  4. I wonder why does some car owners likes to add extra lighting to the exterior of their car? It's not as if those lighting will give them a clearer view at night. They themselves even can't see the light while driving ... duh.... I'm sure the public will not appreciate with such light decor cos it's very distracting to other road users. Some even decorated their car like some deities procession float!

  9. STOMPer RockyCookie was traumatised when an unleashed dog ruthlessly attacked him one month ago. Little did he expect the initially minor wound to exacerbate so severely that he has since undergone two surgeries and has yet to recover. In an email sent on May 10, RockyCookie says: "It's been a month since the attack and things had to get worse before they get better. "The doctor attending to my case at the clinic did not take any action to clean up the wound further nor try to see what could be the cause for the swelling. "The nurses cleaning my wound insisted that there was no infection and took me off antibiotics. "A day later, my dad took me to my family doctor who cut away some dead tissue and found that the wound was deeper than initially thought. "The doctor urgently referred me to TTSH Orthopaedics. After a series of blood tests and four x-rays, I was sent home. "The next morning, my whole foot swelled up to a point where my ankle was no longer visible and I couldn't even put any pressure on it. "I was rushed to the hospital, where I was put on painkillers and antibiotics. During my two-week-stay there, I had two surgeries to remove the infected tissue and drain the fluids before getting seven stitches to close the wound. "The injury from the bottom jaw was excised in an area of about 5.5cm by 4.5cm with a depth of 0.7cm. This wound cannot be stitched and I opted for natural healing over skin graft since there is no point in giving me another injury to manage. "Apparently the dog's teeth went in deep and curved against the direction of the superficial skin tear towards my ankle and this led to a build up of infection that the antibiotics could not cure. My foot was attached to a vacuum pump that sucked out any fluids. "I won't be able to walk for about one month and cannot wear shoes for the next eight weeks. "The wound is expected to completely close up in about four months. "I was also advised to drop a university module, delaying my graduation by six months and disrupting my plans for further study. "Until today, there has been not a single word or appearance from the family whose dog attacked me. The police are still conducting their investigation and so is AVA. "I am extremely disappointed that even after a month, that family has no courtesy to even come by to see how things are. "All costs incurred to my dogs and me from the attack is already a five-digit amount and will only get higher." http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...ected_foot.html Apparently the owner of the dog didnt even mention anything or visit the victim at all! Lawyers, do we have any legal recourse against such people? Will the court order the dog to be put down?
  10. I'm a new Forte owner... from the owner's manual, it stated the for Europe countries, the recommended petrol is 95, although 91 can also be use but may result in loss of power... for non-Europe, the recommended is 91. My SE told me that the recommended is 95... but this is different from the owner's manual. So, I would like to find out what type of petrol you guys are using. Btw, any idea why is there a difference for Europe and non-Europe? Different engine used???
  11. Hi Forumers Bro, I'm looking for ODC owners who are able to share your in poisoning your beloved assets. It seems that there are not much local forum where we can share opinions on ODC and get some ideas or even meet up TCSS session... I just bought myself a 09 model ODC and wish to get some parts to poison my ride. Anyone knows which shops give a reasonable price for Original Mugen Accessories such as ventilated door visor.... Any idea where can we go to add on some LED lights for my ride
  12. No, this isn't a joke. Really. Automotive News reports that BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer shared this statistic during a call with analysts last week. It is unclear where this information came from within BMW, but it still comes as a staggering surprise that 80 (eighty!) percent of 1 Series owners believe that they are living with front-wheel drive. As we reported earlier, BMW is planning to bring front-wheel-drive vehicles to market in the near future, and the automaker is worried that it might confuse customers by adding these new products to the rear-drive-only lineup. Guess not. We firmly believe that all current 1 Series owners who think their car is front-wheel drive should hand over their keys immediately... to us.
  13. Care to share what's your insurance premium like? Thanks!
  14. Hi guys, Are there any owners of the new Kia Rio 06 here? How do you find the car in terms of quality/performance and FC? Is general servicing @ C&C expensive? Was quoted $51K for the 1.6A HB sports model which comes with bodykit, leather and 15" sport rims; SE is willing to throw in alarm, reverse sensor & solar film. For those who have the bodykit, do you have any issues with the rear spoiler warping or muffler tip melting the rear bumper? It seems that different shipments comes with different spec level, there are models with/without armrest, power side mirrors, reverse cam and tweeters. Thanks
  15. CNA HDB takes action against 56 flat owners for illegal sub-letting SINGAPORE : The Housing and Development Board (HDB) has taken action against 56 flat owners for illegal sub-letting between January 2008 and December last year. Most were fined between S$1,000 and S$21,000. One owner had his flat repossessed for blatantly flouting HDB's sub-letting rules. Giving details of the case, HDB said it first received feedback on the unauthorised sub-letting of a unit in Block 336 Bukit Batok Street 32 on November 11 last year. The flat was bought by Poh Boon Kay, who is a registered real estate agent. His wife was listed as an occupier. He purchased the four-room flat from the open market in June 2007 without any loan. HDB said the couple are also owners of five private properties. Its investigations found that the flat was sublet without its prior approval to three couples. Mr Poh and his family did not live in the flat. He was informed on November 25 to take immediate steps to evict the unauthorised sub-tenants, failing which HDB would take compulsory acquisition action. However, the subtenants continued to occupy the flat. A notice to compulsorily acquire the flat was then served on December 23. Mr Poh informed HDB on the same day that the sub-tenants had signed an undertaking to vacate the flat by the end of December. A day later, the couple appealed. He claimed that the sub-tenant needed time to work out his finances before buying over the flat from Mr Poh. He had therefore decided to rent out the flat to the sub-tenants in the interim. On January 5, when the couple was interviewed by HDB, they claimed they did not know that they needed to seek the board's prior approval before subletting the flat. They also claimed that they were not aware of the policy for flat owners to fulfil the Minimum Occupation Period (MOP) of three years before they were eligible to sublet the whole flat. HDB's further investigations have shown that Mr Poh is also related to two other cases of unauthorised subletting at Bukit Batok and Telok Blangah. With these further instances of unauthorised subletting related to Mr Poh, his claims that he is "unaware" of HDB rules cannot be substantiated. HDB said as he has blatantly flouted HDB's rules, there are no grounds for leniency and legal action has been taken to compulsorily acquire the flat. HDB will also be taking legal action to compulsorily acquire the other two flats. HDB would like to emphasise the severity of unauthorised subletting. HDB flats are meant for owner occupation. Flat owners who wish to sublet their whole flat must obtain approval from HDB and fulfil the MOP. The current MOP for the subletting of flats is as follows: *Flats bought directly from HDB - 5 years *Resale flats purchased with CPF Housing Grant - 5 years *Resale flats purchased without CPF Housing Grant - 3 years - CNA/ms These owners still dunno how to die.... http://www.propertyguru.com.sg/listing/788...innnacle-duxton http://www.propertyguru.com.sg/listing/854...pinnacle-duxton http://www.propertyguru.com.sg/listing/858...pinnacle-duxton http://www.propertyguru.com.sg/listing/853...innacles-duxton http://www.propertyguru.com.sg/listing/784...innacles-duxton

