  1. possible to check before go? coz bought 2nd hand car a few months back
  2. I have come across this blog documenting a pick-up driver committing handphone driving. The blogger has even videod the whole process as well as documenting the time and venue it occurred, acting like a TA. http://irresponsiblemotorists.blogspot.com...ne-driving.html I wonder if Singapore's Traffic Police would issue or has authority to issue summon based on the evidence presented by the blogger ???
  3. Hi bro, Would like to know the morning traffic condition (Jam or slow moving) on wkday along AYE from lower Delta to Tuas area. I will be starting my new job in Tuas (work starts at 830am) and just wondering what time i need to leave my place (I stay in Tiong Bahru)so as not to be late for work. Any bro using AYE in the morning peak hr can advise me???? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hi,,, to any of u guys here who had experienced the same situation as i am. Pls help. Received a SUMMON on my birthday in July. Got letter of fine in early August. Afterwhich i sent an appeal letter and they replied the acknowledgement to ignore the current fine payment in the mean time till they review my case (parked opposite single white line larh at Swensons Orchard behind - bloody hell no tickets on my windscreen somemore) Then i just received a letter today which is of exactly the same format as the 1st SUMMON letter i got before my appeal. Its just that the due date for payment is later. Does this mean that they declined my appeal or they overlooked my appeal and sent me the SUMMON letter again (just that this time, its of a different due date)? Do i have to call them and clarify or send appeal letter again? wah lau. i wrote appeal letter still kena this. how can??? My birthday leh i sent appeal letter dated on National day as i received it 2 days before it, also never give chance. sad siah...
  5. Just back from NSE and still got dozen of construction roadworks both way . Saw this cute Traffic Warden. From far at high speed looks like a real warden.
  6. What Do you really do to while away time during severe traffic jams? I read my papers or smoke a cig. Today at the infamous Macpherson Jam, got this lady (quite chio) in a white Aveo was digging her nose furiously. That spark me off to re-Start this topic. What do you guys do? http://kcarclubsg1975.spaces.live.com/
  7. Hi, Can anyone tell me how's the traffic condition like along PIE towards Changi from Adam until Eunos exit every weekday in the morning? When is the best time to travel along this stretch of PIE in the morning? before 8am or before 7:30am? Will be taking this route for work soon, just wondering how bad is the traffic condition and what time does traffic builds up. Appreciate any advise. Cheers Orac
  8. Anyone noticed? My journey to work today took only 1/2hr which includes dropping my wife and sis in-law off their workplace as well. Usually minimum is 1hr plus!
  9. Happens this morning before 7.40am just as I was on my way out for my morning swim, at the traffic junction just outside Blk830A MSCP, opposite my flat Blk838 Hougang Central. Was there to take the pics after my swim around 8.20am, looks like it's a young lady as her right sport shoes came off and she's wearing those half socks (covered up to the edge of the sport shoes) only able to eavesdrop from the reporters that the police do not know how to contact her parents, my guess she could be a student from China but I could be wrong. Very sad, this is the second accident around my area, another one happens on Wednesday morning near by also
  10. usually when most peps do a right turn at a junction... will wait for the opposite traffic to clear or green arrow to come out then turn ... but recently i've noticed that there are cars turning right or U-turning immediately when the green light comes on (no green arrow yet) and try beat the on coming traffic which usually jus move off.... jus tot that its pretty dangerous ... any bros feel that way? (or guilty of that ) used to see such manouvers done by those high CC bikes which can hit a 100 in like 3+ sec... nowadays ... always see taxi do that .... nvm... the other day ... saw a gung-ho female drive u-turning immediately when the lights turn green n there was a taxi in the opp dir ready to move off .... but the taxi wasnt accelerating hard ... another night was gliding to a halt at a red light at a T-junction... there was a stationary car in front of mine... then green light .... so i slowly tap acclerator... the car in front oso move off ... then the car infront suddenly jam... i oso jam... cos one stupid car frm the opp dir siao siao wanna turn right immediately when the lights changed green .. then tink dio shocked stuck in the yellow box stun a while... jus wondering ... say if you see red light in distance ... then u gliding towards the junction w/o pressing brakes or acclerator .... then suddenly lights turn green.. then u see the left lane clear and the right got car slowly moving off .. then naturally will signal left and acclerate past ... imagine wad if another kuku driver performs tt stun .... cos tt kuku didnt see yr car coming as the line of sight might be blocked by the slowly moving off car in yr right lane....
