  1. You've probably seen the video of the Toyota C-HR that almost hit an innocent father and son duo. If you haven't, here you go What do you think? 1) Negligence 2) Inexperience 3) or.....
  2. Hi all toyota wish owners, I just bought a '10 wish n would like to seek some assistance. 1) are there any dedicated forums for wish? 2) my stock wish comes with a 15"rims. Wondering what's the difference in fc if I change to a 17" rims? Is it advisable or I shld keep it stock? 3) are there any mods to enhance the asthetics of the car? Thks
  3. TL;DR – A parked C-HR with p-plates suddenly accelerates and almost mauls a father and son at an open-air carpark. Things would have gotten ugly if they had been one second slower. There can be miracles While some of us might not be believers, a recent video uploaded on Roads.sg might change your mind. The incident occurred on 10th September 2021. Here’s the 35-second video: A one-second difference between life and death In an open-air carpark, location unknown, a father and his son casually walk past a cam car. If you observe the video, you’ll notice a black Toyota C-HR directly opposite the cam car slowly inching forward as the father and son enter the frame. The C-HR then suddenly accelerates and crashes into the cam car just as the lucky duo clears the danger. If it had been a second earlier, the father and son would have been caught in the collision. Let’s address the elephant in the room I’m sure everyone noticed the p-plates on the C-HR. Could it be because of the driver’s inexperience? Or it could have been a case of the driver talking on his phone? He was wearing his wireless earphones. And, if so, why wasn't his handbrake up? Online Chatter But, by 2040, no more manual car already. If everyone drives like this in 2040, scary eh! I’m just glad that by some miracle, a family did not lose a father and a son to a negligent driver. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 6. After exiting a tunnel with a right-hand bend, a black Toyota mysteriously starts skidding along the SLE towards the TPE expressway. From the footage, it appears that the Toyota driver had plans to filter towards the left. However, the driver suddenly steers right, which led to it having a 'Tokyo Drift' moment before crashing into the road barrier. What is a fishtail skid? A fishtail skid - or fishtailing - occurs when the rear tires of a car lose traction on the road, which causes the vehicle to slide. While fishtailing is common on icy and snowy roads, it can occur in heavy rain when the streets flood. Drivers who drive too fast in less than optimal road conditions can experience skidding easily, which is a cause for concern with the past few rainy days. Possible scenarios The caption of the video has no mention of the leading cause of the accident, but there are a few possible scenarios. Firstly, the driver could have been driving faster than usual as he entered the bend. Paired with the wet and slippery road conditions due to the recent rain, this could explain why he was unable to regain control of the vehicle as it skidded. Secondly, the car could have worn-out tires, which makes it difficult to get a good grip on the road's surface. This, paired with the slippery roads and a high-enough speed, would result in the vehicle being thrown off balance as it swerves to the right. Lastly, the driver could have got a shock when he saw the stationary white vehicle appear around the bend. Throughout the entire video, the white vehicle remains on the road shoulder at the exit of the tunnel, which was a little weird. However, after rewatching it a few times, I also noticed a stationary motorcycle a few metres behind the white vehicle inside the tunnel. Could these two vehicles be connected somehow? Netizens' reactions TBH, I can only attribute this incident as a result of unfortunate circumstances and bad timing. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 7. Book a Toyota now and walk away with $560 worth of petrol vouchers if you're fully vaccinated! 😆 https://www.sgcarmart.com/new_cars/newcars_adpage.php?Make=Toyota