  18. have been looking at used car ads in sgcarmart. called a "direct owner" selling his car and turns out he is actually a car dealer. what a turn off. looked closer at some "owner" ads and some seems to be dealer as well (eg. offering trade-in, loans, etc). why these people pretend to be owners? should i have any concerns buying from them? my initial reaction is that if he can't even be open about who he is and his company name, how can i feel comfortable buying a car from him....
  19. http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/listing.php?...1=0&PR2=&FR=Any Less than 2 year since its launch in 2004, I see so many Pica for sale. Last nite was at Turf City and saw at least 6 Pica at the dealerships there for sale. Are the owners selling 'cos its underpowered or too small and cannot serve its purpose, eg. New born child, need more space etc.
  20. Just want a show of hands of fellow Exiga owners in MCF! Hope to find enough khakis for kopi and mod sessions!
  21. Hello, Am wondering any CIVIC 06 Bros or Sis still signing up with AXA via the agent WINNERS? I am due to renew my insurance end Jan 2010. Hence, looking around for a better deal then the current quote they gave for the renewal. Somehow I got a feeling AXA/WINNERS are not trying hard enough to retain existing customers with attractive quotes.
  22. Happy New Year to all Celica owners and fans. Wish you all a happy and prosperous new year.

  24. ..since we are on the task of looking at owners, this serius one har....dun pray x2 Has HONDA successfully changed the Honda brand AWAY from the rice-boy persona? You see, I remember that Honda wanted to change the image of honda owners having a rice-boy image to a more responsible one...like that of an er...er 'uncle' I see more and more of the 'middle-aged' owning hondas now as opposed to the prev EG, EK, CRX, etc... your views, please.
