  4. Enquire Proton sg at Tts for diagnose to know what parts need to replace is SGD50 while at Larkin Svc Ctr is around RM85-95.My Saga BLM after 5 years got faulty Intake Air Fuel Module sensor problem. When drive for about 15-20 mins idling will hear diesel like clattering sound.Proton sg also no idea how much does the sensor cost cause have to ask Malaysia side.Hot whether will consume a bit of fuel cause of hot air not well regulated. My Exora also siao2 last 4 months already change abs sensor now appear again..Suspect batt nearly weak.Think fanbelt also need to replace Liao..

  9. What I like about Motor Shows are concept cars. In fact, if a motor show is devoid of concept cars it would feel as if the event is lacking something. It feels like having fish & chips without the tartar sauce or having a hot dog without relish, and mustard. So when the Kuala Lumpur Motor Show 2010 (KLIMS) had on display a whole lot of concept cars, it felt like a proper motor show. Of course, not all look like the Lotus Esprit concept pictured above These are the Good, the So-so and the Really Horrid. The Good Perodua - The Bezza, a very Toyota-esque concept car. Not surprised if it actually is a Toyota/Daihatsu with the badging changed. If it isn't, Perodua in-house design division has improved tremendously. Toyota
  10. If you hear light squeaking sound during cold start its probably the fanbelt as the sound will go off once you drive about 3-4 minutes.Better to change those quality Japan type of belt cause most Campro models like Gen2,Persona,Saga Blm and first batch Exora cps got only half layer of cover under the fanbelt itself thus water will easily went in during raining when u drive. Those mitsuboshi type belt is Malaysia made not Japan thus the quality is so so.As for my saga I did change to a better Japan type in 2011 and its still working fine till now.Now my 2010 Exora need to replace Liao.

  13. hi all, thinking of renting MPV for a roadtrip for my family up to north this year end and i had listed down this 2 MPV from europcar rental in Jb. Anybody in this forum had driven this two car before? Which one is a better rent? in term of comfort for cruising NSH, power for cameron/genting slope, spacious to comfortably fit in 8 ppl? from what i heard, the kia carnival is well known for breaking down is it true? Please advice me. Regards
  14. Proton has launched the Proton Preve (pronounced 'Prevay' or something like that), its latest small sedan in Malaysia. The model previewed was the top of the range Preve CFE that is equipped with a 140hp/205Nm turbocharged 1.6-litre 4 cylinder engine coupled to 7speed CVT transmission (with paddle shifts) driving its front wheels. This is supposedly Proton's 'Global Car', they have thrown a whole lot of development (and goodies - stop start, rain sensor wipers, auto lights, LEDs, turbocharging, touch screen GPS/multimedia etc. etc) and after test driving one I must say that this could be the first non-Mitsubishi designed Proton that I actually like driving and one that has no major flaws compared to what was offered previously. There are minor flaws like still having no external boot release button (aside from the one inside the car and on the remote) and some cheap plastics, but most cars at this price range do anyway. With the earlier Proton that were designed in-house, one would suffer from quality issues, ergonomic flaws and bad material choice, resulting in a horrid driving experience even though the cars actually handled and rode exceptionally well. I suppose it is the 'Handling By Lotus' that has made this possible. But they had not resolved the ridiculous ergonomics and build quality. Hence the hobbit-like driving position in the Proton Satria Neo, the ridiculously low set steering wheel in the Proton Waja and Proton Gen2 and the appaling plastics in the Satria Neo again. The Proton Preve has changed that. Slightly. The main controls are good to the touch and materials used on the top half of the dashboard is pretty good. The dark 'wood' trim makes the car look slightly upscale and the air-con vents are nice. The bottom half of the dashboard however isn't that convincing and utilises cheaper plastics, especially the loosely fitting coin box to the right of the steering column. I suppose they've done what most manufacturers do these days

  18. Hi all, Does anyone knows how to dismantle the Wira Speedometer for repair? My brother's Wira's speedometer isn't working most of the time and the odometer (mileage) is confirmed not working. Even if that day the speedometer is working, the odometer doesn't increase already. The mechnics suggested replacing the whole speedometer S$300? But i did a quick check online and saw alot of ppl complaining about the same thing. Speedometer sometimes not working but odometer dead. But someone managed to take it apart and reassembled it and it worked. So I guess this could be because some of the parts inside is loose or fell out of place. I think I might be able to help him find a cheaper speedometer in JB but I worry this is a chronic problem and keeps coming back. Maybe all the used spare parts shops need to do is reassemble them and resell it again. I've also done a quick check in MCF but couldn't managed to search for anything. Appreciate some advise. Thanks.
  19. I supposed to go for last free servicing this month.. tried email them countless times to fix a date but no reply at all now. dont have their new numer to call. anyone can advise?
  20. http://www.mycarforum.com/blog/myautoblog/...he-proton-prev/ Pretty cool looking I must say. Looks a little like the Honda City but better. 140HP for a 1.6L is pretty good and 205NM torque is as much as a 2L Engine! Wonder what mods are available for the CFE engine...lol...
  21. http://www.hanzoautobuzz.com/2011/07/exclu...cs-in-malaysia/ this hot hatch looks really cool and may be the successor to Neo. Its rumoured to have a 1.6L supercharged engine. cool!! Most likely using Sprintex SC.
  22. Oh No. The Lotus group, makers of the Lotus Elise, Exige and Evora is rumoured to be in trouble. It seems that DRB-Hicom, the Malaysian conglomerate that owns Group Lotus' parent company, Proton may want to free itself from the wrangles of trying to turn around the sports car company. According to industry followers, notably F1 reporter Joe Saward, the management of DRB-Hicom somehow does not think that owning Lotus makes financial sense and may sell off its stake in Lotus to China Youngman, a company that already has ties with Proton. This news comes after the Lotus F1 team terminated a sponsorship agreement with Group Lotus but also stated that it had struck a five-year deal with Lotus
