  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Do6-Jkt048 Last Thursday, two ladies and one gentleman in Wenzhou were about to enjoy a steamy, "car-shaking" 3-header when one of them accidentally released the handbrake and sent the car hurtling down the hill and straight into a tree - ending the night with a 'bang' in an entirely different sense. Two dozen firefighters arrived on the scene to find the vehicle a twisted piece of metal, sprinkled with shards of glass from with the shattered windshields and filled with naked, bloodied women. One of the women broke both of her legs and needed firemen to pry her out with the jaws of life. The man walked away unharmed, but investigations are said to be ongoing. http://therealsingapore.com/content/2-chinese-girls-and-1-china-man-threesome-inside-car-ends-horrific-accident
  2. A group of Chinese students caused a stir online when they allegedly ordered "cooked sushi" at arguably the world's greatest sushi restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro. When the staff refused, one of them, surnamed Lin, ranted online about their "poor service," hoping her countrymen would sympathize. They did not. RocketNews24 reports: As most people know, the vast majority of sushi toppings include raw fish, clams or some other form of edible goodness from the sea. Lin’s friends found the Japanese delicacy incredibly hard to swallow, and after testing their limits with two pieces of fishy sushi, apparently exited the restaurant to fill their bellies with deep-fried pork cutlets at a nearby establishment. The remaining entourage then cancelled all the items on their pre-ordered course and asked to switch to “cooked sushi” … to go. In response to the unusual request, the sushi master enquired, “Is sushi served cooked in your country? If you can’t handle raw food, you should have informed us when you made the reservation!” Possibly feeling humiliated for being questioned, Lin then retorted, “Who knew!? I didn’t make the reservation!” Lin expressed her outrage in her post, writing, “If we were Abe! If we were Obama! Would he dare to show such an attitude?” Because how could she possibly know the world's most famous sushi restaurant, and the subject of hit film Jiro Dreams of Sushi, actually served sushi, right? Also, we assume neither Abe or Obama ordered "cooked sushi." We're glad seats at a restaurant that requires you to make a reservation a year or more in advance were wasted on this group. Lin's online rant was recently taken down after she was bombarded with (rightfully) scathing netizen comments. Here's a screenshot: At 2:45 p.m., I brought my food to the restaurant again right after it closed. I've received criticism and suggestions from from many people. I stood at the door and said sorry. The person who answered the door was the head of the restaurant. I asked him if he could remember me. He beamed and said yes... He asked why I didn't eat raw food but still went to a Sushi restaurant. I said it was because of work. I didn't choose which restaurant we ate at. He asked why I didn't say sorry for being 40 minutes late. I said it was my fault. Forgetting to say sorry was my fault too. It's my problem. He asked why I talked to the staff about having the sushi cooked. I said because at that moment, I... probably from the same ilk that expect singaporean not to cook curry in our own house. kaoz
  3. fark off from the right lane lah. very screw up. NSHW most of the time only 2 lanes. they travel at right lane with 110-120 speed n block up many cars. all the cars hv to overtake from the left, i stuck behind such idiots a few time on each trip . WTFFFFFFFFFFF
  4. Just sharing. Recently, I met with a minor (settled on the spot) accident at Singapore Customs. I was waiting for my turn to go for the secondary clearance at the Singapore side when this motorcycle came beside me. As he came beside me, I assumed there is clearance, since he could go pass me to wait near the font of the car (still beside me, around the left side mirror) When I moved off, my wheel scraped his leg because he was putting his leg on the rod (motorcycle was not moving). No visible injuries but I had to pay some money for medical expenses. I am not sure if it was my fault, his stupidity or a mixture of both. Just sharing that funny accidents so happen. Just because a motorcycle is clear of your car does not mean that the rider will not put his leg next to your tire (or Gof forbid) in front of your tire for balance.
  5. stupid or what?
  6. I was trying to get to lane 1 to do my right turn to CTE. I was speeding up to overtake him. He want to pull this type of lj stunt with me. I wrote to TP liao. He can enjoy his demerit points gao gao.

