  1. Fowl play: 13 chicken suppliers fined record S$26.9m for price-fixing, non-compete pacts THIRTEEN distributors of fresh chicken have been fined S$26.9 million for price-fixing and agreeing not to compete for customers, the largest total financial penalty in a single case to date, the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) said in a media statement on Wednesday. Fresh chicken distributors import live chickens from farms in Malaysia and slaughter them in Singapore, selling the fresh chicken products to customers such as supermarkets and restaurants. The 13 distributors collectively supply more than 90 per cent of fresh chicken products in Singapore, with an annual combined turnover amounting to about half a billion dollars. The 13 suppliers were fined between S$705,939 to S$11.4 million, taking into account relevant turnovers; the nature, duration and seriousness of the infringement; aggravating and mitigating factors, such as cooperation with the CCCS; and representations made. "Particularly for this case, the large size of the industry, the high market shares of the parties, the seriousness and the long duration (of about seven years) of the cartel conduct contributed to CCCS imposing the highest total financial penalty in a single case to date," said the CCCS.
  2. I open this new thread is to share latest car prices from AD/PI . Any dealer increase the most in prices ? I think Camry increase by $15,000 .
  3. Anyone tried this fuel addictive before? I think I saw this in supermarket in JB, but I can't remember how much they are selling over there. http://tinyurl.com/groupon-MyGreenOil Currently got promotion, $3 for a bottle (50% off)
  4. About 900 long haul Business Class tickets were sold online in Australia for Economy Class prices. That's an error costing around 3 million dollars. Now SIA are trying to recover this money through Travel Agents or directly from the people who bought the tickets. Apparently according to Australian law SIA haven't got a leg to stand on. Why don't SIA just accept the error and not cause major problems with their standing as a 'great airline'. Also with the major fall in oil prices has anyone noticed any drop in airline ticket price here?
  5. I'm looking to get this one. Any one saw the pricing in SITEX? I tried looking at HWZ, but no info. Seriously this is the best tablet in the market at this moment.............. Thanks!

  8. I heard from the news that the Malaysia Government increased the petrol price of RON97 to RM2.40, up by RM0.10 from this morning. Anyone went to pump petrol today?
  9. Global Oil Glut Sends Prices Plunging - WSJ Economists say falling oil prices could kill off Russia’s flagging economic growth, forecast at no more than 0.5% this year. Evgeny Nadorshin, chief economist at Russian conglomerate AFK Sistema, said Russia’s economy could begin contracting by the end of this year if oil prices remain near $90 a barrel. Leading Russian politicians and executives believe the Saudis are pushing down prices to target Russia’s oil-export-dependent economy and Mr. Putin, as an extension of ongoing sanctions.
  10. Got a few scratches which I've touched up but now it looked even worse. Is there any workshop (preferably) in the West that I can go to sand and spray on that particular portion? Biggest scratch is abt 50 cents coins. My ride is pearl white so I hope they can mix the correct colors. I saw several workshop at Alexandra village near Queensway shopping centre. Anyone can recommend? Thanx in advance.
  11. https://www.onemotoring.com.sg/content/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/buy_a_new_vehicle/car_cost/_jcr_content/main_par/download/file.res/Car_Cost_Update.pdf Just thought I did share. The table is pretty much self-explanatory. It shows the amount of profits every authorized dealer make for each car they sell. Highly subjective but it's a good interesting gauge.
  12. recently did a research for interest purpose . I noticed the selling price per sqft of a landed property is far higher than the price recorded in the caveat lodged transactions in the same area. This phenomenon is common across all disct. While it is understandable that there is no easy way to compare per sqft price of landed property from one to another due to the build-up/land ratio, reno quality and the property condition etc. But even the per sqft price of hose very poor condition units that would require a massive reno if not a A&A are higher than average transacted price. Wonder how a landed sales/purchase is negotiated? Any experts who could kindly shed some lights would be much appreciated.
  13. should I hold back my purchase till may ? if the coe drop to 50k ...might considered buying new car ...

  16. Can any one advise as resale price is a old coe , how can price increase affect resale car price.
  17. Was looking for a used car which has 2-3 years left. Seems like used cars with 2-3 years left have ridiculously high depreciation, some cases even higher than brand new cars or those that are 1-2 years old? This is especially so for the popular ones like altis and camry where you can get the brand new ones for lower depreciation, with warranty and 5 years free servicing. I can understand the loan restriction probably pushed the price of these used cars up, but are this pricing really what is happening if I walk into a used car dealership?
  18. Thinking of changing tyres before CNY, anyone has changed to CSC5. Price and where you got it from? I am looking at 255/35/19. TIA.
  19. ST Forum Jul 15, 2011 Price hike ripple effect: A personal experience IN HIS letter on Wednesday, Mr Edward Teo said that when a basic necessity such as public transport attracts a fare hike, there will soon be a chain effect of other increases ("Worry over fare hike ripple"). I find this to be true. For instance, the last time I complained and asked my neighbourhood hawker why she increased her food prices, she pointed to the rise in train fares. Once hawkers increase their prices, they will not reduce them, even when their costs go down. This is not the right time for public transport companies to chalk up higher profits, especially when we are still struggling with high inflation. Joan Chng (Madam)

  23. I believe many gentlemen over here are waiting for the COE to drop before buying their new car. And I believe among this crowd, there are people who just want a simple car as a transport. Don't care too much on the HP but not 1000cc n below la. And I'm have to searching through online to check which car has the lowest price (excluding those china cars la) And I came out with the following models 1. chevrolet sonic hatchback 2. nissan note 3. Honda fit 4. accent 1.4m of course must consider their cevs then the parf value. And There might be models I missed out. Guys any good suggestion for a lowest price with the best bang for your bucks?