  11. experienced this very weired thing 1.5 month ago. the location is the junction of amk ave 8 and amk ave 9. just before yio chu kang mrt. i was travelling along amk ave 8 to city direction. when i was approaching the junction, the traffic light turned red. and yes there is red light camera there. so i stopped at the junction and wait. after waiting for about 1-2 minutes i believe, i saw the traffic light turned green. so i quickly moved off without thinking too much (why would i?). while i was passing the junction, suddenly i heard lots of cars horning to me from left. i looked around to left, to my horror, i saw cars from left road (amk ave 9) started moving and moving straightly to me. i almost got stuck in the middle of the junction but still managed to accelerate and pass the junction. at same time i looked ahead and found the traffic light was RED again! things were going really too fast and i think all happened in just couple of seconds. those drivers were giving me super black and unbelievable faces starring at me, as if i did something seriously wrong. after i calmed down, i was wondering maybe i saw the traffic light wrongly and striked the red light? jesus there is a red light camera there! never noticed whether it got flashed or not. but up to now it's 1.5 months passed, didnt receive any traffic offence notices. what the hell is going on?
  12. In another thread, I mention this will be coming. Guess its sooner than I thought. Good for 2 things. Catch reckless drivers. 2 If they can record, you might have a 'witness' for accidents.
  13. Then when no police ops I drive recklessly hor? I should be driving safely whether or not there is traffic police ops ya? Being safe is for myself, not because there's traffic police around ma... Anyway, after reading the sign, also no sign of traffic police down the highway. Not very true leh the sign. It could maybe read "Please Drive Safely At All Times"?
  14. Hi Guys, A bad habit of mine... I used to put my gear to neutral when i come to a stop at traffic light. When driving auto, I put my gear to "P" when I stop... does it cause any issue: pros and cons?
  15. 1. Assuming you stopped right infront of a traffic light and your car is the 1st in line. A TP or a Patrol car also stopped either behind you or next to you. 2. The moment the traffic turned green, you depressed your accelerator and sprint up to the road limit of 70Km/h, throwing the rest behind you. 3. Would you be booked for running fast even though you're within speed limit and there is no traffic infront of you and you are running straight and within the lane? Please comment. Thank you very much. Regards,
  16. Dear All, Has any of you encountered this before? When my car came to a stop in a traffic jam, after a few minute or so, the air-con became not cold and started blowing hot air if car was not moving. However, when car moves, it started to turn cold again. Could it be the air-con fan is not functioning properly when car come to a halt? Any advice or suggestion as to what to check?
  17. http://www.streetdirectory.com/asia_travel.../travel_site_1/ Kena fine at abv location. Parallel parking along Leong Huat building. Note the way out to Paya Lebar is one way. I parked my car facing that direction. Irving road is 2 way, Summon for agst traffic flow. Rule 12(1) Any chance for me to appeal agst the fine?
  18. well, it was this hot sunday afternoon and i saw a TP in uniform standing in the middle of the road divider trying to hide under the shade of the traffic light at the junction. He was looking around and keep on writing in his notepad... anyone know what's he doing there?... just seems very strange to have him standing there...
  19. Dear all, something horrible happened to me this morning at around 7.20am. I was driving along the left-most lane at CTE, with the lane leading me to the exit on the left at AMK Ave 3. All this while I saw this pickup in front of me on my right lane. (His lane can turn either to the left exit or go straight ahead) As there was still some distance away from the exit, somehow i ended up in front of him by his left. (I'm still at the left-most lane) Suddenly, he swerved in by the side of my rear, banged my car, smashed my 3rd window panel, n grazed all the way to my driver's side mirror. I was taken aback by the 1st impact of his pickup banging onto my right-side rear that i immediately slowed down n stopped. He was still driving ahead! I had to horn him to stop. What I didnt understand was, why did he bang onto me when I'm already at the left-most lane and didnt stop his vehicle despite the first contact? I cant help but wondered. I'm thankful that I'm still alive, coz the very fact that he grazed through my car was a horrible process. Thankful that I only suffered some soreness in my back and hips, and some minor pains, few hours after the incident. This is the only direct route to my workplace from CTE, and the driver of the pickup actually said it's me who cut into his lane, wanting to go to the right, which was quite ridiculous to me, as if i did what he said, I wld've missed my exit. After this incident, I really . You really cant prevent people from banging u. N i hope that he will not ever commit such deed ever again. Esp the rise of accidents and people who refused to reflect, such as what happened in "Man in month-long coma after traffic row dies" Worse still, nw thinking back, I find that the photo on his IC that he showed me didnt really match him in person. Any idea what I can do? Coz i suspected that he's those labor worker from China. I have also taken a photo of him with his pickup. Hope that fellow forummers, if you happen to be at the area of my accident at that time, and has seen it, please come forward to help me. Please spread this to your buddies who may have been witnesses to this accident too. Thank you very much!