  10. 8 things you didn't know are making you dumber 1. Long meetings not only waste your time, they are a brain drain Here's a reason to give your boss on why long meetings should be abolished - they make everybody involved dumber. 2. Being around the fairer sex How about this? Just being around a beautiful woman, or even mentioning her name, can make men more stupid. 3. Jetlag gives you permanent brain damage Jet setting around the world may sound glamorous, but what if the cost is your brain cells? 4. Getting spanked by your mom Mothers beware: Sparing the rod may spoil the child, but spank your children and you risk giving them long-term developmental damage. 5. Being fat makes you mentally slow It may be a controversial point to make, but science says that being obese not only makes you physically unattractive, it also makes you dull in the attic. 6. Living in a bustling city If you are living in Singapore, you are by definition living in a city - and it's likely to be screwing up your brain. 7. Are you the older or younger sibling? If you have an older sibling, chances are your older brother or sister is smarter than you. 8. Breastfeeding can increase a child's IQ by 3 to 8 points Yes, breastfeeding is tied to kids' brain power.
  11. Sorry brothers. Let me rant. Shouldn't TP or LTA enforce that CYCLISTS shouldn't cycle in Lane 1 a.k.a "Fast Lane" a.k.a "Speeding Lane"? KNN. Those cyclists think they can ride faster than 70 KM/h is it? These stupid Cyclist think they are professional simply because they are in full cycling gear, helmet, crotch-protruding ballet tights? They don't want their lives, I want to keep my driving license! [rifle]
  12. HEEEELLLPPPP I have a dated Canon DV880 Digital Video Camera Data download is via Firewire. Only - no computers in the office have a firewire port. Computer at home has firewire, but is not detecting the camera (since I upgraded the os to Vista) My notebook has HDMI but no firewire. Anyway I can get a firewire to HDMI converter so that I can (try) to download the video?

  14. I always get a laugh from the sales ads on SG car mart. Some of them put ridiculous bhp and torque figures that you know are unlikely true. Some of them reduce the car's mileage until you see also want to laugh. Some of them have irrelevant information (director owner, lady driver, doctor owner, etc) that makes you wonder why they became sales people in the first place. Some of them, obviously ah bengs, try to write in exciting and flowery language and end up looking ridiculous. Let me start the ball rolling with this ad posted by a not-so-funny but utterly ill-informed used car salesgirl who obviously knows nuts about the car she is selling. http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...391&DL=1369 What is "Concealed System"? "Roof Power At 309KW"???? Wow! It even has a "Double Overhead Camera"!!!!!
  15. when during emergency - if you are involved in rescue, please dont ask stupid question He said that an NParks officer called him on his mobile phone, and the officer asked him if he could "pinpoint" his position. "But I couldn't see any significant landmarks at all," said Mr Ng. "All around me were trees and more trees." if the lost hiker could pin-point his location he need not call for help isnt mobile cell phone signal can be used to locate someone by triangulating with the base station 1-hour hike turns into 8-hour ordeal By Alvin Lim, The New Paper | Wed, Nov 16 2011 He had a love for adventure, which would take him out of the heartlands and into the jungle in search of hiking trails. But hiking enthusiast Ng Lit Sin, 53, a retiree, ended up lost after he ventured alone into a forested area on the fringes of Upper Seletar Reservoir last month. He was rescued only eight hours later, after police and National Parks Board officers guided him to the edge of the reservoir and sent a boat to pick him up. In an interview with The New Paper on Friday, Mr Ng recounted his ordeal in Mandarin. After breakfast - two slices of bread and a cup of Milo - at his Clementi home, Mr Ng went into the forested area off Mandai Road at 8.30am on Oct 15. He intended to return after an hour. Said Mr Ng: "I had come here many times with my friends before, and I know the place well." He parked his car at a small slip road, and with just a 500ml bottle of water, his wallet, keys and mobile phone on him, he entered the jungle. But about 15 minutes after following a jungle footpath, he realised that he was on unfamiliar ground. He tried to retrace his steps, but ended up feeling even more disorientated. He then started on what he thought was a trail, thinking that it would lead out to the road where his car was parked. But the trail only led him deeper into the jungle, where the vegetation grew thicker and the sun's rays barely made it through. Mr Ng said: "I was climbing up and down small hills, trying to avoid fallen trees and undergrowth. "The forest was very quiet...but I kept myself moving." Exhausted By midday, Mr Ng was tired. He had