  3. There is a Skoda Roadshow at Far East Sqaure Watergate for the period stated above. They are offering a 50% BUY BACK GUARANTEE after 5 years for all new bookings at the roadshow, plus a few other freebies. p.s. I do not work for Czech Auto. Just wanted to share this info for this forum users who share a passion for Skoda cars.
  4. Anyone out there (esp Skoda owners, fellow VAG-ers', etc.) ever wondered what on earth the Skoda emblem really was ? Well, sadly, I occasionally did and actually had some digging done and, well, here's what got unearthed..... Can't help but wonder what happened between 1937 and 1991, tho'..... No idea why the pics got all jumbled-up - posted them in sequence....
  5. Got the rear left brake light assembly damaged yesterday at IMM during reversing. Call CA this morning and enquire about the price for the unit. The price was $210 per assy. So bo pian, bought it because it was the last piece. before the next shipment of spares arrive. As for fitment, DIY. Tools required are 2x open end sizes 8mm and 10mm, 1x philips screwdriver and 1x small flat screwdriver for prying purposes. Time taken slightly more than an hour. Look like the skoda spares are pretty expensive.
  6. Hi Skodaman, Do you find the horn on the Skoda on the soft side ? Also, does the horn work with the key at the off position? (all my previous Jap cars works even without the key in the ignition). regards
  7. Hi guys, I have VW logo on my rims of the Fabia I drive and I am beginning to dislike it if onlookers think I am trying to disguise my Faby as a VW make. I am considering various options to debadge the rims but before I do it, I thought I'd create a poll and hear your comments as well. FYI, I got the VW rims because of Option 2 in the polls - Couldnt find a suitable rims for the Skoda except for a VW make - which is Made in Italy! I could find a 16" for my Faby's PCD but then again, my Faby cannot take 16".... as its stock size is just 14" and as it was, its already very underpowered.
  8. I am ordering brake pads for the Fabia from the local agent for Textar. I sourced for the pads because I dunno what high charges CA will levy on me when I next change it... hence, better keep some stocks like I did for my oil filter.... any Fabians want oil filter can get from me... I have 4 lying around in my house. Those are MANN.... anyway: The cost of the brake pads for the Fabia is Front
  9. Hi fellow VAG-platform owners, especially the Octy's, if there are any here, Posted a similar query on the Seat forum and was quite amused with the replies so far that I thought I'd post it for you folks too. And it's regarding the manual gearbox - when shifting into 1st, I occasionally get a 'thud' as the gear goes in tho' most other times, it's a 'thud-thud'. The former caught me off-guard twice where I thought I'd engaged 1st but when I released the clutch, the shifter simply popped back to neutral. Not very funny when going up a slope or at a traffic light in rush hour. Any of you get such a thing too, or is this something Tody-specific ? Then again, I believe both the Octy and Tody share the same gearbox, don't they ?

  11. Yo Skodians, I think our JTA has increased prices of parts. Here are the details, according to ,my invoices. Invoice date: 29/12/01 Labour charge for replacement of sparkplugs & gear oil = $45 Oil filter = $14 Spark plugs = $20 Invoice date: 27/7/01 Oil filter = $10 Bulb, signal = $2 Notice the increase in the price of the oil filter at $14 versus $10? Skodians, pls refer to your invoice and input the prices JTA charges here. That way, we can keep in check if they are charging us too much.
  12. Got a chance to drive pass the new Skoda showroom the other day and noted that the Skoda logo look a little cartoon. Not the nice Skoda logo that used to stand outside the JTA showroom. The thing just didn't have any presence. Another thing... the showroom is so small! Similar to the Citreon showroom? I wonder where their customers are going to park their cars. Nonetheless, looking forward to the big bang. Hope they'll bring in the station wagons.
  13. Wah lau, u guys making me worried... so why are you getting the key code back from JTA? Shouldnt they pass it to Czech Auto as custody over the code? So is it advisable to get the codes back? Pls advise. TKS!
  14. Has anyone seen the new SKODA showroom/repair centre at Leng Kee? Drove past a couple of days ago, and noticed that everything(renovation that is) is almost up...Just left the display cars, staff and mechanics!!! Quite exciting. If you fellas drive past, look out for an empty SR next to Saab's SR...It's at the end of the row of showrooms, end of LK rd. Think it's supposed to be ready in June'02. Any one know when it's to be officially opened???
  15. Was told by my colleague who drove up to Genting over the weekend that he saw a Silver Octavia broke down somewhere along the way to Genting. Shucks! It was the hilly area too! Wonder what happened...
  16. Meow

    Skoda Warranty

Meow...........Good news for some Skoda owners. Czech Auto have replied to Meow the manufacturner warranty is still valid.(One year) But lose another year. .The contact person is Mr Lim 64741111
  17. I just visited their website skoda-auto.com and couldnt find their FORUM page which used to be there. Have they removed it? f they did, must be due to the overwhelming response from the Singapore owners that made the Czechs decide that the forum is spoiling their name.
  18. I believe this folder is closed for Skoda owners onli!!!
  19. Wah damn sad man Look like I cannot recieve delivery of my Skoda forever. After almost 10 months wait Skoda now tells its 60 outstanding buyers with JTA that they can place new order with new distributor and they have nothing to do with JTA.
  20. Sonnytay

    Skoda F1

Hey Hey Hey ...... My first posting here. Glad to see you guys yaking actively, feels just like ex-home (Delphi). Some stupid bus driver hit-and-run my skoda on the front left area, from blinker to wheel arch. . With the current situation of skoda dealership, the Comfort Auto Service guy told me to be prepared to wait a long long time for the parts. They have another skoda waiting for parts for 4-5 months liao. Anyway, attach some photos of my skoda for your viewing pleasure. Another hit on my right side and my car will look like a Formula 1 car, with pointed nose. Honk twice to send your sympathies if you happen to see me on the road. Honk once if you are horny. Cheers.

    Skoda Tudor

Amidst this bad news with the local agent... there's still something to be proud of with Skoda. Anyone here seen the picture of the new Skoda Tudor. I hope it will be put to production.
  22. just happened to come across this in the Business Times today; "Peter Kwee's Group Exklusiv, which has been making news with sensational acquisitions, has done it again. The privately held enterprise - best known for its cars and golf businesses - has secured the distributorship for Skoda, the Volkswagen-owned Czech marque. BT understands the previous representative, cash-strapped JTA Motors, has been served a termination notice. Group Exklusiv will sell Skodas under a new company, Czech Auto. To be sited at an $8 million facility at No 3 Leng Kee Road, the new division will complement the group's Renault and Volkswagen businesses when it is ready in the third quarter...." THE BEST PART 'We welcome all Skoda customers,' he said. 'Skoda has a charm of its own, and we've got exciting products coming.' He will be bringing in the entire Fabia range, which includes a hatchback, sedan and stationwagon. The sporty 180-horsepower Octavia RS is also in the pipeline." BT online 5th Apr' 02
  23. Wah seh man! Our Skoda has done very well in the residual value arena. It's also one of the most reliable and cheapest cars to run.
  24. Hi! My factory fitted car remote from Skoda spoilt a 3rd time. No matter how I press the remote key, the car door won't unlock. Now using my spare. This is the 3rd change JTA had done for me and I am thinking going 3rd party. Anyone can recommend me a good and reliable place?
