  1. From its previous generation to the recently launched one, the Honda Accord has been a generally well-liked family sedan. So to add on a bit of spice, I've decided to see whether there are any nice tuning bits for this handsome car. Mugen has already done some cool packages for the Accord. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that this is actually the Accord Hybrid, which has not arrived on our shores yet but it seems to me that most of the styling changes can be retrofitted onto the normal Accord too. On the outside, Mugen has given it more presence with a new set of front, side and rear skirts. There are carbon front grill and carbon boot lid spoiler as well. You can also opt for their new 19-inch lightweight alloy wheels to improve on the handling side of the already well-balanced sedan. Other than the above mentioned, those who already have the car should go and get a set of coilover to complete the stance look!
  2. Here's mine....
  3. How long is needed before an icon can be created? Many of us don't hold the answer - but Porsche does. Half a century of the 911 has seen it become one of the benchmarks - not just in its segment, but in the automotive industry. 50 years and seven generations - few models can claim a life as long-lived as the 911. That said, the 911's recipe has raised brows since its inception. Its engine is at the wrong end of the car. The looks? Many argue that it has hardly changed at all. But for Porschephiles - it is the timeless looks that, perhaps, hold the greatest appeal of all. It all started in 1963, when Ferdinand Alexander Porsche 'Butzi' penned the 911 to take over the 356. The second generation came in 1973 - almost a decade after the first 911's debut. It is also this generation that spawned the famous 'Turbo' variant, which was launched in 1976 - amidst an oil crisis. But that did not stop the 911 Turbo to become one of the greatest sportscar of its time. Codenamed '964', the third generation was massively revamped, carrying only 20 percent of its parts from its predecessor. The 'modern' 911 also incorporated new technologies, such as ABS, airbags, as well as Porsche's 'Tiptronic' automatic transmission and Carrera 4's all-wheel drive system. The fourth generation (codenamed '993') took the centre stage in 1993. As the last generation to sport an air-cooled flat-six engine, its status in history is firmly sealed. And it remains to be one of the favourites among fans of the marque. The fifth generation (codenamed '996') is very different from its forebears. It was bigger and has a sleeker profile, and more importantly the engine at its rump now employs water-cooling technologies. It was regarded by many as a departure from the previous 911s. The sixth generation (dubbed '997') saw the creation of a number of new variants, such as the 911 Speedster, 911 Sports Classic, and GT2 RS - the most hardcore road-going 911 thus far. The current generation reinvents the icon with a slew of new technologies. For instance, the GT3 ditched the old 'Metzger' block for a brand new engine. The track weapon also comes exclusively with PDK (Porsche's iteration of the dual-clutch gearbox) - no more manual transmission. This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the 911. And as expected, there are celebrations being held at various places around the world. But nothing comes close to that at Silverstone. At an event organised jointly by Porsche Cars GB (a Porsche-only car club in U.K.) and Silverstone Classic, a total of 1,208 911s gathered at the circuit. The scale of the event was never preceded, and sets a new world record. It is amazing how the 911 has progressed through the years. At the same time, we too wonder how long the 'evergreen' design is here to stay, and if it does, how will it look ten, twenty years down the road. Only time will tell.

  5. A Malaysian man who tried to smuggle contraband cigarettes into Singapore in a sports car was stopped in his tracks early Friday morning. The 26-year-old, who was driving a Malaysia-registered sports car, was stopped for checks at Woodlands Checkpoint. Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers found 100 cartons of contraband cigarettes hidden in the rear speaker compartment of the car. The total customs duty and GST payable of the cigarettes are estimated to be about S$7,700. If found guilty, the man faces a fine that is up to 40 times the amount of duty evaded and/or jailed for up to six years. The vehicle used in moving the contraband can also be forfeited. 10. What do you all think the ideal fun driving sports car should be? In my opinon, it should have the below characteristics - 1) NA 2) Manual Transmission 3) Double wishbone front, multi-link back 4) 50/50 weight distribution 5) rear wheel drive 6) light kerb weight (<=1300kg) So far very few cars can have all of the above...at least for the newer cars available today....
  11. |Link| Possibly the S65/S8/B7 competitor from Japan?
  12. Hi guys, can help give inputs on these 3 tyres? I am looking to change my tyres next week. 205 55 16.
  13. Something very basic, just gives total run distance / time, no need heart rates etc or download-function. Something like the Soleus GPS 1.0 Apparently this model retails for about $180, cheaper than most other GPS watches (which have more functions though) and good for users just want to know distance/time only. For about the same price, any better choice? Many thanks
