  1. Can anyone let me know where is the cheapest season parking near HarbourFront or Vivo? Any idea what are the season parking rate around there? Thanks in advance !
  2. Hey guys, I'm a new car owner and it's my first time getting season parking on my own. A friend helped me get the season parking for December 09. When I tried to apply for next month (Jan 2010), the HDB online system says it's full. They offered me an alternative lot but it's ridiculously far away. Does anyone know how I can get through Jan 2010 without season parking?
  3. rafa to blame or players?
  4. Does anyone knows how much is the season parking at the KTM station and where can I apply for it ? My office is at keppel Towers so it's quite near.
  5. The road will be wet and slippery, be careful when you drive during this time of monsoon season. (Higher accident time of the year) At least you don't have to wash car, let the rain clean her own. Monsoon expected in mid-November Mon, Nov 16, 2009 AsiaOne Be prepared for the rainy season. According to National Environment Agency's (NEA), the north-east monsoon is expected to set in around mid-November. Periods of moderate to heavy rain are expected to last till January. During this time, high tides ranging from 3.0 to 3.2 metres could lead to localised flash floods in low-lying areas such as Lorong Buangkok, Jalan Seaview, Meyer Road, Lorong 101 to Lorong 106 Changi and Everitt North Road. Motorists travelling along roads in these areas are advised to exercise caution if there are flash floods. The national water agency, PUB, had sent advisories to residents and shopowners in these areas to warn them of the possibility of flash floods and to take necessary precautions to protect their belongings. NEA will also be issuing warnings when heavy rain or prolonged monsoon rain is expected. Latest weather news reports, including heavy rain warnings, can be obtained by tuning in to radio broadcasts, calling NEA's weather forecast hotline at 6542 7788, visiting the NEA website at www.nea.gov.sg or accessing the mobile weather service (Weather@SG - weather.nea.gov.sg). The public can also call PUB's 24-hour Call Centre at 1800-284 6600 to report obstructions in drains or to check the flood situation.

  8. SURIYA Bala Kerisnan has been offered a full-season drive in the Formula BMW Pacific series for next year by Asia Racing Team. The offer came after the 16-year-old student from St. Francis Methodist School impressed Asia Racing Team manager Phillippe Descombes - even though he didn't complete the entire race. Suriya was hit in the rear by an opponent and the damage to a rear suspension arm made him lose control of the car on the first lap. But he did enough for Descombes to offer him a drive. "It was very exciting to see what Suriya did at the start of the race," said Descombes. "I didn't even expect such a performance from him, given his debut here, his lack of experience compared to the others. "We held back in the first race on Saturday (when he finished 15th out of 19 cars)and we told him to be more aggressive today and express himself, but he surprised us all with his moves." Till that accident in the 10-lap race yesterday, Suriya had overtaken three rivals from the start. The first was a spectacular overtaking move down the start-finish straight - Kimi Raikkonen or Lewis Hamilton-style - going onto the green strip close to the wall of the Pit Grandstand side to move past Fahad Algosaibi in his E-Rain Racing car. Suriya took another rival under braking with a clean overtaking move going into Turn 5, and made up one more place soon after to be as high as 14th (out of 19 cars), before he wash it and spun off. Descombes said: "Someone like him needs testing time, and physical development, because he's lagging far behind the rest. "But he has that racing instinct, and that's why I offered him this one-off drive for this weekend in Singapore. "What I've seen over the past three days has convinced me." Crash Suriya's crash took place where Nelson Piquet Jr made his deliberate crash for Renault in last year's Singapore Grand Prix. Suriya escaped unhurt though, after his car spun exiting the corner and hit the wall opposite, like Piquet Jr did last year. Suriya said: "A Team Holzer car behind me was very aggressive and it hit me from behind at the previous corner (Turn 16). "Something broke at the back, and the car just got away from me as I crashed at Turn 17. "I was so disappointed because I was fired up to have a good race after a great start." Descombes said: "A rear suspension arm broke at the back after he was hit, and that caused him to lose control." But Suriya now has a chance to take part in more races - a full season of 15 in five locations in Asia from April to November next year. He'll need cash to realise his F1 dream IF SURIYA Bala Kerisnan accepts the offer of a full-season drive, it will cost Suriya's family more money. For a full season of racing in this series (which includes the car, team support, insurance for crashes and development regime), his family has to cough up at least 180,000 euros (S$374,000). Descombes said: "A cheaper programme is available, but it depends on whether he wants the best and full package." The 35-year-old Frenchman - who has 16 years of experience in motorsport - should know. He helped developed last year's Formula BMW Pacific champion Ross Jamison over two winter-period testing programmes in late 2006 and 2007. He also helped refine 2007 Formula BMW Asia champion Jazeman Jaafar during the 2006 Formula Renault series. Formula BMW Pacific has a higher standard of racing than its Asia series, and Suriya now needs the funds to realise the first step towards a Formula One dream. A go-kart racer till recently, Suriya was invited to race in Formula Renault - another single-seater series - in China last month, where he finished 10th in his first race, and 10th again in the second race (after starting from 14th). That's how Descombes spotted him. His father - construction businessman TM Bala Kerisnan Thevar - has already forked out 40,000 euros for this weekend's race alone. This is because of the higher fees incurred at an F1 support event. That's life in the lower leagues of motorsport, where you pay to drive until you're good enough to be paid to drive (like Brazilian Felipe Nasr, a guest driver during this weekend's Formula BMW Pacific race and winner in the two races on Saturday and yesterday). That's why more support and sponsorship are needed. On his car over the weekend, Suriya had only one local sponsor - www.abiraamejewellers.com - on the side of his car. Suriya said: "My eyes have been opened to another world this weekend, after being the first Singaporean in a single-seater category here. I'm glad I created history and I hope there will be more support after this weekend."