  8. A 'chiong sua' driver tries his luck to run a red light and ends up t-boning another vehicle. The incident occurred yesterday (July 26) at a junction along Stamford Road. As the cam car stops at the junction, a silver Toyota Corolla Altis rushes past the vehicle on its left after failing to conform to the red light signal. While the driver managed to avoid hitting the two cyclists at the pedestrian crossing, it ends up T-boning a yellow Toyota C-HR. For those who are unfamiliar with the term, a T-bone accident occurs when the front of one vehicle strikes the side of another. Netizens' reactions TBH, while I have never encountered a 'kanchiong' driver before, I think what the Altis driver did was really stupid and reckless. He should have his license suspended for causing a major accident that could have been easily prevented. --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 10. A PHV Toyota Vellfire was caught on video bullying a Mazda 3 by intentionally blocking it and preventing it from changing lanes. This road-bullying incident occurred on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), which involved a PHV Toyota Vellfire and a Mazda 3. In the video, a Mazda 3 and a PHV Toyota Vellfire are travelling alongside each other on lanes 1 and 2, respectively. Moments after, the cam car driver flashes his high beam as an indication to the Mazda 3 driver to filter to lane 2. BUT HERE'S WHAT PUZZLES ME The PHV Toyota Vellfire driver went through many inconveniences just to REPEATEDLY block the Mazda 3 from filtering to lane 2. The Vellfire PHV driver performed PLENTY of brake checks and aggressive manoeuvres such as overtaking from the left. Just so the Vellfire driver could remain alongside the Mazda 3 after overtaking a motorcyclist from the left, I felt that he might have pushed the entire 179bhp out of his 2.5L engine. However, I suspect that these two drivers had a prior altercation before this entire incident. FACTS NGL, this is what happens when a driver that lacks in confidence (Mazda 3) meets a guai lan driver (Toyota Vellfire). Regardless of what may have happened earlier, this Toyota Vellfire is definitely an a**hole of a driver. Unpopular opinion: Camcar, you ain’t no saint either. Instead of whining and flashing your high beam at the Mazda 3, you could have backed off a little and given way to the Mazda 3, so he could filter to lane 2. Netizens' comments Let’s all practice being more gracious and courteous on the road. Don’t be like this CB Toyota Vellfire driver, okay? --- Thinking of selling your car? sgCarMart Quotz guarantees the highest selling price for your car. 11. The new TNGA-based sedan is bigger and more refined than before. UPDATE: Four videos added below. The first two require no Japanese language ability to understand, but the other two are predominantly in the language. After launching its absolute flagship for Japan, the Century, Toyota is now introducing the more mainstream Crown luxury sedan, which was previewed by a namesake concept last year. The automaker describes the 15th generation of the model as the first-generation connected car because it comes as standard equipped with a data communication module (DCM). Based on Toyota’s new TNGA platform, the vehicle has been tested on the Nurburgring and should deliver “outstanding handling,” “responsive driving performance,” and “exceptional vehicle stability” in a wide range of driving conditions. The new model is slightly longer than its predecessor, which was launched in 2012 - 193 inches (4,190 millimeters) versus 192 inches (4,885 mm), with a bit longer wheelbase, expanding the rear passenger legroom. The automaker is proud to announce it has modernized the entire cabin which now features higher quality materials and more space for the driver and passengers. The dashboard is dominated by a new dual-screen layout, which combines an eight-inch central screen and another seven-inch display for the climate and audio functions. Toyota also says the TNGA architecture brings significant improvements in terms of cabin quietness, which are achieved thanks to the optimized vehicle body frame structure and optimum arrangement of soundproofing materials. The underpinnings also allow for a lower installation of the engine, which provides a lower center of gravity. Speaking of the engine, Toyota will offer the new Crown with three different powertrains. The only non-hybrid option is a 2.0-liter turbo gas unit with 245 horsepower (180 kilowatts) and 258 pound-feet (350 Newton-meters) of torque. Two hybrid variants will be available, combining 2.5- and 3.5-liter gas engines respectively with an electric motor and nickel-metal hydride or lithium-ion battery. The smaller powertrain has a peak power of 226 hp (166 kW), while the more powerful one produces 359 hp (264 kW). Order books in Japan will be opened next month with Toyota planning to sell no less than 4,500 units monthly.
