  1. http://www.worldcarfans.com/112010539473/d...percar-revealed DC Design from has revealed first sight of their supercar in New Delhi following a teaser image from a few days ago. Called the Avanti, which is a reference to the Studbaker Avanti from Tintin comics, the Indian supercar will initially be available with a Ford 4-cylinder turbo engine producing 265 hp (268 PS / 197 kW), and then followed by a Honda V6 making 400 hp (298 kW / 406 PS) - modest figures indeed for a supercar. Not helping matters either is a unacceptable supercar sprint time to 100km/h in less than seven seconds. All this in an Aventador matching 3,440 lbs (1,560 kg) vehicle with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. Manufactured at DC Design's Talegaon plant in Pune, the body is made of aluminium while the body panels are made of fiberglass (GRP). Engines will be prepared in the UK and then shipped to India. Despite our initial supercar skepticism, we're reminded that the Avanti is intended to be an affordable supercar priced at 30 lakh rupees ($56,277 /
  2. Interesting News - But I really really hope Singapore doesn't get the nod --- Prior to seeing this article, I was arguing elsewhere that any Singapore bid is "a joke" SNIP Read more at http://www.espnscrum.com/super-rugby-2014/rugby/story/232253.html#8p0fwohw2Ckxf2l6.99 Jones, a forthright thinker of all facets of rugby, said that "any smart organisation should see the value of promoting Japan as an expansion team in Super 18". He noted that a Singapore-based team would play in a spectacular new stadium but said that every player "would be an import" because "Japan recently beat Sri Lanka 132-10 and Singapore are ranked 10 spots lower than [sri Lanka] at No.58 in the world". 4. Is China trying to muscle its capabilities in mega projects ? .... Yahoo news: China to Build High-Speed Railway Line from Beijing to US? China is considering building a 13,000km high-speed railway line that would run from Beijing to east coast US, according to official Chinese media. The line, creatively dubbed the China-Russia-Canada-America line, would begin in Beijing, travel north through Siberia, and under the Bering Strait to Alaska before heading south through Canada to reach its final - unspecified - destination in the United States, said the Beijing Times. The journey would take two days to complete if the train maintains its proposed average speed of 350km/h. Although talks are said to be in progress, it is not clear how the countries en route feel. Wang Meng-shu, a railway expert with the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said there had been positive feedback. "We're already in discussions. Russia has already been thinking about this for many years," he said. According to China Daily, work has begun with the tunnel technology "already in place". The technology is already being used to build a high-speed railway between Fujian, on China's southeast coast, and Taiwan. The line would be 3,000km longer than the current largest railway line, the Trans-Siberian Railway, and 200km would be beneath the water in the Bering Strait between Russia and Alaska – four times longer than the submerged section of the Eurotunnel. "The project will be funded and constructed by China," the report added. "The details of this project are yet to be finalised." The Beijing Times has said the China-US line is just one of four proposals for huge cross-border railway projects. One is a line from the southwest city of Kunming to Singapore, another runs from China's Urumqi Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey to Germany. 5. When down to DIY shop to purchased Instant Super Glue and there are so many brands on the shelve. Took one set (a set containing 2 tubes) and paid for it. Upon returning home to use one for repairing my toilet shower room sliding door, to my surprised, that 2 inches (50mm) tube of super glue contain only about 6mm of glue ....... Was squeezing the tube and as I squeezed slowly, nothing came out for the first half of the tube. As such, I proceed further until more than 4/5 of the tube, then only some glue came out. WTF .... one nice looking tube of 50mm & squeezing unitl the last 6mm then only the glue appears and not enough for the job and had to open the other tube which also contain the same amount....... Real piss off ..........

