow me to share with you, what actually happened. With a group of friends, that are keen 4x4 drivers, we drove from Singapore, via Malaysia to Phuket Thailand. With the need to communicate in the convoy, we were all using walkie talkies in our cars, as it was expensive to communicate via mobile phones. All went well when we crossed the international border into Thailand, but my nightmare started when we were driving in Phuket Island on the 1st of December and we were stopped at a routine roadblock at Kamala checkpoint in Phuket. I was detained as i was using a handheld Yaesu FT60 Walkie talkie and i found out at the moment that it was illegal to use this in thailand. Despite my explainations that i was using it for car to car communications and i was unaware that a license was required to bring or use it in thailand, it fell on deaf ears. The Officer asked me for a bribe of 20,000bt to let me go, but i politely explained to him that i didnt have that much cash on me and it was in the hotel room. We couldnt' communicate well and therefore i made a call to the Singapore embassy in Thailand and asked the officer to translate for me. After passing the phone to the officer and after my embassy has spoken to the thai police officer, i was detained and driven to the police station where i was thrown into the prison lock up for a night. I was susbquently released on bail the next day, when my Singaporean friends bailed me out for a whopping 100,000 bt, the thai cell mate that shared the cell with me, was locked up for possesion of drugs and his bail was only 40,000 bt. I was told to report back on the police station on the 9th of december when my understanding was that i would be sent to the court to face the sentence. but it wasn't the case, i was instead taken to the thai immigration department to extend my passport where i paid 1900bt to extend my passport and had to give 500bt to the policeman as "service charge". Up to today, i do not know my charge and i was told that i had to remain in thailand and unable to return to thailand for like 1-2months while they investigate and send the walkie talkie for investigations and testing. I have since engaged a lawyer and he is doing all his best to get me home. right now, i am stranded in phuket thailand and unable to return home because of a possession of a walkie talkie. I do not know how soon i can return home but i really do miss home and just want to get home asap. I might risk losing my job back in Singapore and my finances are drying up even as i stay in Phuket. This is my 3rd time visiting Phuket, and it is indeed a beautiful country with lovely people, throughout my ordeal. I have met and made new friendships with the thai people. i am appealing to all in this forum for any form of assistance, advice. It was suppose to be a holiday but it turned into a nightmare. As a tourist, there was no way that i would ever be aware of such "strict" laws governing the use of walkie talkies in thailand. Best Regards
  3. It would be tragic if one day either side did not back down and conflict occurs.. But from the military enthusiast's point of view, it will be interesting to see the outcome of a Flanker vs Falcon showdown. 6. The cleanup is great news. If only the poor people who got ripped off could claw back some of their monies. ----- Jul 7, 2011 Over 600 private schools have closed Stringent regulations lead to industry shakeup, but student numbers are up By Leow Si Wan THE number of private schools here is about a third of what it once was, following an industry shake-up triggered by more stringent quality standards required by the Private Education Act. Only 328 schools remain, down from the estimated 1,000 in December 2009. Student enrolment, however, has gone up, as the more established schools have expanded over the last couple of years. Private-school enrolment stood at 120,000 before December 2009 and 146,000 as at last month. These updates came from the Council for Private Education (CPE), set up nearly two years ago to clean up the private education sector, which had been hit by a spate of sudden closures of schools. Students were stranded midway through their studies, with thousands of dollars in fees locked up with the schools. Private schools have been given the last 18 months - until last month - to shape up in order to be registered to operate under the more demanding requirements. The 328 schools now still running are those which made the cut by, for example, having independent examination boards, transparent finances and adequately qualified teachers.

  12. i dunno what to say... banned from driving for 5yrs but posting out liao.. ban for wat  http://www.straitstimes.com/BreakingNews/S...ory_670713.html A JAPANESE financial controller was fined $6,000 and banned from driving for five years for causing the death of a motorcyclist in a road traffic accident. Goto Shobun, 37, pleaded guilty to negligently causing the death of Mr Ting Ee Boey, 50, while making a right turn from Lornie Road into Thomson Road on Aug 23, 2009. The court heard that he had failed to keep a proper lookout at the signalised cross-junction and encroached into the path of the motorcyclist who was proceeding straight from the opposite direction. Mr Ting died about 14 hours later of head injuries. Shobun's lawyer told the court in mitigation that the accident occurred as a result of a momentary lapse of concentration. He said his client, who has a law degree in Japan, has a spotless driving record, and is due to be posted out by end-month. Shobun could have been jailed for up to two years or fined or jailed and fined for causing death by doing a negligent act.
