    Alfa Romeo

So much talk abt Massa more likely to be more agressive in marketing ARomeos (in the expense of leaving Fiats behind)...wondering if any ARomeo's owners here can comment on its performance and especially on its reliability? I will be tempted to save up more money to get a 156 (or 157?.. or maybe 146 if no enough money) in the next 12 months if Massa is indeed taking a keen interest in selling this car. Reason I asked is because of the bad reviews from friends' friends that the Alfa Romeo is rather crap in reliability and it gives you more headache than the joy and jubilation in owning one. Can owners comment on ARomeos in general here? THANKS!
  4. Hey Bros, Anyone had any experience with the Alfa GTV (1996)? I have to say its got killer looks but I guess its what under the hood that counts. Would love to hear your comments esp those on chronic problems, maintenance and servicing. Thanks!!

  6. Hello. You chased me from level 1 all the way up to nearly the 10th floor in shaw centre while i was slowly looking for a parking lot. During this time, you Revved your engine and almost touched my bumper on several occassions. I did not react, because you are scum. But what you did next is reckless and out of mind. You overtook my car inside the carpark at ramming speed, then almost hit the corner and ran away. After that I chased you up. I had no intention of letting you get away. You endangered my car, and my body. You knew I had an in car camera and i recorded every thing. So what were you thinking when you stopped your car with me behind? Perhaps: Oh shoot, im caught, now i have to get out of my car and whack this person? Well, im glad you chose to just stay in your car and drive off. If you had come out, this footage would be on the front page of straits times. FYI. you probably stopped because you saw my car camera on the windscreen, but too late for you. Video is in post processing as I need to convert it from MP4/AAC to AVI or it will not sync. Will post shortly.
  7. Hi guys, As you all know, we will be setting up a new Alfa Romeo Club section under Car Clubs. We need two more mods to help out Le_Stig in the running of the new section, so this poll is to decide who you guys feel should be appointed. I will leave this poll open for one week, and the two nominees with the most votes by then will be appointed mods together with Le_Stig. Thank you for your cooperation. Ragingbull

  9. Hi all, Due to popular request, we will be setting up an Alfa Romeo Club section under Car Clubs soon. Before that is done however, we would like to invite you guys to offer some suggestions. Firstly, what are the sub-forums you would like to see within the Alfa Romeo Club. There will be a General section, for everything under the sun. But we will also be looking to add up to three more sub-forums, so do post in this thread what you would like them to be. The second thing we would like to request is to nominate potential moderators for the new Alfa Romeo Club. Le_Stig will be appointed as the first mod, so we will need two more to assist him. Feel free to put forward any names which you think will be suitable for the position. At the end of this week (Friday), we will collate the names and start a poll, and the two persons with the most votes will be appointed as the moderators for the new Alfa Romeo Club alongside Le_Stig. Thank you for your help. Ragingbull
  10. Any myths buster here wanna help me out? I being toying the idea of getting a second hand 159 or even Alfa GT since 2 cars back, what hold me back was the headache that it might bring. My friend had a Fiat Punto Manual, the injector keep going up lorry not sure why, ordering it from Italy took 1months+ and the car sits at Massa motor for like 1month+ People tell me Alfa cars not reliable in SG, spoil here spoil there, anyone wanna share your experience? How bad it is compared to BMW? some tell me BMW very reliable, mechanic tell me stay away from it. Alfa? i think Mechanic will be even more against it. The resale value of Alfa, Saab, Volvo are really not too gd, that makes sense to buy 1 and drive all the way till scrap but is it reliable? or time spend in workshop = time spend driving it?
  11. Check this out fellow Alfisti and watch-lovers http://www.luxist.com/2010/07/09/chopard-m...fa-romeo-watch/ Could be the 8c red on the hands Any lobang?
  12. The TZ3 Corsa was built to commemorate 90 years of collaboration between Zagato and Alfa Romeo, and was commissioned by a German Alfa Romeo Zagato collector, Martin Kapp, while attending The Zandvoort Tribute, an event that honours Zagato. The TZ3 Corsa is a two-seater, rear-wheel drive supercar with a 4.2-litre V8 mid-mounted engine that produces 414bhp. The car has a mono shell tubular chassis made of carbon fibre as well as a body handmade from aluminium, meaning that the car weighs in at just 850kg. The TZ3 Corsa is fitted with 18-inch wheels that are matched with Pirelli PZero sport performance tyres. The engine calibration can be manually adjusted, and when combined with a six-speed sequential gearbox, allows the car to go from 0-100km/h in less than 3.5 seconds, and reach a top speed of over 300km/h.