  8. Just crazy really. Shows that ostentatious displays of wealth may not really be what they seem. But before this turns into a cycling bashing thread, note no arrests were made so we don't know who is at fault. Islington police seized a McLaren MP4 valued at a £170,000 on Thursday, November 14 after it was involved in a collision with a cyclist. The cyclist, a 41-year-old man, was taken to a north London hospital with minor injuries. The vehicle was seized by police as the driver, a 63-year-old man, did not have the appropriate insurance. The incident happened just before midday in Old Srtreet at the junction with Mallow Street. There were no arrests. If the driver decides he doesn’t want his car back, it may be auctioned off. Earlier this year, a Lamborghini Aventador valued at £300,000 was confiscated in Newham, east London after police found the driver had insufficient insurance. The driver failed to come forward after police confiscated the car and it was sold for £218,000. The money was put into frontline policing.
  9. It is an expected move from Volkswagen - a more potent, all-wheel drive variant to top the Golf range. But now it has got almost 300bhp from the redeveloped 2.0-litre lump taken off its GTI stablemate. Is this VW's hottest hot hatch yet? 2.0-litre. Four cylinders. 296bhp. 380Nm. 5.3 seconds. These are the figures from the latest Golf R. In comparison, the Mk7 GTI has 220bhp and 350Nm of torque. That is almost 80 more horses in a similarly-sized hatchback. While the weight of the new R is not disclosed yet, we expect the Haldex four-wheel drive system to put a toll on the R at the scales. Then, the fifth generation of the AWD system promises up to 100 percent torque transfer to the rear axle - all done in fraction of a second via the Haldex coupling with help of an electro-hydraulic pump. Some cool tech there. To us, the previous gen Golf R was mind-blowing enough with 256bhp and 330Nm of torque. But then, we bet it was only right for VW to increase the power figures as it is the natural way to showcase its progress - as with any car manufacturer. Then, we would gladly have the twin-centre pipes (which we thought was the iconic symbolisation of the R) over the quad pipes, any day, anytime. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this wouldn't be a mere figure-boasting exercise.
  10. http://dai.ly/x12sed6 The all new NSX is and will be one of the most awaited supercars when it hits the showrooms - scheduled for release in 2015. And it seems that works is well underway, with the prototype caught undergoing testing at a track in Ohio, U.S.A. The NSX has no doubt achieved a tall status, worthy to be one of the all-time-greats. The halo car from Honda is one of the first proper supercars from Japan that packs the performance and dynamics to rival the bigger counterparts from the Europeans. The new version will no doubt have a tall hat to fill. To help it in its course, Honda (and its American arm Acura) will equip it with a myriad of cutting edge technologies. For instance, the new car will be 'hybridised', with two motors up front driving each of the wheels - which effectively grants it all-wheel traction. The electric motors will also supply positive or negative torque (or drag, as we know) to deliver a more dynamic driving experience than the current AWD systems. How cool is that? From the looks of it, the new car definitely has got what it takes to turn eyes - the supercar way. This, especially after being starred in one of the very cool Ironman sequential - fans of the movie will be typically fond of it. Not to mention the aural appeal - that is if there isn't any alterations done to the soundtrack (as in the video). Words from the higher management of the marque seem to point towards that of a possible Right-Hand Drive variant at some point of time. As much as we know we couldn't afford one when it touches down here in Singapore, we'd still love to see it. And that is only because we like to see all-time-greats being revived, and continuing their legend - if it does at all.

  13. Can anyone explain why a Ferrari spins that easily with wide tyres ? My guess are : 1) Engine Horse Power against car Weight is poorly unbalance ? 2) Front Wheel Drive over-powerful against precise steering control ? 3) Poor Driving Skill of this Super Sport Car ?

  18. Wasn't rude to me but still I wanna bring it up. At cross junction at Ubi road 2 and Ubi Ave 4, there is a left turn green arrow towards the driving center. The junction is always full of cars towards Ubi Ave 3 on both lanes, so when even when there is left green arrow, cars won't be able to turn as it's block by cars wanting to go straight, this bugger was being block by a taxi going straight, keep on horning his way and comes all the hand signal. You think rich is everything? Got money means you have the right of way? That taxi even bother to move forward to let you pass when he can don't bother and you don't even wave a thank you to him, shame on you a-----e!