  14. Any bro know how to do it? I only know the frequency is 76.25Mhz..... Can't seem to tune to it....
  15. For those automotive enthusiasts who are into the sport of golf, this piece of news is for you. Ferrari has teamed up with Cobra Puma Golf to add the iconic prancing horse on a line of golfing equipment. This long-term partnership between Cobra Puma Golf and Ferrari SpA is bringing a new type of product to the industry that is both beautiful and technically advanced, truly merging both art and science. The Ferrari Golf Collection was developed through a collaboration with Cobra Puma Golf and Ferrari SpA. It brings the most innovative technologies from Cobra Puma Golf engineers and Ferrari aerodynamic engineers together with premium materials, packaging and unquestionable style. "We saw an opportunity in the current marketplace to bring the Ferrari Golf Collection to life," commented Bob Philion, President of Cobra Puma Golf. "It's a high end collection the golf industry has never seen before; bringing together the best of Cobra Puma Golf enriched with the expertise of Ferrari in a superior product offering of equipment, apparel, accessories and footwear. We are thrilled to be working with Ferrari SpA on this long-term collection to bring a new, premium golf product line up to consumers." The culmination of the Ferrari Golf Collection lies in the Cobra Ferrari Driver, a true work of art designed and developed by Cobra Puma Golf equipment engineers with Ferrari SpA aerodynamics engineers. The result is a super premium, aerodynamic, multi-material design that delivers fast club head speed and exceptional distance. After studying the Cobra ZL Encore Driver, Ferrari aerodynamics engineers suggested shape changes that would reduce drag coefficient, making the club swing easily through the air and resulting in more club head speed. These changes included new radii along the face perimeter, smoothing of the bottom sole surfaces and raising the trailing edge of the driver higher off the ground (to delay separation). These new designs along with multi-material construction reduce drag, increase club head speed and maximize distance. The attention to detail, performance and style did not end with the driver. The Ferrari Golf Collection apparel, footwear and accessories fuse form, function and fashion in a collection of impeccable design. The accessory range features premium visors, belts, gloves, umbrellas and bags. A selection of the accessories, such as the Ferrari Golf Luxury Bag and Ferrari Golf Luxury Duffel, are crafted in Poltrana Frau Leather, the same leather used in Ferrari GT Cars. For this season, the Ferrari Golf Collection apparel features polos, knits, jackets and pants. The Ferrari Golf Tech Polo uses state of the art fabrics and technology such as Coolmax All Season, UPF 50+ and moisture wicking for a shirt that keeps you comfortable and stylish in any weather. The Ferrari On Course Jacket has a striking style with contrast red stitching on black fabric, this design was based off of the interior of a Ferrari car. The jacket is also breathable, wind resistant and water resistant for extreme comfort throughout course of play. The Ferrari Golf Leather Shoe is handcrafted in Italy with genuine full grain leather upper and sole. Available in white or black, the shoe is the epitome of fashion and technology. Utilizing Puma's S2Quill technology, the shoe provides superior traction, stability and support while on course. The delicate stitching in the shoe is designed after the interior of a Ferrari car and the sleek silhouette is an understated, luxury look that will have heads turning all over the golf course. The collection can be found in select golf retailers, select Ferrari Stores and select high end retailers starting in July, 2012. Photo credit: Motor Authority

  17. Kallang Roars?? (for those who still remember it) Or noises made by female tennis players? Or the ear-shattering/piercing F1 engine/exhaust sounds? F16 fly pass noice? (doing air-show, considered as a sports) Pom-Pom girls dacing music/drum beats? For me, the engine-braking, exhaust noise of "over-run", hard-accelerations of F1, or even the noises made by this weekend's Super GT's GTRs, Ferraris, Z4, etc are really "addictive" -----> first from far i could hear the high speed engine sounds approaching as i stood about 400m before the 180deg turn at the end of the long striaght.... the sounds started like thunders from a distance, then they got louder, and louder..... and when the cars zoomed pass me, it sounded like a the sound made by jet fighted shooting pass, then they started to down shift and engine brake, this was when the "farting" (or some called it backfire) sounds came, a bit like fire crackers but 1000 times louder!! and my heart could feel the "vibrations" in the air caused by the loud "farts".... then some cars locked the tyres and smoke came out.... some cars gave up metalic sounds (maybe from the brakes which screeched). All so loud and 'brutal" as if the engine is going to explode or break apart!!...... but the merc mclarens and porsches sounded very tame, almost ghost like "silence"... the ford GTs (in the support race) were thundering LOUD when they accelerated out of the corners!! .... Ferraris, Lambo, GTR, Toyota, etc all had their own unique loud accelerate-FARTS!!! ..... the grand stand actually shook bros who heard the F1 sounds on track will know about it..... the engine brake sounds are the one i like most!!! they do sound like someone is trying to demolish the stadium/grandstand, with LOUD bangs aka FARTS!!
  18. Saw this at a PI. Looks quite delicious. However, not too familiar wif merc and PI SE oso can't realli explain properly what's the diff between the Avantgarde & this except 'err...got bodykit n 18"rim lor'. 22. suppose i walked out today to buy a 'sports' car that is not ridiculous (ferrari/lambo/ > 6L engine) the only japanese or korean sports car i can buy are - honda civic type r - mazda rx8 - nissan fairlady - nissan gtr if being strict, a true sports car should be RWD/AWD. thus only mazda and nissan have sports cars the contis seem to have a much longer list - VW jetta sports - VW golf - VW scirocco - bmw (everything they have) - mini coupe seems like a mass departure from the japanese of old, with the nsx, prelude, celica and others any other japanese car that i'm missing?
  23. Saw this at a showroom, look see look see oni. Looks impressive. 120bhp 2.9L turbo diesel enigine (Mercedes), 2WD manual version going for $60k (commercial COE).... any bro own one or went for test drive? Good alternative for the matrix?
