  1. Hi bros..........Looking at clearing the stock Superb 18inch Thermisto Rims.... Slight kerb which has been polished on 2 Rims....and Slight rash on 1.... Still in good condition......Looking at $250 for all the 4.... If interested pls PM.....
  2. Dear bros, Can this fit Superb 07? http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Passat...e/Turbo/ES3365/ thanks in advance.
  3. Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma
  4. An update for the bros here as my ride hits 190,000km Major parts has to be changed as they are worn. cost me $1300 The list is super long almost like over haul. But after the change, the ride feels like new and engine is quiet again, silent huff and grunt to push the car off. The spinning of the turbo never sounded sweeter.....feels like a new ride and am happy with it. The rubber seals around the doors might be giving as wind noise seems more evident. Plastics in the car is still ok, because I do keep the dashboard cleaned and wiped and add some dashboard cream over it to protect it from the harmful rays of the sun. The handles are peeling and will probably have to go do something about that, but don't want to spend money on it. But most importantly is the engine, its purring and I am happy. Anyways as I am on Stage 2 with 195 hp to boot, I am happy of course. Happy 5 years old Skoda Superb, you have served us well.
  5. as above .. anyone owns it ?? comments , please

  11. I was doing the test drive rounds today, looking for a MODERATELY priced sedan to replace the wife's ride as the family mover for 3 adults 2 children. It looks like the best fit is either the C5 or the Superb Needs to satisfy the wife's criteria of: Non-MPV; non-hatchback; DVD player; comfort; overtaking oomph; GPS built-in preferred; I am familiar with Volvos and BMWs, but not looking to spend that much on the 2nd car. Having settled on the $100-110 as the price I want to pay, I have test driven the following so far. Includes a couple of stand-outs from that budget range as I wanted to be sure of what I'm missing - Toyota Prius - Skoda Superb - Citroen C5 - Subaru Legacy - MB B200 Turbo - MB C200K Some brief test drive notes. Any comments welcome - Toyota Prius 106K Pros -Huge fuel savings, esp with 70% city driving for the wife -Modern design/fancy electronic dashboard -'green' catchet - steady driving, smooth acceleration/deceleration - plenty of available stock (anyone else read the bad press? 8) ) Cons - lightweight, hybrid-friendly fabric replaced with 'local leather' - cheap interior - a little heavy - soft handling - tight rear seats, though plenty of legroom - MY09 cars. Any comment on buying MY09 car this late in the year? - Skoda Superb 116K Pros - lots of kit for the money - everything VAG has to offer - great looking interior - not sure about how long-lasting it is - 5 star NCAP - great acceleration and handling from 1.8T 7DSG Cons - Skoda - lots of poor reviews internationally on the web, though maybe not this version. Top Gear's review is hilarious - MY09 in stock - which might explain the low price. Any comment on buying MY09 car this late in the year? - local leather - reliability and servicing frequency? anyone care to comment? - 'normal' incentive of 3 free servicing and price level made conditional upon in-house insurance and minimum 50K/7 year financing. - not sure how bad depreciation could be after 3-5 years.. - Citroen C5 110K Pros - lots of kit for the money, interior a match for the Skoda - entirely imported internals - a MUCH smoother ride, the best I've taken. great for sleeping children in the back - Euro NCAP 5 star - Citroen's buy-back guarantee, which caps max depreciation at 50% after 3 years... Cons - weak acceleration, a far cry from the Skoda - steering not as sharp as it could be - reliability and servicing frequency? anyone care to comment? - 3 yr, 60K warranty - probably the worst terms among all the makes - Subaru Legacy 2.0 CVT 97K Pros - Cheapest of the cars tested - sharp handling - internal kit does not match the Skoda/Citroen, but not as 'ah pek' as the Camry Cons - acceleration could be better, but there's always the 2.5GT - wife doesn't like the Subaru radio ads and the image they project - MB B200 Turbo $139K Pros - the badge, albeit the almost the lowest end model (yeah yeah almost as bad as a badge whore). There's always the B170 at $118K.... - engine has enough oomph - lots of space for the money - both headroom and legroom are amazing for the size of the car - Euro NCAP 5 star - reputation for safety/reliability - 5K overtrade Cons - wobbly at speed and around curves - kit is worst of all the cars I've tested, barring maybe the low-spec Legacy 2.0 - MB C200K $159K Pros - Much better package than the B200, at $20K more - much sharper acceleration and handling than the B200 - 5K overtrade Cons - price - price - price

