I just went for my 1K servicing yesterday at MBM Wheelpower, and as I've only been to an AD service centre (Kah Motors), I wonder if my experience yesterday is typical of most/all PI workshops. I went to the reception counter, and was told to go to the workshop myself and look for their service advisor. So I was kind of walking about outside the workshop because everyone there is just busy going about their work and I had no idea who I'm supposed to look for. Finally a kind gentleman saw me looking rather lost and came over to help me. This is very different from my AD experience, because at the AD service centre, all I had to do was pass my service booklet to the receptionist, and they would send one of their service advisors out to me. No confusion whatsoever on my part. Is this typical of PI workshops, where customers have to look for service advisors themselves, or is it just this particular workshop? I have to say, I would much rather pay a small premium for the kind of service the AD workshops provide - online service appointments, cleaner and more spacious parking lots, free Wifi, more choices in terms of service centres, and no need for me to wander into their workshops looking for an advisor I do not know.

Hi guys Based on past servicing I notice I pay 3% of car value for servicing each year A good example is vios at 3% means $3k servicing a year May I know for higher level cars like conti is it 5-10% of car value Eg Audi is 200k so servicing is $10k a year?

Hi Bros, I have a hypothetical question and it goes like this. Usually after servicing my car at a certain workshop, the mechanic would take the car for a test drive to see if there are any problems with the car after servicing. So what happens if: 1) During test drive, something else breaks down after servicing? (eg. radiator pipe burst, suspension noise starts to appear, tyre kenna nail puncture, etc.) 2) During test drive, the mechanic met with an accident with my car and my insurance doesn't cover him? Who is gonna pay for the damages? Appreciate your valuable advice/comments. Thanks.

Hello all, I bought a 2nd hand Chevrolet optra, mileage 70k, even if the dealer said timing belt had changed, but he couldn't provide the servicing record for this changes, to be safe i intend to do the servicing and change the timing belt, can anyone recommand an good WS for the servicing? I am surfing Chevrolet club, some members recommanded RDY in AMK, some recommanded Alpine Centre, but some members got very bad experience as bad experience with RDY Please give advice

I know of friends (guys and girls) who don't know anything about cars at all, get ketok from many different places on their cars, from the buying of the car, to the insurance, to the servicing. While this isn't happening in Singapore, do share with your driver friends. Check up on your driver's manual to see what needs servicing when, because, the manufacturers would know better (usually lah)...
