  1. so when you get salary increast dont be too happy PR can get subsidy why we true blue singaporeans are denied this has nothing to do with politics but policy who is in charge Long wait for bed 2 June 2011 Straits Times I WOULD like to recount my unpleasant experience when my father was admitted to Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) for inpatient treatment from May 17 to 24. He was admitted at noon on May 17 but was wheeled out of the hospital and made to wait for a bed in a makeshift tentage area. No bed was allocated even after a wait of seven hours. When a bed became available at a B1 ward, we were advised it would push up the bill by $900 for seven days' stay. However, we were told it might be possible to downgrade to a B2 ward and enjoy subsidised outpatient specialist fee if we were to explain our situation at the admissions office and to the relevant specialist. The interim bill on May 21 came to $3,700. So we requested a downgrade to a B2 ward at the admissions office but were advised that only the medical social worker at the care and counselling department could approve this. By the time we met the social worker on May 23, the interim bill had increased to $7,800. We were informed that our household income for our family of five exceeded the limit of $10,000 per month and so we did not qualify for the downgrade. When I discussed discharging my father with the doctors, they advised against it. We were caught in a situation where we could not downgrade to a B2 ward or safely seek discharge. In the end, on May 24, we secured discharge against the advice of the doctors as we could not afford to pay $1,000 each day. How could the hospital policy be formulated in a way that allows patients to be admitted to a ward of their choice regardless of their household income and yet, when a request for a downgrade is made, the criterion boils down to household income? Chong Gek Syn (Ms) Hospital to improve communications WE REFER to Ms Chong Gek Syn's feedback and would like to apologise for her father's long wait for a bed on May 17. Our bed occupancy rate reached a high over the long Vesak holiday weekend and we were doing our best to expedite all the admissions. As shared with all the patients awaiting admission, priority in bed allocation would be given to patients who are in a critical condition. In such a situation, patients who are stable and awaiting admission, such as Ms Chong's father, would continue to be cared for in an adjacent building near the emergency department, where they would be checked on regularly by our team of doctors and nurses. Ms Chong and her father had opted for a B2 ward originally, but decided to opt for a B1 ward, where beds were more readily available. As with all such requests, we informed them of the estimated bill size and the payment implications. We shared too that any request to later move to a subsidised ward would be subject to an assessment of their household income. This is to ensure that needy patients who require the heavily subsidised B2 or C ward beds more urgently are given priority. Ms Chong put in a request to move to a subsidised ward after her father was admitted in B1. They went through the means test and were unfortunately not eligible. The final out-of-pocket component of the hospital bill, after deducting from Medisave and insurance, was about $2,800. We empathise with the family and are in contact with them to see how we can further help them. We will also strive to improve our communications with patients to ensure we can help them make better informed decisions. Dr Eugene Fidelis Soh Chief Operating Officer Tan Tock Seng Hospital

  3. Stop asking stupid questions whether it is secret. Singapore got how many voters? How you trace when the serial number go up to max of 4 numbers. I smell either a conspiracy theory or the stench of daftness when people keep asking this question!
  4. FIRST OF ALL PLEASE UNDERSTAND that i have very good friends who are indians... i have indian ganster friends which i would not like to get into a fight with... i had an indian lawyer represent me before... i guess some of the best lawyers in SG are indians... so i do not have anything personal against indians... but this bitch is really sickening and irritating sia... i was at Leisure Park Kallang near Burger King there changing my BB's screen protector... was looking at the pushcart stalls when this indian woman came over to me and asked me where is THE Mac Donalds... she took a look at me for like a split sec and the the rest of the time she was asking, she was looking around... so i kept quiet looking at her looking around since she not even looking at me while asking for directions... Then she looked at me and ask again... so i told her dont have... no Mac Donalds here... then she stared at me in disbelief... and questioned me in abit of fustration... 'are you sure anot? how can it be? my son is here for the birday party...' i simply repeated myself 'no Mac Donalds...' she looked up and down and i guess she was hoping that Mac would simply appear... so i asked her if she drove... she said no with a tone like wtf has this to do with finding mac... so i told her i am very sure the birthday party is at the other end of the road... next to KFC... many kiddie birday parties there... it should be a 10-15min walk... she then simply walked off STILL looking around to see if Mac would appear... if she didnt believe me she could hv fcuking asked the info counter, the shops, or the stalls... but she asked me another shopper and NO thanks... NO greeting when she 1st asked... NO freaking basic manners... KNS.... i was damn pissed and the maid could tell already... i later did this sign to the maid implying her boss. and since i didnt feel like taking this lying down, i went over the the indian bitch and said "you are welcome for the directions..."and she stared at me for a second, and turned away... so i said to her.."hope it rain heavily while you walk to the Mac Donalds..." after this she hurriedly walked off away from me... i think only at this point of time then she knew i was pissed...KNN really no brains... at the point of time i was a little pissed... now of course not lah... just that sometime ppl without basic manners or courtesy i understand its just them... but when asking for help and directions still like that?... retarded... i should have pointed to nicoll highway direction and told them Mac Donalds is that way...
