  1. saw the below from Subaru club .. help to post .. hope he get back his car soon .. http://www.subaruclubsg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7854 Origin -> Here =============================================== Out of 3 cars my father owns, 1 is missing. 1) Honda City (from his job) 2) Hyundai Avante (shared among the family) 3) Toyota Corona CD 1.6 Manual (a car he bought for me to use) Thing is, he lent the Toyota Corona CD 1.6 Manual to this guy supposedly called 'Mark Khoo' (HP No: 92325849) He promised to pay the road tax, petrol and all that stuff. Thing is, I only found out from my mother that my father did not take down his IC number when he lent the car to him to use. Now it's been 3 months since we ever heard from this 'Mark Khoo'. Letters of summons and fines keep coming into my letterbox (Mark Khoo, damn you!) My father tried to call him many times using his handphone number but he did not pick up. My father then called his father but his father did not want to co-operate and said he doesn't know of his son's whereabouts. My father drove with my mom to the places where he usually parks his car (from the summons) but they could not find the car. We are worried that he might bring it in to Malaysia. My father has already made a police report about this and I'm begging you guys to help me. Mods, please help me by making this a sticky. Please look out for a Toyota Corona CD 1.6 Manual. Details of the car are as follows: Plate number: SBR5615A Colour: Maroon (some of you might think it's red) Car scheme: Normal plate. Please spread this to all your family, friends and colleagues and keep a look out for this car. If you spot the car, call the Police immediately or you can contact my father at 91465469. If you wish to contact me, please PM me and I will give you my number as I don't feel good posting my number online. Hope you guys understand. Thank you so much.

  4. As ridiculous as it sounds, it's true. Got the IS250 recently. After the 1000km servicing, the gear lever suddenly felt very stiff when sliding along the slot. So I brought it back to Borneo Motors a few days later. The mechanic immediately spotted that the gear knob wasn't the original IS250 one. It was of the wrong size, hence the stiffness in shifting. In fact, he initially implied that I bought an aftermarket knob and fixed it. I protested. It had been swopped during the 1000km servicing!!!!!! Screw the thief. Comparing the fake knob with the original on another IS250 parked there, I'm positive that I had the real thing up to the servicing. Anyway, they said they'll order a new one from Japan but it'll take quite a few weeks. They even said they'll review the workshop camera footage and conduct an internal investigation. How could Borneo Motors let something like that happen? I'm furious.

  6. Would like to start a thread - whats cars are least likely to get stolen in JB? Chery QQ Mazda RX-8 (super drinker)
  7. My brother's 3 months old Toyota Wish was stolen in JB last Saturday. The car was installed with immobilizer and foot break lock + steering lock. It was parked in his friends home with a locked gate. The car was missing the next morning when he woke up. How they manage to take the car away? There is no alarm siren heard and the car is not suppose to move without the immobilizer key in the car. If the immobilizer and the additional locks can not ensure the car safety, what other measure can an owner take to keep their car from thief?
  8. Went up to KL and discovered my car attenna got stolen. Does anyone know how much it cost and where to buy it? Would appreciate your help here. At least the car didnt disappear... The Wish fuel consumption is amazing. 15km/l on highway with some city driving.
  9. I just came back from Msia and was browsing through Autoworld.com.my especially the Vehicle Security Sub-sections. I have came to a early conclusion on why SGP cars are easily stolen in MY. 1. Most are "hot" cars eg Toyota, Honda etc... Most pop cars now are Harrier/RX300 and Wish 2. Most of us don't bother investing in any form of car security except for the standard alarm system that came with the car. There is lively discussions on lost cars over there and Security Measures to be taken eg Disklok, Locktech, Tilt-sensor, GPS tracking, Immobiliser etc etc... 3. We like to park butt-in. 4. Our cars are new, shiny with the latest ICE systems. Any other? Pls share
  10. Anyone read Sunday's New Paper? Seems like there's a wipespread of thefts against Motorbikes. Thieves are stealing BRAKE CALIPERS from Italian branded bikes. Man... this sounds so dangerous. Just wondering will this happen to cars soon.
  11. Dear All Car Owners, For those that travel to JB this weekend, pls be extra careful in locking and parking your car. I am 1 of those that get my car stolen in JB May last year. And i had received some queries from S'porean that get their cars stolen in JB recently too. Do take extra pre-caution when you visit Malaysia, especially JB. Happy Vesak Day. Cheers, Antz.

Parked at single lot on deck 3B this time at my estate's carpark (those of u who know me...will know where) Tire caps stolen again... was using cheapo ones that cost $3.50 and yet still stolen again... yes... all 4 of them... for the 4th time running... in 6 months? ... What is with these people? I wonder if my car is being targeted or something by some low life idiot who simply cannot afford his own tyre caps. 17. Fellow Forumers, Saw this and I could not believe it !!!!!! Poor guy.... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>. Hi guys, I've had my OZ Superleggera 16" stolen right off my car yesterday (7 Mar) at my HDB carpark. When I found my car, it was resting on all 4 brake discs!! For those of you with branded rims, be very careful where you park your car. Also be wary of anyone trying to offer you used OZ superleggs. Please keep a look out for me as my rims were fiat/alfa specific (cannot fit any other make) and togethe we can catch the bxxxxxds!! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<
