Just 2 questions. 1)If order a car indented from overseas, can the dealer register the car with a current Open Cat COE it holds even before the car arrive? For example, a car due to arrive in 3 months, but the dealer has an open Cat COE it bidded for last month (due to expire in another 2 months from today). Can that car be registered under this COE (to buyer) even before the car arrive? Or must wait till car arrive on shore? 2) Can that dealer bid for a normal cat (A/B) COE for the buyer, and register the car, even before that car reaches SIngapore? For example, a car due to arrive in 3 months, but dealer bids for and obtains a normal Cat. (A/B) COE for the buyer in the coming 1 month. Thank you very much

Hi, I need some honest help from you guys here. If I already found a resale property I like and know the procedure for loan application, should I contact the seller agent directly and negotiate the transaction? Is there any benefit to engage a buyer agent to act on my behalf? Would a seller agent normally prefer to deal with direct buyer or a buyer agent?

That's an actual Pri 3 CA1 past year question from a branded Pri school. No options, so it's a free response question. What's your answer, and why? I can think of three equally valid ways to do it (two obvious and one slightly less obvious), giving three different answers. In fact, none of these is truly correct since there's insufficient information to establish the implied metric, but whatever. I wouldn't mind if challenging questions are set by those with a modicum of intelligence and judgement. But clearly, at least some of the question setters are falling short of the mark.

Hi, i got in to an accident, now 1 side of my headlight is broken. im claiming from the other party, so if i claim 1 side it will be very ugly as my car is 5 year old. so normally for this case can i claim both side? also if i spray half of my car then will the paint match color a not or can i request for full car spray paint?

hey guys, tot of juz changing the muffler to get the bassy growl...not too loud.....but from the posts, read that low end will probably be lost......i like to know...how bad is it??? if only slight loss in power, then can seriously consider......

Hi All, I am on 4-pot BBK for 2mths plus. Over the past 2 weeks, whenever I brake normally at high speed around 90km/h, I feel a strong plusating vibration to the steering wheel. The mechanic says that's the ABS kicking in due to the pressure from the BBK. The same does not happen at normal speeds below 70km/h. Is this normal? Or is it my tyres that are not grippy enough? They are at 7000kms and 1yr old. How can I solve the issue? Thanks

Unfortunately, my car was involved in a chain collision with 2 other cars. Mine was the last. The good thing is nobody was hurt. I've been hearing 2 version of the how the claims would be apportioned. First: The last car will bear all Second: Each car will claim it's OWN damages from the car behind. A is first car, B is second car and C is the last A <-- B <-- C A will claim B for it's own damages. B will claim C for it's own damages. Which is true?

Hi all, I'm not good in calculation of car loan issues and so please help me to clear my doubts: Q1) If i still has existing car loan of $46000/= with the bank and I intend to sell my car off to a car dealer. At the same time I wanted to buy another 2ndhand car which cost $65k from the same dealer. Can I talked to the dealer to help and pay off my car loan of $46000/= to the bank first and then let them add on the $46000/= to the price of the 2nd hand car, which make the car price $$111,000 ($46k + $65k). Is dat against the law to do so??? Q2) If I'm selling my car which has a COE of only $5000 (example only), does this $5000/= play any part when coming to selling the car. Meaning will the dealer takes the $5000/= coe or the current coe price to determine the selling value of my car now. Some say if my car COE is low (for example $5000), then I definitely earn a lot when selling coz the COE price now is high, some say I will not earn much. I blurred!!!!!!!!! I really confused with all this up/down, high/low and buy/sell issues. So please help if u can!! Thanks I know it is not the right time to change car but I just want to clear my doubt.

