  1. I got one extra tix to this event. I've been spending the past few days finding people to go with me, but sadly they either not free or don't watch football (a lot of my friends don't watch football. Shocking). I give up finding people liao. I think I'm just gonna offer my extra ticket away, then go myself. Anybody interested? Details of the event here: Sentosa World Cup Festival
  2. BANGKOK, April 26, 2010 (AFP) - Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva's ruling party moved closer to possible dissolution Monday as an election body submitted a case against it to court. The case, which centres on allegations of misuse of a grant from the Election Commission, comes amid a tense standoff between the government and 'Red Shirt' protesters that has left 26 people dead and almost 1,000 injured. The Election Commission earlier this month called for Abhisit's Democrat Party - the oldest in the country - to be abolished over two allegations of an illegal political donation in 2005 and misuse of a commission grant. Fifty boxes of documents relating to the second count were sent to the Constitutional Court on Monday afternoon. "The court will consider whether and when the hearing should start," said Thanis Sriprathet, the commission's deputy secretary general, adding that there was no time frame for a decision. The other case, which involves allegations of an illegal multi-million-dollar donation to the Democrat Party during 2005 elections, will be forwarded to the Attorney General, who has 30 days to consider it. Thanis said the body was preparing the documents related to that case and expected to send them to the office of the Attorney General by early May. The party has said it will challenge the commission's recommendation, which refers to a donation made when Abhisit was its deputy leader. The Red Shirts, who have been holding mass rallies in Bangkok for weeks, accuse the government of being undemocratic because it came to power in 2008 after the Constitutional Court ousted allies of ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
  3. Mon, Mar 22, 2010 The Star/Asia News Network SOME insurance companies in Johor are recruiting female agents to have sex with potential customers, Guang Ming Daily re-ported. The companies also arranged for the agents to party with the would-be clients at nightclubs and karaoke outlets. Sources told the newspaper that the female agents were recruited among divorcees, single mothers or those helping their boyfriends repay debts. "These are women who will do anything for money," the sources said, adding that the agents went after middle-aged small entrepreneurs who were not very highly educated. Agents who failed to "hit" their targets would be punished by having to "showcase" themselves in adult diapers or lingerie. They were also forced to pay fines of between RM1,000 and RM3,000 to their company.

    Party Games

As mentioned above, was bugged by my gf to help her think of some party games for a group of about 30 people. I thk the usual charade, dog and bone game are rather boring and uninteresting. Any ideas guys? I was thinking of zhong ji mi ma...as shown in those taiwan game shows where 1 person memorises a number and the rest starts to shout out the numbers in between and the numbers get narrower, the one who guess the number right will have to do forfeit... Others still got Truth or Dare...tongue twister... Any other games that are fun and interesting guys?

  9. hi all, would like to ask can i get 3rd party insurance if i am getting a 3yr old OPC Picanto?
  10. Hi read this article from ST, What's the point of motor insurance? I WAS taken aback when my motor insurance premium shot up from $695 last year to $4,098.13. I called my insurance agent and insurance company. I was told a third-party claim of $21,400 against me was pending and because of this, I had to pay a hefty premium. I find this hard to understand. Why would one buy motor insurance if such was the case? I paid only $100 to repair my car after the accident. The other party initially agreed to settle the matter, but changed her mind after she visited her workshop. Subsequently, I received a claim for slightly more than $21,000 officially. How do I seek help and protection? Eddie Low Accident do happens, so what is the role of motor Insurance if they do not protect their customers?
  11. I wonder does it make sense to only insure for 3rd party, fire & theft once there is no body value for the car? Ultimately, why pay more for comprehensive when the insurer would only re-imburse at market value (which is essentially scrap value for most bread & butter cars past 5 years nowadays) and the value has also dropped so much that it doesn't seem to justify the high premium for so low value coverage. In the worse case, scrap the car ourselves and get back the $$$ rather than repair. Why pay premium for insurer so do what one can do ourselves. What are your thoughts?

  15. Hi all, need some advice. I got into an accident just now but the other party refuse to provide his NRIC but provided his handphone number. We agreed verbally to settle ourselves, he will fix his own car and i will fix mine, without involving insurance as premium will be higher. Should I go and make a police report and detail down our conversation and forward the report to the insurance so that in future, the other party will not be able to make a claim from me? If i do that, will the insurance be higher next year?
  16. Any ideas where can i rents dis two items ??? need about 50 chairs n ard 5 tables ... . Roughly how much per/pc ahh?

  18. Just read the following for asia1.com. Another of those said-like-dont-said speech from the Lee... when he mentioned PAP continue to evolve... my impression is that he meant evolving to be more elite!!! 2-party system won't work A TWO-PARTY system will not work in Singapore, which is much better off with 'one dominant, clean and good party,' said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Sunday. But he acknowledged that the ruling People's Action Party (PAP) 'should not have a carte blanche'. Addressing the PAP conference at Toa Payoh sports hall, PM Lee who is the general secretary of the party, said just as changes are taking place in Singapore, so must PAP continue to evolve.

  20. Home > Breaking News > Singapore > Story Sep 27, 2008 Stylo party turns ugly Tempers flared at the exclusive event as partygoers waited over an hour at the valet for their cars. By Cara Van Miriah THEY arrived in style but left in shambles. Billed as one of the most glamorous Grand Prix parties, the Stylo Fashion Grand Prix (SFGP) Singapore at the Mercedes-Benz Centre on Friday was wrecked at the end. Things turned ugly at the red carpet when guests waited more than an hour for the event's valet service to pick up their cars. The holdup: Misplaced car keys and missing vehicles. It was supposed to be a simple process: hand your numbered ticket to the valet, and he'll get your car keys and drive the vehicle out of the carpark to the red carpet. Trouble brewed when the valets could not find some of the cars keys kept in a white cabinet at the valet station. In some cases, the matching ticket stubs were tagged to the wrong keys. At 11pm, partygoers then crowded the valet station desperately trying to locate their keys in the cabinet. The valets then separated several sets of ticket stubs and keys from the cabinet and displayed them on the ground so as guests could identify the keys themselves. In a fit of anger, a few guests hurled vulgaries at the valets. One even pushed an event signage to the ground, which was then prominently displayed before the Mercedes-Benz Centre on Alexandra Road. Three hours later - at 1.45am - about 15 guests were still waiting for their cars. A Stylo spokesman estimated that some 100 guests were affected. The event, which ended at 2am, left a sour taste for the glam crowd. http://www.straitstimes.com/Breaking...ry_283235.html

Please don't PM me for details, I am not involved in the party at all, so everything I know is on the flyer. Mods if this is not ok let me know as the organising company is a sister company.