finished all his water two hours earlier, and his legs were so weak that he could barely walk any more. He said: "I was so hungry and thirsty...I tried looking for fruits on the trees, but there were none. "Even tree leaves seemed like food to me...At that point, I just wished I had brought more food and water along," he added. It was then that he decided to call for help. Mr Ng said he used his handphone to call his hiking buddies, and two of them rushed down. But neither of them - both experienced hikers, he said - managed to make contact with him. He recalled: "They were shouting loudly for me, but I couldn't hear them...it was deathly quiet." Mr Ng then called his 26-year-old son, who alerted the police. He said that an NParks officer called him on his mobile phone, and the officer asked him if he could "pinpoint" his position. "But I couldn't see any significant landmarks at all," said Mr Ng. "All around me were trees and more trees." The officer then told him how he could find his way to the water's edge, making use of the position of the sun. Said Mr Ng: "The officer asked me to conserve my energy, so I walked slowly as I was very tired and my legs were hurting." He said that there was deadfall littered all the way to the shore, but he knew that he was close when he hit marshy, wet ground. When he got to the shoreline, he spotted a motorised boat in the distance. On it were two NParks officers and a boat driver, who took Mr Ng to a waiting pickup truck which then drove him to where his car was parked. Police said they received a call at 4.05pm on Oct 15, requesting assistance at Upper Seletar Reservoir Park. A police spokesman said that a man in his 50s was located with the assistance of police and NParks officers, after he got lost in the forest. Mr Ng's eight-hour ordeal took such a toll on him that his legs become weak and he found it difficult to walk immediately after the incident. He also suffered blood clots under his toenails. Mr Ng said he was grateful to his rescuers for their efforts. He said: "I heard that my rescuers were activated just to find me even though it was a Saturday...I can't thank them enough." But despite the experience, the former minimart operator said he would carry on hiking to "pass his time". Said Mr Ng: "I would usually go with three of my good friends, but it so happened that they couldn't make it that day." He said his wife was supportive of his hobby, and would even go along on some of his hiking trips. "This was a one-off incident," he added. He said that he would carry more food and water with him on future hiking trips. "If I hadn't been so hungry, maybe I could've found the way out myself," he said. Be prepared and respect boundaries: nature guide Adventure-seekers should be prepared before setting off into the jungle, said Mr Ben Lee (right), a nature guide and founder of local non-profit organisation Nature Trekker. He said: "I always encourage trekkers to bring whistles, a torchlight, a raincoat and plenty of water. "If possible, the trekker should also bring a copy of a Singapore map and a compass." Mr Lee, who has 30 years of experience leading trekking groups, added that the forested area bounded by the Upper Seletar Reservoir where retiree Ng Lit Sin, 53, lost his way was a "dangerous" location for trekkers. He said: "There are tall trees with dense foliage and bushes everywhere, and the area is huge. "It's also home to venomous snakes such as the spitting cobra." Mr Lee said the venom of the spitting cobra, which can grow up to 1.5m, can kill if a victim is not treated quickly. Mr Lee and his 30 volunteer guides organise activities like nature walks and treks every weekend. He said that the hobby has grown to be "very popular", with about 70 per cent of Nature Trekker's 3,500 members polling it as a choice activity. Said Mr Lee: "Many people have the opportunity to become more appreciative of nature through trekking." "But it's also important for the public to note the out-of-bound areas and to respect that," he added. Others lost Over the years, people have been lost in the forested areas along Singapore's reservoirs. It was reported in 2008 that a Japanese jogger, Dr Brian Takei, was lost for 18 hours after veering from his usual jogging route near MacRitchie Reservoir. The man spent the night in the forest, quenching his thirst with rainwater. He was eventually rescued by the police and National Parks Board (NParks) rangers. Lost? Here's what to do Mr Ben Lee, a nature guide and founder of Nature Trekker Singapore, offers these tips. Stay calm You will be better equipped to make rational decisions. Dial 999 Most forests in Singapore are not too far from built-up areas, so you can get reception. Head to open ground Or find a prominent landmark so rescuers can find you. Tall trees, huts, and along jungle streams are good examples. Stay put and wait for help. Find a river or stream Follow the downstream flow to the reservoir. You'll be able to walk out to a track and eventually find your way out.