  14. Finally , a Alfa supercar . "Expect the 8C GTA to tip the scales at 1,450kg

  20. A beefed-up 159 prototype has been caught testing at the Nurburgring - and the Italians' GTA version is expected to switch a twin-turbo version of Holden's V6 for a Ferrari V8. By JEZ SPINKS. Alfa Romeo looks set to abandon a high-performance version of the Holden-built V6 in favour of a Ferrari V8 as the Italians' 159 GTA targets the Audi RS4 and new BMW M3. Our spy photographers have snapped a muscular-looking 159 sedan testing at Germany's Nurburgring circuit, and the thinly disguised vents on both the front guards and the bonnet suggest this prototype is powered by a high-performance V8. The flagship variant of the 159 was expected to be powered by a bigger-capacity, dual-turbocharged version of the Holden-built 3.2-litre V6 already included in the mid-sized Alfa's range. It seems, however, that the Italians want to jump into the upcoming battle of V8-powered German mid-sizers that by the end of the year will include Audi's RS4, BMW's M3 and Mercedes' C63 AMG. An Alfa insider confirmed the 159, which launched in Europe in 2005, has a platform capable of accommodating a V8 engine up to 4.5 litres in size. And Drive.com.au's source said the V8 from the Ferrari F430 has plenty of heat to disperse, which would be aided by the multiple air vents. The supercar engine would be possible because Alfa Romeo sits under the same, large Fiat umbrella as Ferrari (as well as Maserati and Lancia). The Ferrari/Maserati joint-developed V8 has a capacity of 4.3 litres and in the Ferrari F430 produces 360kW of power and 465Nm. The V8 would be detuned for the 159 GTA, however, whose rivals (RS4 and M3) both feature 309kW V8s. Mercedes has yet to release details of the C63 AMG that debuts at September's Frankfurt motor show. Another clue to V8 power in our pictures are the quad exhausts on the 159 prototype, which accompany typical GTA cues such as large low-profile tyres, slightly flared wheelarches, and side skirts. The prototype also wears a rear spoiler, unlike its predecessor the 156 GTA. Alfa used the 156 hot-rod to resurrect the GTA badge it used in touring-car racing in the '60s and '70s. GTA is the abbreviation for Gran Turismo Allegerita. Allegerita is Italian for 'lightened'. The 159 GTA
  21. What do you guys think? Is it more worth it to get the Alfa Romeo 147 1.6l Manual($103k) or the 2.0l Selespeed($115k) The 2.0l comes with a really good Bose sound system(factory fitted, subwoofer integrated into boot!) plus Vehicle Dynamic Control, Leather Seats, and of course the more powerful engine and Selespeed. Sigh... dunno whether I should put out the extra money or not.
  22. Ooohhh... Sooo... Niiccccee... Be right back. Gotta change my boxers.
  23. http://uk.reuters.com/article/companyNews/...6?symbol=FIA.MI I quote : "MILAN, April 16 (Reuters) - Production at Alfa Romeo's main plant in Italy remained partly suspended on Wednesday as union workers kept up their protest despite police intervention, said the sports car maker's parent, Fiat (FIA.MI: Quote, Profile, Research). Workers have blocked the entrance to the plant, in the town of Pomigliano d'Arco, near Naples, to protest against plans to transfer about 300 employees to another building as part of a reorganisation. The plant, which makes the 147 hatchback and the 159 sedan, has had to partially suspend production because the protesting workers have prevented trucks loaded with parts from passing through its gates. Fiat obtained a court order to have police clear the workers from the entrance on Tuesday, but the protest has resumed unabated. Fiat has also used a helicopter to bring parts to the plant, union workers told Reuters this week. Recently renamed after Italian philosopher Giambattista Vico, the plant had restarted operations on March 3 after a two-month shutdown for refurbishment. It employs about 5,000 workers, some of whom conducted protests on a number of issues during the shutdown. (Reporting by Gilles Castonguay; Editing by Andrew Hurst) " So , expect more delay on the new 159 etc... IMO , they should move production to poland to punish the swines. it would cut costs and improve quality.
  24. According to an article posted on Italian magazine Quattroruote, Fiat confirmed that its 2008 Junior (based on the Fiat Grande Punto platform and mechanics), will go in production in the first months of 2008 at the Group
  25. Hi, think Alfa GT have been around for quite some time. But I really like the design of it, think it's timeless. Anyone knows about the actual selling for this car? The 1.8T-spark and 2.0 JTS model?