  12. Hi bros and sis. Due to the fact I return very late at night and I have to go very far from my house to get a lot but it is still within my season parking designated carparks. Then in the morning when cars left I will shift my car to the carpark under my block. However a friend told me that if fatimah was to scan my car at the other carpark before I shift my car then she walk over to the carpark under my block and scan my car again because I shifted it I will kena summoned. Is this true? Now I am worried because I shift my car around 7am and fatimah active around that time in my area. Please advise!!
  13. There is speculation that BMW Sauber F1 will not compete next season. A press conference has been called for Wednesday for BMW's senior management to announce some news, possibly about its F1 participation. If indeed BMW withdraws, it will come as grave news for fans. This comes less than a year after Honda F1's withdrawal. Both manufacturers had high hopes for winning as constructors, but disappointingly both of them have only managed 1 race win each since their 2006 comeback. Hopefully the team will not disappear outright. Perhaps Peter Sauber can be persuaded to take back his team and run it as a Cosworth engined independent, like the 3 new entrants of 2010.
  14. other than cairnhill place. where else? tried to ask about the emerald hill, but all for tenants/residents

  18. Recently, I just kena a $50 fine for parking at season parking lot in a HDB carpark. Only weird thing is, I DO have season parking for this carpark! But the parking ticket stated that I committed the offence in another carpark just a few blocks away. I haven't even parked at the other carpark for at least 2 years. Car had just been parked at my season carpark for the entire day. My carpark is Q30, the other is Q31 so my guess is that the parking officer keyed in the wrong carpark when he scanned my RFID lah. Anyone appealed against such a fine before and successful? It's theoretically my word against the parking officer right? I'm quite confident of a successful appeal but wow, if it can happen to me, then I wonder what if it happens to someone who doesn't know how to appeal? And I just found out I had another friend who kena this before.
  19. I have the RFID tag for HDB season parking. Is a need to show the tag or simply have the tag in the car? For example, could I leave the RFID tag in the glove compartment as the parking warden uses a scanner to identify if a car have a valid RFID.
  20. Without a doubt, the winner has to be Adam Lambert already. A league in his own Finals I say Mat Vs Adam OR Danny Vs Adam. Any one else?
  21. Price of HDB season parking : Dad's car VS my Car I just applied for HDB parking at https://services2.hdb.gov.sg/webapp/BN22ISP...Instruction.jsp my dad is paying $65/month for his 3 year old car, while i have to pay $90/ month for my new car we are staying together. Why is this so?
  22. The following report is taken from Mirror.co.uk Sports Five reasons why the title is Liverpool's and five reasons why Manchester United could blow it FIVE REASONS WHY TITLE IS LIVERPOOL'S 1 RAFA BENITEZ Nobody plots individual matches better than Rafa but eight games in two months will allow the Spaniard to show he knows how to manage a season. Benitez has won a title from the big guns before, when Valencia pipped Barcelona and Real Madrid to lift La Liga. 2 STEVEN GERRARD & JAMIE CARRAGHER The side's heart and soul - they know just how much it would mean to end that 19-year wait for the title. Gerrard has been an inspiration all season, while Carragher epitomises Scouse conviction and passion. 3 FERNANDO TORRES The Spaniard has had an injuryscarred campaign but his movement remains magical. He's come on in leaps and bounds from the man known more for his misses than his goals at Atletico Madrid. 4 ANFIELD The Kop are Liverpool's extra man and are set to pick the players up and carry them over the line like they used to in those European glory nights of the 70s and 80s. 5 FIXTURES The Reds have a kinder run-in than United and even the hardest game, against Arsenal, comes with them having rested over the FA Cup semi-final weekend, three days earlier. FIVE REASONS WHY UNITED COULD BLOW IT 1 NERVES They looked a shoo-in two weeks ago but now the pressure is on and United could lose a title that really was theirs for the taking. Fergie went through the same thing in 1998 as Arsenal won their first crown under Arsene Wenger. 2 DISCIPLINE Recent red cards for Nemanja Vidic, Paul Scholes and Wayne Rooney mean all three will be missing against Aston Villa. Referees will have noted the snarling aimed at Phil Dowd on Saturday and will clamp down harder than before. 3 CRISTIANO RONALDO Unstoppable last term but his on-field bickering with teammates, opponents and referees is turning the Portuguese back into Public Enemy No.1. Unless he gets his act together it could be destabilising. 4 OLD TRAFFORD The stadium is more intimidating than the fans and back- to-back defeats will add to the edginess against Villa in a fortnight. Fans are prone to get on the players' backs when things aren't going well. 5 FIXTURES United are still competing on three fronts and have a much tougher league run-in than Liverpool, including Arsenal and Spurs at home, and desperate Middlesbrough away. I agree that MU has a tougher run-in as compare to Liverpool said to have a kinder run-in. MU