  16. This guy's karma isn't working for him clearly... He is able to escape this driver the first time, but just a bit ahead he can't avoid crashing that same car he escaped from:P Bad karma for you! ahaha Check out the video
  17. 8.30am on CTE this morning in bumper to bumper trafffic. I was 2 cars behind u and saw all you did. 1. U cut into lane 3 from AMK ave 1 sliproad, like as if u dont see any cars around. The can behind u jammed brake and I who was behind the cab almost hit the cab s rear bumper. 2. A car signalled and wanted to come into your lane seeing a gap between the car infront of u and yr car. You horned n drove up to close the gap n didnt want to let him in, eventhough I see his car already partly in yr lane. 3. You changed lane to 2 and then 1 in the same fashion as #1. For god s sake, insurance premium these days are high enough. Morons like u are the ones who causes us to pay higher premiums. I am not stereotyping Hondas, in fact I love the S2000 myself. But this guy (in glasses who looks like a teacher - saw his fark face when I drove by later) and the chick with him should be banned from our roads. For this one, I think it should warrant his car number being shown so that none of you shld go near him. Someone maybe highlight it on Honda forum as well. White Honda S2000 SJS 2003 # ( I think). And my 2010 greetings to you is none other than "F@%$ you".
  18. Saw this White Honda Civic zipping in and out of lanes when I was at BKE going into KJE towards Jurong. Must be rushing to pang sai so I simply shrugged it off when he was ahead of me, zig-zagging here and there.. Suddenly when I was cruising near CCK exit, saw this civic struck behind another car ( make unknown ) for a few seconds.. The car was going at perhaps 100km/hour. Yes. Road hogging. I got no problems with it as I was in middle lane. Suddenly this white civic chut pattern.. sped in front of the car in lane 1.. Jammed brake to 50km/hour. Then when the car behind knew that he was road hogging, switched to 2nd lane which was my lane and I was already in front watching the show unveil.. The white civic idiot still not happy, switched back to middle lane to jam brake on the car who is not finding trouble. I was already way in front as I kept my speed to 110km/hour.. then when he finished his s--t, he sped and overtook me and disappeared into one of the Jurong Exit.. Anyone knows where he stays exactly? I hope to pay him a visit one of these days to check out his nice car. Please pm me. I tried searching for his car details but seem that this car did not exist. Cant be leh.
  19. ht tp://www.gizmag.com/citroen-tubik-concept-high-tech-executive-shuttle-bus/19714/ Yet another interesting mobility idea to be seen for the first time at the Frankfurt Motor Show is Citroen's Tubik concept - a high-tech, high-comfort, connected executive shuttle. The idea came from Citroen's Multicity project, an online route-finder portal that provides a door-to-destination transport solution using all available modes - car, train, bus, plane etc. In looking at the big picture, Citroen realised that something was missing - a vehicle was needed that was more than a taxi and more flexible than a limousine. The Citroen Tubik is that solution. It has been fashioned using the latest technologies to be uber-comfortable with a flexible interior adaptable to carry a group of people or a single person and luggage. To make Tubik look even more protective, Citroen designers combined two contrasting colours: the metal grey of the body shell envelops the pearlescent white at either end, marking the position of the combustion engine (at the front) and electric motor (at the rear) used by the full-hybrid diesel drive train. With this simple but attractive exterior, the large two-way panoramic window and two large doors giving access to the driving position and living area are barely visible. The driver's door is rear-opening while the side door runs in a circle to free up the entire side of the vehicle.

  24. Labour chief Lim Swee Say says NTUC is moving towards a more pro-worker stance in the light of a full-employment economy. --PHOTO: BT THE NTUC is moving towards a more pro-worker stance in the light of a full-employment economy and is thinking of suggesting more measures to tighten the supply of foreign workers. The labour movement also wants to be more transparent about its internal discussions with the Government and employers so Singaporeans can appreciate the trade-offs made in positions taken on worker issues, said labour chief Lim Swee Say on Monday. 'While it is important for Singapore to be first in global competition, of growing importance is that Singaporeans come first in our local employment ...this is the best of both worlds that Singaporeans are expecting,' Mr Lim said. Mr Lim also said that the NTUC is thinking of pushing for a cap on the number of foreigners in white-collar jobs as well as to make a company's access to foreign workers conditional on it raising productivity or hiring older workers
