  1. Just bought a used Hyundai Elantra 2011 model. Left about 2 years. So far quite a comfy drive. Pumped full tank about closed to 40litre. Not sure how much distant it can cover though. Any Elantra users here to share more info and your good and bad points?
  2. This survey was done overseas but it’s interesting to see quite a few so called luxury cars in the list and specifically BMWs.. https://www.autoblog.com/photos/top-11-cars-that-are-resold-in-the-first-year/#slide-7556521 What do you think arethe top ten cars people will sell after a year’s ownership? And why? Poor reliability? Good trade in? Change in COE price?
  3. Hi Everyone, a shout-out to all fellow Altis owners. We are organizing an event on 19 May 2018 at Stamford Lok Yang, so do join us if you are available
  4. If anyone had bought new LG mobile phones, pls take note. I dont know if it is just my family or is LG phones' motherboard issue. My family have 4 LG phones, my G4 and 3 V10 for my children, the motherboard of my G4 gave up its will to live after 10 months with me. I took it back to LG service centre and a new one was replaced. Last month, after CNY, with 11 months of usage, one V10 gave up, took it back and motherboard replaced. This morning a 2nd V10 is down, totally cannot boot up and I suspect is motherboard again. This one is one week left before warranty expire. I just told the 3rd V10 to stand by and back up everything, prepare for the last one to join the dead club, only different is this last one may be out of warranty. 75% down rate within a year for LG, while we have no problem with iphones and Samsung phones, could it be our handling of the phone? Anyway, I just wanted to highlight to anyone holding a new LG phone, back up your stuffs, the phone may just shut down permanently without warning. And now I have to sign out and drive to the LG service centre again.
  5. Hi, I would like to reach out to all of you who owns a JDM sports car meet, like how our neighbours have it. Even if yours is not a sport car but of rarity, please include yourself in too. We could mass order parts which would be cheaper to buy and ship from the same distributor in Japan, US or UK. TUNING? Aim is to bring back the nostalgic sports car meets back in the days of Kallang Carpark. Drift outings or practice Autox, Gymkana at our neighbours or safe location. Which may have a food destination. If you are feeling charitable we could organise something for social welfare as well. Is an open discussion and I would like to start the ball rolling. It also would be interesting to see what gems we have in Singapore as well. If your car is not in there like Daihatsu or Datsun, kindly include. Honda Mazda 1. Mazda RX-8 Type RS - Sw20 Mitsubishi Nissan Toyota Subaru

  12. Duo behind The Real Singapore website arrested for sedition Two of the three people behind The Real Singapore (TRS), a socio-political website, have been arrested. This follows a Feb 4 article where the duo are said to have embellished an article posted by a witness of an incident during the recent Thaipusam festival. The TRS article had claimed a Filipino family had sparked an exchange which led to three Singaporean men being arrested on Feb 3. But no Filipino family was involved. The original author of the article also denied the involvement of a Filipino family. Police confirmed the arrest of a Singaporean, 26 and an Australian woman, 22. The two were arrested on Feb 6 under the Sedition Act and investigations into the case are ongoing. Read the full report in our print edition Feb 18. http://www.tnp.sg/news/duo-behind-real-singapore-website-arrested-sedition

  16. A monthly average of 28 vehicle owners have been fined since 2010 for headlamp non-compliance. This number includes the unauthorised installation of High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps. Minister for Transport Lui Tuck Yew revealed this in a written reply to Member of Parliament (MP) for Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC Zainal Sapari. Citing records from the Traffic Police, Mr Lui added there have been no accidents caused by drivers dazzled by light from other vehicles since 2005. HID headlamps can improve the visibility of drivers compared with standard halogen lamps. Since January 1, 2010, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) made it compulsory for all newly-registered vehicles with HID headlamps to be equipped with an auto-levelling feature. LTA said the feature helps reduce glare to drivers of oncoming vehicles without compromising the improved visibility the headlamps offer to drivers. Mr Lui said LTA enforcement officers look out for vehicles fitted with very bright headlamps that do not comply with its requirements. Owners of non-complying vehicles face a maximum penalty of S$1,000 fine and three months' jail. For subsequent offenders, they face up to S$2,000 fine and six months' jail.
