  1. Hi folks, Discovered this forum and hopefully someone can help. My car has been experiencing a loose steering in the last month. Making a turn doesn't see the steering returning to it's original position. Notice too i can turn the wheel like 30 degrees on a while travelling straight without any travel deviation. I've had it checked by several mechanics and there appears nothing wrong with the following: 1) Wheel Alignment 2) Wheel Balance 3) Steering Rack 4) Tie rods, shafts and steering wheel couplers. 5) Tyres pressure 6) Suspension joints. What else could be wrong? Pt. 6 wasn't really checked in detail as I witness, only the top joints were fiddled with sort of. How should the front suspension ball joints be checked?
  2. hey guys.....hate my stock steering wheel.....discovered tt it is the same one as the van one!!!!!! so pissed off.........want to change but apart from MOMO and other chiong types, like nt many options leh......i was tinking, whether stock steering wheels of other makes can fit into mine(YRV)....i kinda like those euro cars' 4 spoke steering wheels, sporty n classy......any brudders got a clue on compatiility??tks!!!!!
  3. Hi Bros, Strange thing happened to my car after I changed to a new set of tyres. My steering wheel is now off centre . Very strange leh, this is the 1st time something like that happened to me. I feel that the wheel alignment should still be ok cos when travelling on level ground, me let go hands and the car could still go very straight. Handling of the car still feels same as before. Can anyone shed some light? Many thanks in advance!
  4. My power steering fluid is at the lower mark ... it looked dark brown in color ... Heard I can use DOT3 brake fluid as power steering fluid ? However, the DOT3 brake fluid is bright clear yellow ... can I just pour in like that ? Please advise. Thanks
  5. Are there any damage done if the steering wheel is turned to the extreme with force? :( It happened to me quite a number of times and my heart aches. Keep reminding myself to be more gentle when turning the steering but sometimes it just happens :(
  6. Due to my height (1.8m), i need to push my seat back and as a result the steering is abit far from me. Is there any spacer in the market that can be use with the stock steering wheel (with airbag) to push it nearer to me? Thanks.
  7. Noticed the steering wheel vibrates when i apply on the brakes to come to a stop. It normally happens at the point when the car is coming to stop. Can this be due to warped brake discs or the wobbling of the wheels? Or uneven wear of the brake pads? Thanks.
  8. Find that the steering wheel becomes very light (something like no feedback) when travelling at 100km/h. What can be done to improve on this? Me driving a AE111 (M) with aspec db and sports rims, hope this info helps.
  9. You need to find out where the leak is. Common leak points are: the steering rack, check around the rubber boots on both side. Check where the lines connect into the rack, and the line that screws into the power steering pump, sometimes the green "O" ring on that connector could be pinched.