  13. Shud check this guy into Buangkok Hotel leh. How come authorities can't do anything when he poses a measure of danger to members of the public? ST Forum May 19, 2011 At wits' end over neighbour's disgusting habit I LIVE in Tampines. My neighbours have been extremely distressed by a man in his 40s, who throws plastic bags of urine from his unit on the eighth floor twice daily. According to residents in the area, the man has been mentally ill for more than 10 years and is taken care of by his family. His actions have caused unhappiness not only because of the stench and unhygienic conditions but also because of safety reasons. Recently, a foreign worker was drenched with urine while cleaning the block. Residents now fear that this may happen to their children who play in the common areas. Several police reports have been filed and letters of complaints written to the town council and the National Environment Agency. However, the authorities have not been able to alleviate the situation. Residents also approached the man's family but to no avail. We hope the authorities will resolve this issue. 16. SINGAPORE: The Workers' Party (WP) is crying foul over a leaflet sent by the People's Action Party's (PAP) Nee Soon Group Representation Constituency (GRC) team to the residents on Thursday. With minutes to go before midnight - just in time before Cooling Off Day kicked in - the WP posted a statement to rebut the allegations in the leaflet that the party was against home upgrading. The WP statement added: "This is misleading and mischievous. It was distributed just before the close of the campaign period, leaving little time for WP to respond and set the record straight." The newsletter, which was seen by Today, cited a blog post - dated Oct 20, 2009 - by WP East Coast GRC candidate Gerald Giam under a headline "WP's Housing Policy - it will reduce the value of your homes!" Mr Giam had said in his post: "HDB flats should remain no-frills public housing. There is no need to provide posh condo look-alikes." The leaflet also cited a media report last month, which quoted Mr Giam saying that the high prices of Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats were due to the past PAP's assets enhancement policy in the past 20 years. It said: "Their solution will crash housing prices - it will reduce the prices of your flats." It also described the WP's position as "simple". "It has a negative policy: Throw criticisms but it has no solutions!" The leaflet was signed off by PAP Nee Soon GRC candidates K Shanmugam, Lee Bee Wah, Lim Wee Kiak, Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim and Patrick Tay. When contacted late Thursday night, Dr Lim said the leaflet was only printed on Wednesday, after hearing the Opposition's take on issues. Hence, copies of it were distributed on Thursday, he added. He said that the team had planned to send out materials consistently over the nine-day campaigning period. When asked if it was a deliberate attempt to leave little time for WP to respond, Dr Lim said no. He added that his team had to "wait for the other party to rebut" what the PAP had raised earlier against its housing policies. In its statement, the WP provided a point-by-point rebuttal. Citing the example of upgrading in Hougang, the WP also explained that it was never against upgrading plans. Urging voters to read its manifesto, the WP explained that its stand was that public housing cannot be expected to have condo-like facilities or it will make home prices unaffordable. - TODAY --- http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/sin...1127104/1/.html

  19. It all started when STOMPer Julia took a portion of anchovies from a container that was placed outside a hawker stall in Clementi. Before they knew it, the China hawker couple started punching and hitting her family of three. Said Julia of what happened (Apr 14): "A China hawker couple at Food Loft Block 431 Clementi Ave 3 assaulted my family of three all because of some anchovies. This happened around 1pm yesterday. "One of my photos clearly shows a small table with a container of fried onions and another container of anchovies beside some trays outside the stall. After paying for the noodles, I took a small saucer and placed some anchovies onto it. "The lady owner started to raise her voice at me saying, 'You Singaporeans who are paying so little money want to have so much of everything'. "She kept on mumbling and complaining to the crowd and passers-by about me getting the little extra anchovies. "My point is if they didn't want to give the anchovies away, they should have kept the items inside and out of sight. My husband then took pictures of this woman grumbling and of the noodles. The woman complained to her husband and he came after us and assaulted all three of us. "We had to run for our dear life and they continued to chase us, kicking and banging on our locked car. The woman even stood in front of our car to stop us from driving away while her husband kicked and slammed the car from behind. "We rushed to SGH to see the doctor for my back and head injury sustained from a fall while trying to stop my husband from hitting them. Both of his eyes were swollen and my poor son got a blue-black under his right eye. The medical bill was S$180.00 and all because of some extra anchovies. We also made a police report later at night." According to Julia's husband, they decided to snap photos of the food and the stall as they wanted to make a report to NEA as the food did not seem clean. At this point, the China man came out and shouted, 'Why you taking picture?' He later started shoving Julia's husband around with his body and his own camera, telling him to 'sit down and be photographed'. In the middle of this, Julia's husband went to ask the China woman why she 'made the matter so big'. He held up the plastic container of anchovies, which she slammed down onto the table. This sparked off the assault, with the China couple punching Julia's family, including her 14-year-old son who tried to defend his father. The China man also used an object to hit the STOMPer's husband on his head. Julia's husband said he tried to defend himself from the man's punches, but his wife and even the coffeeshop owner prevented him from doing anything. The China couple is apparently known for their bad temper, the coffeeshop owner told him.