  13. The VW Group's new 1.6 TDI turbo diesel is making its way to the options list of the European market Skoda Superb saloon and Estate models, where it will replace the 1.9 TDI. While the smaller displacement 1.6-liter four-cylinder diesel unit produces the same output figures as the 1.9 TDI with 105-horsepower and 250Nm of torque, it promises to offer improved diesel mileage and lower CO2 emissions. More specifically, the combined fuel consumption has been improved to 6.2lt/100km for the saloon and 6.3lt/100km for the Estate, while emissions have been reduced by 19g/km and 20g/km respectively. I have not heard of the new 1.6 TDI powering any VW models yet but its application on the Golf and Jetta would be welcomed.

  15. My Superb <Not current model> gear knob is loose and wanna change a new one. However i call local Skoda deal or XZ <stockist> with the chassis number , it was the round type. Mine was the walnut squarish type. I think its from the Superb elegant model, Does anyone know the part number of the walnut gear knob? Anyone can provide where i can buy the gear knob other than these 2 places, the price quoted was > 200$ for the normal round head gear knob. I think i saw a thread regarding the loose gear knob button before but now cant find the old thread again. Apprecaite I can get from advise from here. Thank You. BN
  16. Dear all, In case any of you take fancy in the following unit (SJT5xxxT), avoid it at all costs. http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.ph...305&DL=1359 Did a preliminary check on behalf of a friend who has expressed interest getting it. Here are the findings: 1. Vehicle was involved in frontal collision: - front right fender was resprayed and the quality of the refinishing is nothing to shout about. Striations of paint lacquer are very evident. The alignment of the repaired fender and the bonnet is not consistent. - Left headlamp shows signs of aging. Right headlamp is newer. - Right lower front grille cover is missing 2. "Check engine light" is permanently indicated. Additional cost required to replace the aging parts that contribute to this problem. 3. Rear boot lid struts are worn. Extremely stiff to open and close the boot. The boot lock is not functioning. The annual depreciation of approximately 4k/yr is attractive. The condition of the car is worrying.
  17. China's Skoda Superb II - Made in China. Commercials in China are very well done. http://v.youku.com/v_show/id_XMTExOTA2ODY0.html
  18. Just want to share with the bros here about the Superb's gear shift. Recently my gear shift had some issues and it was detected that the contact release button to the clutch was snapped under the silver button, this caused my gear not to be able to be shifted to drive mode after it was at park mode, it was later rectified at Skoda dealership as it was covered under warranty. As I spoke to the technician he suggested the following proper technique in shifting gears. In the two pictures I posted, shows the correct way to depress the clutch release(chrome shiny button) with your thumb spread evenly over the entire contract surface of the release button and depress it at an even pressure. This will ensure the connector switch in to contact properly as you shift the gear from park mode to drive/neutral/1/2 gear. The second picture shows the incorrect way of depress the clutch release. In this wrong prosture illustration, unknowingly you the one-sided pressure contact point over time will force the contact point under the switch to be angled and thus cause it to snap within the switch, this is probably due to wear and tear, through in proper contact, but it is covered under warranty during the warrany months. I would encourage the bros/sis to use the proper technique to extend the lifespan of your gear shift and enjoy your ride.
  19. Per above question.
  20. As well... The Flying Dutchman. Maybe can get him to come join us for meetup as well.
  21. All 3 cars are selling at around the 125K range, which will you go for ? I think Opel Insignia will be priced out. ( worst since they are not bringing in the sports tourer, which I think looks much better than the sedan) I saw the car, it's good but I dont think good enough as it's priced at 128K.. For practicality, I will go for the Superb 2 estate... For the wow factor, I will go for the passat cc 5 seater. The only thing against the passat cc 5 seater is the fact I would prefer a car more suitable for a family with 2 young child. I think it's still possible, but of course a large sedan or estate version should be better. Also, the passat has omv of around 29K, and the SE told me the cc will be marked up by ~ 5k compared with the 4 seater version. Too much profit margin for them!! and we already know in Europe the difference bet the 5 and 4 seater version is only 100 Euro !! But the passat cc really looks I think the superb 2 estate ( coming in this month ) will be the best value for money. Good spec, practical and looks not too bad but of course the opel insignia sports tourer will win hands down on the look department. So, which will you guys go for?
  22. Hi everyone, any comments? Worth to buy? Suitable for what age? owners please response, interested in this car. Thanks