  5. I am sure there are ministers or MPs who are "retired" and/or disagree with PAP. What is stopping them from resigning from the party (if they are still in it) and joining opposition this time round to continue their work? If retired, why not join opposition? I mean it is not like they will lose their pensions. As for those who disagree but still in the government but frustrated but under GRC, can they like resign end of this term and begin the next term by campaigning for what they truely believe in? Is there any reason why they cannot? Please do not say that they are afraid of their rice bowl or something. I refer to those who really want to serve (and not motivated by money) but are intimidated by the party whip or those who are "retired" but they have their pensions

  8. In all my 20years plus of driving, i couldn't believe wat happened yesterday. Time was about 610pm, AYE towards Tuas. Being peak hours, traffic was heavy. Vehicles were more or less bumper to bumper but still moving at around 20 to 30kmh, i.e. not a traffic jam. I was in lane 1 and suddenly out of nowhere this black Honda Integra SFV 5768Z drive past me so fast IN BETWEEN lanes 1 and 2, i.e. like a motorcycle!! I dun know how far back he started this and how far ahead he continued this cos after the next 5 or 6 cars i can't see him already. Reading it from here, it may not sound like much but if you were there, keeping in lane making your way patiently through traffic and suddenly this car just speed by you in between 2 rows of vehicles is really shocking. If that idiot is reading this - better wake up ur idea!!
  9. LTA takes the cars that we scrap at ZERO value, then sells it to people at bidded value. Is this fair? No value is give to car that were scrapped. Its like taking farmer's land at Zero value then selling off to Developer at bidded value.
  10. The following sentences are extracted from the Caucasian's blog: "But Singaporeans really are frustratingly stupid. "Fortunately their birthrate is only about 1.25, so they will all die off soon enough. "Hopefully the Chinese, Malays and Indians that replace them will be smarter. "I don't like criticizing the intellectually handicapped, but in Singapore there would be few left others to criticize. "Singaporeans don't seem to be able to think for themselves. "An absolute herd mentality." ...This white trash born loser who does not know how to blend into the society and manipulate to his advantage....still dare to voice his shallowness criticism in the public forum. What does our forumers say about such idiotic posting...your comments
  11. Downtown East murder: Teen suspect jumped three storeys to escape police In his desperation to escape from the police, he leapt three storeys off a balcony and into the swimming pool from the Honeymoon Suite at the SAF Yacht Club in Tanah Merah Coast Road. Tragically for Edward Tay Wei Loong, 18, he plunged into the shallow end of the pool, which is only 1.1m-deep, hitting his head against the tiles of the pool, reported The New Paper. Tay, who is among four teens charged with the Downtown East murder of Darren Ng Wei Jie, is now in the intensive care unit of Changi General Hospital (CGH) after an operation to relieve the internal bleeding inside his skull. 13. I parked at Geylang Bahru Blk 50plus carpark.. I saw the whole row was red parking lots for season parking.. so i drove right to the end where white lots were available.. it was 930pm, so I used a half-hour coupon, and 4 one-hour coupons even though I am not parking overnight. I knew I might leave abt 12-1am.. I came back after my visit, to see an offense ticket.. I read the details and he indicated that I parked without a valid SEASON PARKING ticket! He must be farking blind to not see those are white lots.. Or he didnt know red are strictly for season parking ticket holders? Or I am not aware that now I cant park in white lots as they are now just like red lots for season parking ticket holders only too? Frustration! I now need to call hdb to clarify and to appeal.. need to call, being put on hold for many minutes, then write in.. all for an offense I didnt commit! And this Iskandar Bin Mohd Ismail is from Chubb.. Doesn't Chubb train them to differentiate red and white?
  14. I just got trapped in the traffic for like 30mins. both to and fro getting to takashimaya. The stupid cars trying to get into paragon car park is like taking up 2 lanes and so this causes a jam for the people trying to get into CTE. and this jam causes a Jam for people trying to get into takashimaya and all the way back to the cairnhill exit of CTE. It is crazy. worse is that there are two traffic police doing nothing, looking at the jam outside paragon...... Why they don't do something about the traffic outside paragon????? crazy lah, when stupid drivers block up the middle lane. They should put a divider so middle lane cannot turn into paragon...
  15. to rant a bit....i know that this is not the unusual..... this stupid car rush out the road without seeing me approaching.....which forces me e-braked to avoid crashing into him. i did horn him and we stopped at a junction. he then proceeded to point forbidden finger..... what on this world is it coming to....car can just come out of the road without looking......and points @#$% finger at someone.....