  20. Happy Tailgating http://sg.news.yahoo.com/070511/5/singapore275425.html Friday May 11, 12:17 AM 14-vehicle pile-up along CTE causes heavy traffic jam SINGAPORE: Traffic along the CTE towards the AYE came to a standstill Thursday afternoon following a 14-vehicle pile-up. The incident happened near the Orchard Road exit - obstructing the centre and right lanes of the expressway. The 14-vehicle pile-up involved 11 cars, two vans, and a taxi. One of the van drivers was taken to Singapore General Hospital for injuries, while a passenger in a taxi was also treated at the Hospital for slight injuries. It is not known what caused the pile-up. In a separate incident, a van overturned at the junction of Commonwealth Avenue West and Clementi Road, after it collided with a car. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the National University Hospital. - CNA/yy
  21. OK we all know that they're clean and not corrupt, but as we're moving the stakes higher and positioning Singapore as a FIRST WORLD COUNTRY, do you think our Traffic Police are up for it ?
  22. Posting on behalf of bullfrog Hi bros, I'm was involved in an accident on Friday 22nd April 2007 at approximately 7.30am at the junction of CCK Ave 1 and CCK Way. I was making a right turn with the green turn arrow light on when a car coming straight ran through the lights and collided into my left passenger side. As the driver was apologetic and said that he was distracted by his son in the back seat and did not notice that the lights were red, I decided to take down his particulars and clear out the junction. We agreed to file the accident report together later that day. However, when I called him, he changed his story to say that the lights were amber in his favour and that I had dashed across...... I had a pedestrian witthess but he later backed out as he was afraid to be 'troubled'. I am now in a situation where I will lose my claim against him as I'm making a right turn and will have to bear the cost of the repairs (approx $3k-$4K) and the medical costs for my wife who sustained a bad whiplash injury and mild concussion. I'm appealing to anyone who saw the accident to please PM me. I need your help. http://www.eurovanclub.com/forums/viewtopi...p?p=61824#61824
  23. Was at Four Seasons Hotel this morning waiting for a friend from overseas, when I spotted this Traffic Police Officer on the overheadbridge setting up his camera and tripod. But instead of facing his camera towards Wheelock Place, to face oncoming traffic from Orchard MRT (Orchard Boulevard), he positioned his camera to face the opposite direction, facing the direction of Four Seasons Hotel instead. So now, when driving & you look up the overhead bridge to spot for TP camera, and seeing none, you speed up, only to have your REAR no. plate snapped when you drive past the overhead bridge!!! Now I know why those TP on overheadbridges on the PIE have suddenly disappeared. They have repositioned their cameras to face the opposite direction, the rear of your car!!! There are no signs stating the speed limit of Orchard Boulevard, so it means the speed limit on this wide 4 lane rd is 50km/h. It is very easy to exceed the legal speed limit if you are not careful. Beware and please drive carefully and adhere to speed limits.
  24. The 12-km Kallang/Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) will stretch from the East Coast Parkway (ECP) in the south to the Tampines Expressway (TPE) in the North East. To be built at an estimated cost of S$1.8 billion, the expressway includes about 9 km of tunnel, which will be the longest underground expressway in South East Asia. Starting at the ECP, the Kallang section of the expressway crosses beneath the Geylang River, the National Stadium area, Nicoll Highway, Mountbatten Road, Geylang Road, Sims Avenue and the Pan Island Expressway (PIE). The Paya Lebar section of the expressway continues below the Pelton Canal for almost 2 km. It then crosses under Paya Lebar Road, and at the same time over the new Circle Line, to reach Airport Road. The line of the tunnels progress for almost 3.5km below Airport Road and Paya Lebar Air Base before emerging at ground level at Defu Lane 3. The expressway then continues at grade for 3 km, crossing over Tampines Road on a flyover to meet up with TPE at Lorong Halus. KPE is to be a dual-carriageway expressway with three lanes in each direction and eight interchanges. Physical works on the KPE started in 2001 and is targeted to complete in 2008. source :http://www.lta.gov.sg/projects/proj_road_kpe.htm Now ppl staying in the North normally will use CTE to reach central of SG which is fastest.. & ppl in North-east can only use either CTE or ECP to reach city but both also kanna ERP along the way.. so any comments on whether KPE is going to help offload some traffic from CTE during peak hours and maybe reduce some ERP gantries on ECP & CTE too?
  25. Read this guy blog : http://parkingtrafficfineswardens.blogspot.com/ I tink he is . TP has to waive off his fine before he will go to TP HQ for a meeting!!!