Hi all, As title said, if I want to buy a 2nd hand car, how do I know how many previous owners a car has had? Is there an official channel to get this information? or I can only take whatever the dealer says. thanks -
Is it reasonable to change whole lower arm when only the rubber pad has been worn out? Some months ago, I could hear some sound when the car was traveling on less even road. The sound came from metal rubbing against metal underneath the car. The mechanic jacked up the car to about ~50cm high and went underneath to check. He then told me the sound came from metal rubbing against metal as the supporting rubber pad has been worn out. He replaced a total of two lower arms. Together with post-installation alignment, the repair came close to $465. The "rubbing" noise was only partly rectified. My question is:- (1) If the lower arm structure is still solid, with only the supporting rubber pad on it having been worn out, can we just re-stick another new rubber pad on it without having to replace the whole arm? (2) Must lower arms be replaced in pairs? He replaced both, but I could see one was newer than the other when they took them out from my car. (3) How often do we need to change lower arms? (4) The non-original ones cost almost half price, are they compatible and reliable?

Hi guys, my fren was involved in an accident with a malaysian vehicle(kancil or smt similar, very small car).. my fren knock e rear side of the vehicle and some paint drop off e bumper.. no particulars were exchanged and cos my fren agreed to go jb workshop to settle.. my fren gave the other party his num, name n ic no.. now hor.. the other party came to sg n repair e vehicle and asked my fren to pay close to SGD600 bucks for the repair.. my fren was stunned at first but agreed to pay when he get his pay cos he feels responsible.. but hor.. as a fren i think he shouldn't pay so much cos y did a m'sia car come sg do repair? n how come e repair so ex cos according to my fren, its juz e bottom left side of rear bumper paint peel off.. and e bumper was intact.. very minor damages which i think would not cost more den rm200 if done in jb.. so now should he pay or not pay or pay a portion of it? hope for some advice from mcfers.. thanks..

Hi all, just to check. It's been 3 weeks since my dealer signed up for me with AXA insurance company regarding insurance cover and i have an authorised cover note (from AXA) stating that this will be valid for 60 days from the date of issue. Am wondering when will AXA send me the proper insurance cert before the cover note expires? Anyone has any similiar experience to share on approximate how long did you guys receive the proper one? Thanks

A few days ago, i reached liang seah st carpark at around 4.15pm. as there is yellow lot, $1=30 mins. if i put $1, it ends at 4.45 pm. so how to tear the last 15 mins before 5pm when u cant use 50c for 15 mins parking?

Think I am getting old. Suddenly, I have a vested interest in acquiring an MPV. Some questions though, whats the darn difference between a Toyota Previa vs an Estima? There are also many variant to the Estima... eg Aeras S etc. What does it mean? I seriously love the Nissan Elgrand. Its like the mother of all MPVs, huge and comfy, not those Freed/Stream/Airwave/Wish types where the last row is for shorties. Is the Ody Absolute any good? Or the Exiga GT which is a good choice if I wanna remain in the dark side... Any comments ?

is it illegal to have a strip of LED mounted inside the car rear windows..the LEd will be turn on for 4th brake light (red) plus signal light(orange) and reverse light (white)... doing that is more for safety than display..especially for those heavy truck or lorry to able to see these light due to their tall car body..

We all know water vapour condensates onto particles forming water droplets in clouds. Once it becomes too heavy with water condensate, it starts to rain So my question is like this... Assumuing there is this mass of cloud....it gets darker and darker...contains more water. Then when it reaches its threshold, it starts to rain. So after it rains for 5 minutes, i am sure the amount of water in the cloud is less than the amount of water in the cloud just before it reached its threshold. So why doesnt it stop raining after 5 mins???

Hi all, want to check where exactly is the 12V socket located in the car? Also if i want to install a GPS to my car, do i need to buy a cigarette lighter socket and connect to this 12V socket then connect the GPS via this way? I hope this makes enough sense Thanks.

I know sound travel by the transferring of mechanical energy from atom to atom. And i also know sound travels faster in denser material for example, sound will travel faster along along a steel pipe faster than in air. so my question 1) when i am under water in the swimming pool, and my friend outside of the water shouts at me - why is that i cant hear him so well? i thought sound waves should travel faster in water? 2) when my and my fren are underwater in the swimming pool, my friend yells are me. why is that i cant hear well either? as compared to if he yells at us when were are both on land