  16. To the stupid fella driving along ECP this morning around 7:20am when it was raining quite heavy. Please don't turn on your hazard lights JUST because it starts to rain heavily. You are NOT doing anyone a favour but instead, causing confusion to ALL. Nobody knows if your CTR spoil, if you want to turn left, want to turn right... In-fact, you are the ONLY joker doing that.. maybe you are tying to attract attention to your CTR? Don't be so ho-lian.... drive CTR only..not Veyron. Peace.

  18. Just now went to SIM to make payment for school fees. As car park is full, I have to park at the loading and unloading bay. Its very crowded inside and this stupid car park right in the middle making it almost impossible for me to get out. The idiot also never leave any number behind. If you are parking such that you are blocking others, at least have the courtesy to leave your HP number displayed on your windscreen or something. then others can contact you. Idiot stupid driver.......
  19. Was moving off from sim lim square. The road behind sim lim. The one way roAd out to rochor road. I saw a car trying to do a reverse into the 1 way lane. Obviously tryin to cheat the erp. I made a rash decision maybe tryin to be smart Alec. Maybe unhappy that someone trying something illegal and potentially obstructing the road and for skipping the erp. So I purposely drove forward to prevent him from successfully reverse in. He braked. And stopped his ride and This angry young man came out of his car and was not happy that I purposely obstuct him. He did apologise for his action but unhappy that I Kay poh and I told him off. He said he can afford to pay the 2 bucks erp mah, and another 2 pAsengers got out of that car. He then asked me come out car talk. I did not budge as my girlfriend was in the car. The other passenger also beri yaya. Wan2 argue with me, his gf still hugging that arse. Sensing the high tension, my gf apologise and asked me to drive off. The guy not happy and then threw some monies into my car. F++. I was at boiling point Liao. Almost wanted to dash out n throw the money into his face. In the end I threw it onto the floor. That guy meanwhile went to his car to take a spanner Liao. At this juncture I decide to drive off as my gf was quite frightened Liao. That arse wanted to smash his spanner at my windows but I tink he backed out in the end as I could see him withdrawing his hands away from my ride as I drove away. I wan2 apologise to my girlfriend for causing her to be unhappy and frightened this whole evening. I promise not to be so Kay poh again. But then again if my gf was not with me, I might have retaliated. Though what I did trying to act like a law enforcer was wrong in the first place.

  21. The dreaded date has finally come. Starting 16th Dec 2009, Singapore Registered Vehicles can only pump up to a maximum of 20 litres of petrol in Malaysia (Including Johor Bahru). This means that the petrol stations in Malaysia/Johor Bahru will only allow you to pump up to 20 litres of petrol. Failing which, petrol stations can be fined up to RM250,000 while you can be fined up to RM100,000 if you do not adhere to the new ruling. In our earlier posting here, we highlighted concerns on how the ruling can be implemented without causing confusion and inconvenience to owners of Singapore-Registered vehicles. At Limsimi.com, we now compile some of the frequently asked questions and hope to provide an insight of what you can expect in Johor Bahru starting tomorrow. It is indeed a sad day for owners of Singapore-Registered vehicles. Q: How can the ruling be enforced? I can just pump petrol beyond 20 litres and no one will really know. A: Plain-clothes enforcement officers will be deployed to petrol stations in border towns, including Johor Bahru. They will be authorised to issue summon while can lead to a RM100,000 fine for you. Q: It is easy for me to
  22. "I'll go take a nap first before I finish my robbery." A court in Qingyuan county, Liaoning province, sentenced an ex-convict to six years in prison for attempted robbery, as he tried to commit the crime immediately after being released from prison in November. The accused, surnamed Zhang, left for Qingyuan county soon after being released from the county prison. With no cash for food, Zhang barged into a 48-year-old woman's house, hoping to steal some money. The woman, however, convinced Zhang that he looked very tired and should take a nap, promising him to give him some money once he woke up. The woman tied the intruder with a rope as soon as he slept off and phoned the police.
  23. Hi, Was wondering if it is fine to leave the cigarette lighter in the car compartment under the hot sun (whole full day) ? Haha...is it a stupid qs ?? dun flame me please, thanks :) Thank you
  24. I was stucked at level 6 carpark today (27 Nov 09) at 5.30pm. I only managed to reached the spiral slope at about 6.30pm and exited to main road at about 6.40pm. Anyone was stucked as well? I saw quite a few people gave up waiting, parked their cars and made their way back to the mall. Stupid location of the carpark exit. Those who want to turn right to travel eastwards have to wait forever for the road to clear before they can cut out. Stupid design of the carpark entrance and exit at the spiral slope. Cars that are leaving blocked by cars coming in to park. And cars coming to park are blocked by cars leaving. This is the first time i kenna stuck at a "jam" for more than 1 hour. I was so tempted to call the traffic hotline to warn motorists of the jam at vivocity carpark, when i heard over class95 that the roads were clear. [furious]
