I think the present Shell promotion to reward motorists who pump Shell is a JOKE. I got one No 1 in my receipt and because I use my UOB card it was double the reward. Guess what I got - a $2 Shell car wash voucher! Big deal, isn't it? I think to get a petrol voucher must get at least 3 if not 4 number 1 in the receipt. This goes to show the insincerity of Shell to reward motorists who patronise their stations.

was at Sengkang Esso last nite around 11pm. it was packed. every bay occupied and there were cars waiting. i then drove to Shell where there was not a single car in sight. in stark contrast to their promotion on 24 Oct.

hey ppl! when we make payment at shell for fuel they always ask "redeem your smart $?" if you use your UOB card. do you redeem? i just came back from the station and when asked, i said "yea, redeem" only to realise that i redeemed $20 worth of smart $! didn't even know i had that much. my question is..... is it really smart to redeem the smart $ at shell? or should we wait for other stuff?anyone done any research on this? hahaha....

If you use your brains to think, this is what SHELL is doing.... Selling petrol for $1 will bring people who pumps from ESSO, SPC AND CALTEX to SHELL. Oil prices will raise in the next couple of months, by now do you get the picture? SHELL is showing that there is improved mileage in their petrol and when petrol prices soar.. SHELL will give you better mileage than other petrol. Therefore, people will go to shell. How they earn back their "losses" is simple.... using the simple basic principal of "Holding Power/Stock". Do check your mileage and lets us know if there is an improvement.. Thanks for reading!

I hope I didn't see the price board wrongly...as calculated, all grades dropped 3 cents as from today @ 1030hrs. not sure other cartel will follow soon ?

As above, seems to have gone up 4 or 5cts (cannot remember). I pumped yesterday. Seems they celebrate a podium finish by raising the prices on us.

to celebrate national day and remind drivers that this is the actual tax amount imposed by the govtment so its sunday 4-5pm for all petrol diesel except ron 92 flat rate 44cents off per litre

I used to pump shell. No reason why, maybe because of its brand name and convenience as they have plentiful of stations everywhere. As I was trying to save a bit of $, and esso seems to give more discount with by citibank dividend card, I changed to esso. Surprisingly, I find that esso 95 is smoother and seems to give more power than shell 95. Anyone with similar experiences? I shared this with one of my colleagues and she told me that she thought the same as well, but refused to believe in it.

I just received an sms from shell that they are going to have promotion again for their V power but whenever they have such promo they will increase the price of the petrols in general. I have stop visiting shell long time ago but tong long tong long lar dun increase the prices Any views from MCF bros?

SINGAPORE: Shell announced on Thursday that it will progressively phase out its Formula 92 petrol from stations island-wide. This will be completed by the end of June. General Manager for Retail Sales and Operations for Shell Eastern Petroleum, Henry Chu said most consumers prefer 95 octane and 98 octane fuels, and taking away the octane 92 will allow customers more space in the stations to provide the 95 and 98. About five per cent of Shell 's customers still use Formula 92. However, while 92-Octane petrol is the cheapest, it's not necessarily the smartest choice as more fuel is needed to reach optimum levels. In contrast, rival Caltex had launched its own version of 92-octane petrol less than two months ago. This was done as a cheaper fuel alternative for motorists. Currently, 92 grade petrol is priced at around a S$1.52 per litre in Singapore. 95 grade petrol is now about a S$1.55 per litre with 98-grade petrol going at about a S$1.64 per litre. - 938LIVE/vm

Hi. My key fob's battery is dead, had to use the key manually all the time. The screw thread is gone and I am unable to open up the key shell without cracking it in the process. I'm looking for a 2-button Accord CL-7 key shell replacement. Soxxi had no solutions for me when I approached them yesterday except to suggest replacing the entire remote system at $500++. I was also told the circuitry is hard-wired into the key shell and cannot be transferred out. Any advise? Thanks and have a good weekend everyone

Wonder if anyone here notices, but Shell die die don't want to lower the price of their Ron92. It has been almost a week and they are still firm with the price of $1.535 for the 92 when the 95 is priced at $1.537. I do not pump Shell but I feel it is not fair to those loyal shell customers who can only get the best discount(with certain credit cards or priviledges) when they pump at Shell instead of the other petrol companies. And if the other companies decide to raise prices for their 92, you will know who to blame.
