  1. hi, anyone using CAAS (airport) corporate plan ? what's the plans like ? diff companies are offered different plans by the service providers ... my office one not very attractive compared to my sis's SGH CIS ...
  2. Recently, I encounter gps problem. I was using Uber driver app, then I added Grab driver app. Both use and would launch Waze as navigation. Sometimes after using for a while, Waze would suddenly freeze, not knowing what to do, like hanged. I then turn on Google Map and it shows the same location problem as Waze. I'm not currently at that location, it was like a few km away. So I suspect Location service has a problem. I had 2 phones, LG V20 and G4, both having the same problem occasionally. Once the problem started, rebooting the phone will fix it, until the next gps "loss" Initial suspect is LG phones, but googling found that samsung phone users also reported experiencing this problem. https://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge/667438-losing-gps-signal-how-can-i-stop.html If you have any experience with losing gps, for no reason, and how you fix it, please share. From the above link, the solution appears to be: 1. Switch off Wifi - Wifi degrade GPS signal. 2. Set GPS to device only, not High GPS which also use Wifi and network. 3. Remove battery optimization for Location Service. For those who use and encounter this during navigation, it can be frustrating, when you have to reboot the phone.
  3. Nokia brings back iconic 8110 'banana phone' Feb 26, 2018 BARCELONA/HELSINKI - Seeking to capitalise on their comeback over the past year, the makers of Nokia phones are expanding to include a premium Android smartphone, their first, and a remake of one of its biggest hits of the 1990s, the 8110 "slider" phone. Set up by ex- Nokia executives who have licensed the famous brand, HMD Global - as the year-old company is known - has focused on mid-priced Androids and even sub-$100-priced phones since entering the smartphone market. Chief Executive Florian Seiche said HMD has sold around 30 million phones after introducing 11 new phone models over the past year. On Sunday, it announced two new models, plus refreshed versions of three phones first offered last year. "We feel great about the momentum we had in 2017 and that gives us the confidence to double down in 2018," Seiche told reporters at a briefing in London ahead of the product launch. Mobile phone market tracker Counterpoint Research said Nokia phones surged during 2017 to become the world's No. 1 seller of low-cost feature phones and No. 11 in smartphones after only entering the market last year. On a combined basis, Nokia now ranks as the No. 6 mobile phone seller, Counterpoint calculates. HMD's strategy is to use distribution partnerships with 600 top mobile operators and retailers in selected markets around the world to offer reliable, affordable products with the latest innovations, plus monthly Google security updates on all phones. Europe remains the biggest region for Nokia phones sales, Seiche said; India, Russia and Indonesia are its biggest country markets. The Nokia 8 is the company's flagship phone, priced at 749 euros (S$1,215) and designed to compete with Samsung's and Huawei's premium models. A new, 4G-ready version of Nokia's 8110 is priced at 79 euros. Nokia 8 is available in April, the revamped 8110 in May. The 1990s throwback model comes in two colour choices, classic black or banana yellow, a play on how its keyboard slid out, inspiring the nickname "banana phone". Nokia Corp, once the world's dominant phone maker, sold its handset business to Microsoft in 2014 and is now focused on telecom network equipment. HMD took over the Nokia feature phone business from Microsoft in 2016 and struck a deal with Nokia Oyj to use the brand on smartphones. http://www.asiaone.com/digital/nokia-phones-look-future-and-past?xtor=EREC-16-4[Emarsys_Newsletter]-20180226&extid=6934d0cfb7b252f1ae9f0dbddf5ff88ca8637e77

  10. It's back and it's 3G :) http://www.straitstimes.com/tech/nokia-phones-officially-return-to-singapore-in-october-with-launch-of-retro-favourite-nokia SINGAPORE - After a three-year hiatus, Nokia mobile phones are officially returning to target Singapore consumers. The first of them is the revamped version of the classic Nokia 3310. The talk-and-text-centric phone from the year 2000 will be on sale here in October, and will work on Singapore telcos' 3G networks. The Straits Times understands the handset will go for less than $100 at all major retail outlets here, making Singapore one of the first in the world to sell this 3G-compatible "dumb" phone. Finnish start-up HMD Global, which owns rights to the Nokia brand, believes that demand will come from consumers wanting to relive their nostalgia, and parents of young children. The redesigned Nokia 3310 was first launched earlier this year in select markets as it worked only on 2G networks. It was not available here as Singapore shut down its 2G networks in April this year. "We underestimated the demand in some markets which are switching off or have switched off their 2G networks (including in) Singapore," an HMD Global spokesman told The Straits Times. It decided to support 3G on 3310 "to allow more people to enjoy a modern classic reborn". http://www.straitstimes.com/tech/smartphones/nokia-relaunches-3310-snake-game-and-6-other-things-about-the-old-and-new-iconic

Hi..... anyone use this phone? review pls
  12. Guys......looking around to join more forum chat topics and come to mind that there is no APP for MCF. Therefore, suggesting MCF to come up with an APP both IOS and Andriod, this way, most of us Bros and Sis can have them all on hand. Using mobile phone website to access is not convenient at all. Anyone support your ideas and we can feedback with MCF looking into it. Ideas can range from functions and designs or anything you may think off. Even if someone can contact MCF bosses. I am sure this can work somehow.....Cheers.
  13. hi folks, need some inputs from techies here. any suggestions for 5MP camera phones or simply great camera phones when $$ is not an issue. please do not tell me to buy a seperate camera and phone as i already have them. looking to integrate them as to bring out only 1 device instead. thanks.
  14. If anyone had bought new LG mobile phones, pls take note. I dont know if it is just my family or is LG phones' motherboard issue. My family have 4 LG phones, my G4 and 3 V10 for my children, the motherboard of my G4 gave up its will to live after 10 months with me. I took it back to LG service centre and a new one was replaced. Last month, after CNY, with 11 months of usage, one V10 gave up, took it back and motherboard replaced. This morning a 2nd V10 is down, totally cannot boot up and I suspect is motherboard again. This one is one week left before warranty expire. I just told the 3rd V10 to stand by and back up everything, prepare for the last one to join the dead club, only different is this last one may be out of warranty. 75% down rate within a year for LG, while we have no problem with iphones and Samsung phones, could it be our handling of the phone? Anyway, I just wanted to highlight to anyone holding a new LG phone, back up your stuffs, the phone may just shut down permanently without warning. And now I have to sign out and drive to the LG service centre again.
  15. Anyone has experience with this - I am getting a new phone and am thinking of selling my current phone. If I sell my current iphone to a second hand phone dealer, can they transfer the data in my phone for me to my new phone?
  16. No Photography, No Video Recording....... But Camera Phone allowed .... CNA report: 14 military camps to allow servicemen to bring in camera phones Posted: 31 August 2012 1336 hrs SINGAPORE: Fourteen military camps in Singapore will allow servicemen to bring in camera phones, starting from 1 September. Previously, all camera equipped mobile devices were disallowed in camps. The move is part of a six- to nine-month trial to give servicemen added convenience while performing their national service duties. Camps will be divided into "green" and "red" zones. Green zones are where camera phones will be allowed. When a servicemen enters a more sensitive red zone, camera phones have to be temporarily surrendered. Pulau Tekong Camp, Bedok Camp and Khatib Camp are taking part in the trial. - CNA/al Nowadays, which camera handphone do now have video recording facilities...

Anyone use these phones and can give an idea of how good they are. I understand the Mi 4i is comparable to an iPhone 6 but only a quarter of the price. Any comments.