  20. Was driving around 50km/h on the CTE slip road to AMK Ave 1 around 7.40pm. My driver side wheel went over this big rock (Size of 3 fists). Couldn't avoid in time. The car went over quite loudly and with moderate force. Saw from the left side mirror - the rock exiting from the left side of the car. The tyres and rims look ok. Any advice on what else to check for? Thanks! Saw a Wish parked at the chevron markings with hazard lights on. Wonder if it kenna the rock?
  21. http://theowlcritic.blogspot.com/ Thursday, March 31, 2011 An 'Animal Farm' In Singapore For those who have not read Animal Farm, it was a story about farm animals who revolt and throw out their whip-wielding owner. The pigs, being the smartest, then run the farm. We will not spoil the book for you by revealing more, but here is how their propagandist, Squealer, justifies the pigs getting the milk and all the apples : "Comrades!" he cried. "You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organization of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples. Surely, comrades, surely there is no one among you who wants to see Jones come back?" Now if there was one thing that the animals were completely certain of, it was that they did not want Jones back. When it was put to them in this light, they had no more to say. The importance of keeping the pigs in good health was all too obvious. So it was agreed without further argument that the milk and the windfall apples (and also the main crop of apples when they ripened) should be reserved for the pigs alone. If you can tell the difference between Animal Farm's pigs and their taking all of the best things, and the PAP's politicians and the obscene amounts they are paying themselves, then we congratulate you. We cannot.
  22. S.Korean tyre maker probed over quality standards HONG KONG: South Korea's Kumho Tire, the biggest tyre supplier to carmakers in China , is conducting an internal investigation following a report that its tyres failed to meet quality standards. According to a Chinese state television report, Kumho used more material from unfinished tyres than allowed, to save on costs. The report has sparked anxiety among some large automakers because Kumho counts the likes of General Motor and Peugeot Citroen as clients. According to the report, the tyre maker used excessive amounts of recycled tyres as raw materials in its manufacturing facility in Tianjin. That could cause the tyres to rupture. China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is said to be conducting its own probe into the matter. A Kumho spokesperson has come out to say that the company would cooperate with investigators . The spokesperson defended the company's practice of using a percentage of recycled rubber on new tyres, insisting that there are no safety issues. Kumho currently has four tyre plants on the mainland. As the world's biggest auto market today, China is also Kumho's biggest growth market, accounting for some 30 per cent of global sales. Some automakers have already started to distance themselves from the tyre maker. Volkwagen Shanghai said none of its cars uses Kumho tyres while Hyundai Motor's Beijing venture is also investigating the claims. General Motors Shanghai said it would handle consumer complaints and inquiries into the matter. Shares in Kumho on Thursday fell nearly eight per cent in Seoul on the news. -CNA/wk http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/cor...1117147/1/.html
  23. Duno kena shot down down or mechanical fault... From CNA: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/afp...1118182/1/.html US jet crashes in Libya, crew unhurt BERLIN: A US F-15 jet crashed in Libya due to a technical fault late Monday while enforcing a no-fly zone and both its crew ejected safely, the US Africa command said Tuesday. "Two crew members ejected from their US Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle when the aircraft experienced equipment malfunction over northeast Libya, March 21, 2011 at approximately 10:30 pm CET (2130 GMT)," the command, based in the western German city of Stuttgart, said in a statement. "Both crew members ejected and are safe... The cause of the incident is under investigation." A command spokeswoman, Nicole Dalrymple, told AFP the crew had sustained minor injuries and that one had been recovered while an operation to pick up the second was ongoing. She said the crash was not a result of hostile action and an investigation to determine the cause of the malfunction was underway. The aircraft, based out of Lakenheath, England, was flying out of Aviano air base in northeastern Italy. A US military official told AFP that one of the crew members was recovered by an Osprey, a hybrid aircraft which is both a transport plane and also has vertical take-off and landing capability like a helicopter. It had taken off from the USS Kearsarge amphibious assault ship off the coast of Libya. The other crew member was with rebel forces and was "in good hands," the official said. Western forces pounded strongholds of Libyan leader Muammar al-Gaddafi for a third night under a UN Security Council resolution authorising all necessary means to stop Gaddafi's forces harming civilians as they battle a rebellion. Coalition officials expressed satisfaction with progress in degrading Gaddafi's air defences. A senior US general said the strikes begun on Saturday night could diminish but the UN-mandated no-fly zone would be extended to the whole country. -AFP/wk