  12. Very interested in this 2021 Toyota Sienna 7 Seaters. Will Borneo Motor bring in this MPV ? Yahoo news : Toyota's 2021 Sienna hybrid proves minivans can be fun, not just practical There comes a time in your life when minivans just make sense. Usually, that's when you start to learn about the nuances of car seats, strollers and all of the other gear kids require. Then come the soccer matches and cacouphonous carpools. I won't waste time arguing for the practicality of minivans, because no matter how you frame it, they'll always be better for a typical family than an SUV or crossover. They have got more room for passengers and cargo alike, and they're just easier to access when you need to secure a screaming toddler. 14. Toyota Crown SUV Reportedly Planned Because Nothing Is Sacred Anymore source: https://www.motor1.com/news/454132/toyota-crown-suv-rumor/ One of Toyota's longest-running nameplates could be infected by the SUV plague. In production since 1955 and with a history of no fewer than 15 generations, the Crown is one of Toyota’s oldest nameplates still in production. It’s also widely regarded as the first Japanese car to be sold in North America, launching in the United States as the Toyopet Crown in 1958 or around the same time when Datsun arrived stateside. The current-generation model (codenamed S220) was launched in 2018 and recently went through a minor update bringing a larger infotainment system to unify the previously two individual displays. A worrying report from Japan claims the Crown could become an entirely new vehicle for what would be its sixteenth generation – an SUV. According to the Chunichi Shimbun newspaper, Toyota aims to keep the “Crown” name alive in the future, but switch from the long-running sedan body style to an SUV. The source should be quite credible taking into account the newspaper is mainly published in the Aichi Prefecture where Toyota has its headquarters. The transition from a sedan to an SUV is expected to take place as early as 2022 due to dwindling sedan sales. A year later, Chunichi Shimbun reports the high-riding Crown will allegedly arrive in the United States and China. The newspaper claims it would be based on the Highlander, meaning the TNGA-K platform used locally for the equivalent JDM-spec Kluger and also for the Harrier (Venza in the US), Wildlander (RAV4 / Suzuki Across), and other vehicles.

  19. Who says ninjas don't exist? This black Toyota Estima was the victim of a ruthless attack by a sneaky ninja who pounced on him while he was just trying to make a U-turn (rather poorly). BAM! you can see the ninja (van) went straight for the kill while the Estima stopped just inches away from the kerb. After the swift attack, the ninja (van) makes his (not so) quick getaway... not knowing that everything was recorded by a dash cam! This isn't feudal Japan, where are you going to run to? In all seriousness though, it is important to look where you are going when driving, especially so when making a U-turn. There's always a chance that the car in front hasn't completed the turn in one swift motion, they might even have to reverse, and you wouldn't want to be right behind them when they do! At least now we know why Ninjavan's deliveries are prompt, not even an accident can stop them! 🤣
  20. Any opinions on the 2.5 camry hybrid vs 2.5 mazda 6? both priced quite similarly....which is a better buy?
  21. Good morning everyone! Singapore may be small, but we are never short of exciting incidents. Let's take this battle between a Toyota Prius and a Toyota Dyna for example. Resembles a Beyblade* battle to be honest (minus the spinning). *Beyblade is a Japanese anime about spinning top toy battles If you watch the video, you'll notice that the Prius was not on the first lane initially because there were two large trucks obstructing traffic. The Prius obviously did not want to give way to the lorry and charged forward. A normal person would hit the brakes upon impact, but not this Prius. The lorry and the Prius continue scratching each other's paintwork for at least a good three to four seconds! What was the lorry doing though? Crazy driving by the Prius aside, the lorry, being a goods and commercial vehicle with a speed limit of 70km/hr should not be on the fast lane. So, what happens when it comes to insurance claims? Here's what some had to say: Here's the video
  22. A round of applause for this true motorcyclist vigilante. We need more of such road users in Singapore to bring bad drivers to justice. In a recent SGRV Facebook video post, a cyclist can be seen cycling along Bukit Timah Road sometime at night when out of nowhere, a white Toyota Hiace van knocks the cyclist down. Seeing this, the motorcyclist kicked his bike into action and chased the van down to block its path. After which, he even called in the Police. According to the screenshot of the Police report in the video, the van driver claimed that he noticed that he had hit something but 'did not saw anything'. Seeing how the van driver failed his breathalyser test that was conducted after the incident, its no wonder he didn't see anything. He was arrested on the spot by the Police. Here's the full video. Netizens singing praises for the motorcyclist (well most of them).
