I just got my car back on last Saturday 13 Sep. after new spray of paint to whole car HOwever, the paintwork finishes seems rough instead and when look closely like lot of dot pixel. Also, many swirl marks (some fine and some deep) caused by the paint shop. According to paint shop, they claimed that the paint work not fully dry and need 2 weeks for completely dry up. The pixel surface with swirl mark can be cured and improve when i go back for 2nd polish by them. I using "Glasurit" lacquer which is used by Mercedes cars. Doesn't seems to have the crystal wet look finishes than those mercedes on the road. Anyone is expert in this area? can you advise me?

The left side-skirt on my 9-3SS is scratched (abt 30cm)and the paint has come off after an encounter with a kerb. Could anyone advise of a place to re-spray my side-skirt? Should i send it back to trans eurokars or send to an alternative panel beater? Price should be reasonable and affordable. Thank you.

hi! i have tried perma-glass on my car which s like 9 yr old. doesn't seem to have that type of shine. I applied it using by hand at 1st. then seems not good enough then i applied another coat using buffer machine. Also not much difference though. Period to application of the perma-glass, i wash the car. Is it necessary to wax and polish b4 applying the perma-glass? How is this perma-glass compare to the others say like zaino, autoglym products? re they of the same ingredients? Is Higloss88 any good? I'm in the process of getting my new car. Can i wax it 1st then put sealant? pls advise. kluv maurice

Hi, My car (2 left-side doors) was scratched badly by the car park walls and the paint came off. Where should I go to do the repair? Anyone knows any reliable workshops? How much will it cost to do the patch up? Would anyone recommend Autoglym? Thanks!

If I look closely at my paint, there are extremely small specks on the black paint.. It is kind of similar to the "chicken skin" you get when its cold, except much smaller. What can this mean? My car had a bad paint job? It is especially visible on the top of the car... Probably because of extensive sun? By the way, today I've tried the 4 steps system... wash -> clay -> cleaner -> polish ->wax The conclusion is.... 1. Buy a random orbital buffer. 2. Fixing paint chips will help the look of the car much better than cleaning the surface. 3. Buy micro fibre cloth.. Extremely good for picking up polish, wax, cleaner. 4. Meguairs Scratch X is excellant product... I rubbed it on one spot full of swirls, and I get a smooth scratchless spot. Good rubber, and designed such that you won't rub too much off.

Hi Dudes, Just some update on DIY using Hammerite Paint on decorative Aluminium mesh for the front grille ... Bought a small can of "Hammer Black" Hammerite paint at Home-Fix for about $10. The manufacturer claims that Hammerite paint is able to paint over all sorts of material including slippery Aluminium and even Rust. Opened it last night and started painting. The paint is quite liquid out of the can, but when it gets onto your brush and then onto the metal, it turns quite STICKY. Need to work fast to spread the paint evenly. Completed the whole grille in about 20 minutes and left to dry. Have a bit of problems reaching the tiny crevices/corners of the grille as the paint is not that fluid. So need to check and do second coat to ensure evenness. By next morning, paint is dry enough to handle. Can even bend the aluminium without the paint flaking off. I will install the grille within the next few days before the paint fully cures. BTW, the grille feels good, as if its been coated with a layer of rubber/plastic. Looks professionally done even with an amateur painter. [angelic] According to the instructions of the can, paint will take up to 6 weeks to cure. Oh yes, need to get good thinner as the paint is super sticky and difficult to wash off the brush. Will be finding more uses for the paint. But in the meantime, anybody wants to try "Hammer Black" Hammerite paint, I still got a whole can left! p.s. Doc, how about painting your grille RED, WHITE and GREEN like the italian flag?!
