  1. Have you ever wonder why are the town council allow to have such huge reserves such that they can invest in these failed bonds? Wouldn't it be prudent to put them in fixed deposit. Now I just hope that there will not be an increase in conservancy and hopefully the relevant town council will stand up and answer to us. The best thing that came out of this financial crisis is that we now know how much money the Town council are holding. Who's next???
  2. Hi All, Just found this new street directory website. Hope it is useful for you all. Personally, I find it better than the 'gahmen' one. http://www.streetdb.com/

  8. http://www.sgcarmart.com/main/info-2EobcY8y-1280.html Just notice the so claim "The Only 1 In Town" Honda Civic Type R is already on sale in the 2nd hand market!? The owner registered her in Jul 2007 and only less the half a year is already letting her go? Either the ex-owner is too rich or out of sudden can't afford the ride liao... Anyway, just yesterday I thought I saw a white Type R (just like the one below) too...with super-duper large white wheels too and very nice bodykit....so it's either the seller made a mistake or I saw the wrong car.
  9. Just heard loud explosions outside my window at 2220hrs. Too bad was block by trees... Saw thick dark smoke rising... Anyone know about this accident?
  10. ROME (Reuters) - A rooster crowing at the break of dawn has earned his owner a 200 euro ($295) fine in an Italian court after neighbors complained it was waking them up too early. ANSA news agency reported on Wednesday that the rooster's owner in Bolzano province would appeal the sentence, supported by the local Farmers' Association, on the grounds that he needs at least one rooster to breed chickens.
  11. Just saw on the news that a driver was found burnt in the vehicle, wonder what could have caused that?
  12. Are Town Councils really investing in stocks? Can someone who has a Creative annual report verify this? I hope this is not some cannot-clear-CFA-stage 3 fund mgr wannabe action that went unnoticed by audit inspections. http://www.mrbiao.com/blog/town-councils-i...ock-market.html
  13. Hi guys, I'm planning to settle down in Sengkang because the town looks refreshing, consist of mainly new couples, nice buildings, etc. Notice that there are actually 4 neighbourhoods, Rivervale, Compassvale, Anchorvale and Fernvale. Which one better? In terms of location? amenities? Any wet market? wife loves to cook... Accessibility? I'll be driving... Any comments??? BTW what is the standard cash over valuation for a 4-room HDB at Sengkang now ah?
  14. Hehe just wondering if such a person/service exist? Generally most stickers/decal design we see on cars are following templates from a catalog (which renders your car design non-unique) and/or pasting brands of car marques and motorsports products. Say the customer provides the necessary stuffs like company logo, colors, slogans etc, is there such a designer who would analyse and come up with a complete, unique and aesthetically-pleasing design of the car's stickers/decals based on a certain concept, theme, the car model and base colour - to be discussed and signed-off by the customer before implementation. Basically like the engagement process with a high-end web/graphics designer. I'm not talking about those 'customized' company design which makes the car look like some delivery van. If there's such a person/shop, I know is subjective but can the forummers here recommend some famous ones with a good portfolio of works?

  19. Hi all, Wondering if this is an old topic, but I will like to share my gd experience of car wash along Upper Thomson Shell Manual Car wash. Priced at S$6, the manual car wash was really worth the money.. 2 person wash up your car thru a sheltered drive-thru.. Car is properly wet, shampooed with foam bath, manually cleaned and rinse with water, then jet-sprayed. Another waiting at the end of the shelter thoroughly dry your car with the towel and carefully go thru all the doors, openning all, including the boot, clean up the water and then to the rims...cleaning every single spoke...took entire 20 mins to wash one car... I had earlier gone to the Caltex beside it for the S$2 dollar washing, but found it really terrible...basically, its just a cold shower for the car to remove dust....even bird sxxt stains still stays after the wash....end up I still got to clean up....no point.... Any other contributions from fellow forumers??
  20. err...how to post pic huh?

  22. IF you own an oil well or two or are a financial Master of the Universe on Shenton Way, you are likely to be keeping an eye out for this vehicle from General Motors. The smallest sibling of the Hummer line whose lineage goes back to the war veteran Humvee, the H3 uses a 3.4-litre five-cylinder engine pushing 220 hp. It delivers just one third the gas mileage of the Prius. But then, the Toyota hybrid won't get you places the H3 can. Equipped with four-wheel drive and sitting on 33-inch wheels, the brawny sports utility vehicle can slice through 40cm-high water and clamber up 40-degree inclines with ease. Quite a few macho drivers in their Landcruiser Prados, Mitsubishi Pajeros and Land Rover Discoveries will head straight for the showroom the minute it makes its appearance here, possibly via parallel importers next year. Just like what the 1 series does with the BMW marque, the H3 finally brings the Hummer line within reach of buyers of mid-size SUVs here. But if what I see of these category of vehicles holds true, expect the person behind the H3 steering wheel to be a woman. http://motoring.asiaone.com.sg/articles/O_20041228_001.html
