Recently, i was conned into doing up my wifes car in water based paint rather than the time proven regular German or european paint job. I took my car down to a so called reputable shop in the area of Thomson to get my Bodykit and a so called professional paint job done. This is was the start of my problems... The Body kit given to my 1 year old continental car was actually an FRP --that means fibre glass content, the price was ridiculously high, although , i was stupid enough to believe the nice talking SE...without even any credentials ,to entrust my car with them....as they carry a lot of high end brands. The fittings of the work was bad and the paint work shoddy!!! I should have sent my car to those recommended in the internet here!!! I resend my car back to do up at least 7 times ....and the so called manager of the so - called high -tech reputable company can only say that it was state of the art, thus require more time! More time!!! Hows this for more time?? A panel or 2 to be redone requires another 5 days of down time!! Whats more, the finishing under scrutiny with my untrained eye showed UNEVENESS in the colour and last of all SWIRL marks which was still there..... WTF!!!! The entire car was done in a "record" time of almost one month!! Not that it wasn't my fault in the first place....should have gone back to the one in Eunos to redo, now on hindsight against my better judgement!! Thats it for me ---water based crap paint... I wont even recommend them to my friends!! Now my paint job is still BLURRY ! and the shine is Crap!!! After checking up the info by the net ,,,water based paints are only used cause there will be less lead or toxins released to the atmosphere ,,so the Earth will be greener. SO WHAT!!! My car still is crappy and i should have stuck to the regular European time proven ones!! Sheeezzesh!!!! Any one here has the same BAD experience or is it only me??

Hi bros, any lobang on getting painters to paint my house? My friend gave me a lobang but he return back to his home country liao. Trying to save some cost as my contractor is charging me $1400 for painting the whole house... Cheers.

As per topic suggests. My area MSCP is undergoing painting works and my car is parked there. Just recently, I saw my ride at rear side is covered by many of the paint specks and cannot be removed by claybar. I do not know what is the correct procedure to remove to remove these specks safely since this is unsightly if my ride is in black. Any advice?

I think the STOMPer was too harsh to the owner/driver. For what you know the owner/driver may be a victim of mischief or involved in a feud with someone. He or she may not even know the licence plate had been tampered with. Initially I thought the licence plate paint had simply faded off but from the other pictures it seemed it was being sprayed over. So if you know the owner/driver of this Altis just let him or her know. Hello everyone, I recently sent vehicle back to agent to rectify a leaking issue. Water pump and several clips were replaced. 2 weeks ln, I notice coolant level is dropping rapidly again and it now smells like paint thinner, there is also an oily film on the surface. What can cause sweet smelling coolant to turn into an oily liquids which smells like paint thinner? Some gasket leak? Thanks.

Hi All, I drive a Lancer. I guess I fitted the usual air perfume in a slightly tilted angle couple of days ago and it leaked and caused the paint below the a/c vents corrode and look extremely ugly That panel is a plastic item with a glossy paint and criss cross design in white paint (In short looks like carbon fibre sticker but its not stickered but painted that way). I went to C&C this morning to check if that panel can be replaced but they suggested that I try outside workshops who can do a touch up and restore the panel. Any bro's who has had experiences restoring that portion before and any recommendations. Thanks again for all your help...

Usual practice is fix bodykit already then send for painting? What are the issues if I paint already then fix? One advantage is no downtime for the car.

Car has some paint splattered (some are fine dots whereas some are quite big like five cents coin and even a long one) which i suspect is from the paint used for the multi carpark upgrading. Those that landed on the windscreens and plastic parts can be easily scrapped off fortunately. Question: 1. Whats the best way to remove these unwanted paint? Thinner, machine polish, etc? 2. Possible to provide feedback to Town Council/HDB for compensation due to negligence of the workers? Appreciate advise from those that have similar experience.

I have a rusty rotor..... it is getting on my nerve. I know it is normal for the contact area with the caliper to be rusty.... But my whole rotor is freaking rusty including the area that is joining the wheel hub. I just change my stock rotor to "Brembo After market" and it freaking rust badly. Can anyone recommend me a shop that does painting for the rotor. thanks

I had made a left turn too early, car mounted a high kerb and there was a deep long dent(about 6inch) at the car body below the passenger door, paint also falls off. Can anyone recommend me a good and trusted workshop to restore this? Thanks in advance -
Hi MCF, I forget what's the number and address for this cheap workshop located in Sin Ming industrial estate. It is run by an uncle, he specialises in bumper repair and painting for a very small fraction of money compared to other workshop. I had my boot repaired by him 1 year ago. Some how, lost his number and address. Asking on behalf of my brother in law, as he got into a 50/50 accident with another party. -

any kind soul can tell me where can i buy spray paint for rims.....gotta be matt black.....this colleague of mine only brush her rims....got fine scratches only....keep bothering me where to buy matt black spray paint so she can DIY....either spray can or brush apply....either one also can.....tks tks i attach some pics so any kind soul can really guide me where can get such paint, otherwise day in day out she kept talking about it

Is it possible to strip paint off the car before respraying? This is because the previous owner of my car when to spray the car grey (originally red). However the paint job was poorly done. I was replacing the rubber seals along the rear window (its a sealed quarter panel). Upon removing the panel, the paint along the edges simply peeled off! I can see the original paint intact beneath. Its as if the new paint never stick onto the original paint. Due to this, I am just thinking of removing the grey paint and restoring the car back to red colour.
