  3. Just wondering if any of you guys who frequent JB kenna. My work requires me to go JB often....but its a hit and run kenna thingy. Today, I need to go pass some documents to my agent in JB...the jam at Woodlands was as usual...JAM PACKED...so I ask my agent to meet me at Gelang Petah (which is about 10mins drive from 2nd Link)....so went in....had a quick kopi with him and out I come... At the causeway, I was asked to go see the officer...I was thinking like WTF....something wrong with my passport ? Then as I step into the officer...I hear the officer say..."Another U-Turn Case"....he ask me if I go makan and come back blah blah blah....so I ask what is wrong...but no reply. Another one got similar stuff that happen to them ? BTW....my frequency is about 2-3 days one milk run there....spend time there no more than 1.5 hours. Today was fast...cos tired and wanted to come home sleep ASAP...so was in and out for less than an hour. Dun tell me now they also wanna control we go M'sia ??? If so...I will tell my boss...afternoon I go in....but Customs say cannot come out so fast...so I go for a spa first.....I sure hope they make it official !! Then its officially can 'twang' when I do those runs into JB !!
  4. What causes my car key turns rusty looking? Car less then 3 months. my colleague's 1yr+ airwave key still looks shiny...I'm aware key will gradually turn out this way after some period of time. 1 month ago my fog light causes the fuse to blow due to "stuck" fog light button switch. and later lead to signal lights, IU unit also down. But cannot remember if key has this rusty looks before or after this incident. I wonder is it due to the fuse blow that causes my car key has the rusty looking. anyone experienced the same issue, or it's common?
  5. usually when most peps do a right turn at a junction... will wait for the opposite traffic to clear or green arrow to come out then turn ... but recently i've noticed that there are cars turning right or U-turning immediately when the green light comes on (no green arrow yet) and try beat the on coming traffic which usually jus move off.... jus tot that its pretty dangerous ... any bros feel that way? (or guilty of that ) used to see such manouvers done by those high CC bikes which can hit a 100 in like 3+ sec... nowadays ... always see taxi do that .... nvm... the other day ... saw a gung-ho female drive u-turning immediately when the lights turn green n there was a taxi in the opp dir ready to move off .... but the taxi wasnt accelerating hard ... another night was gliding to a halt at a red light at a T-junction... there was a stationary car in front of mine... then green light .... so i slowly tap acclerator... the car in front oso move off ... then the car infront suddenly jam... i oso jam... cos one stupid car frm the opp dir siao siao wanna turn right immediately when the lights changed green .. then tink dio shocked stuck in the yellow box stun a while... jus wondering ... say if you see red light in distance ... then u gliding towards the junction w/o pressing brakes or acclerator .... then suddenly lights turn green.. then u see the left lane clear and the right got car slowly moving off .. then naturally will signal left and acclerate past ... imagine wad if another kuku driver performs tt stun .... cos tt kuku didnt see yr car coming as the line of sight might be blocked by the slowly moving off car in yr right lane....
  6. Six Killed While Watching Drag Race Most of the Victims Were Children Home video captured a drag racing car heading into the audience. Six people were killed and 18 injured. (ABC News) Six spectators were killed Sunday when a drag racing car at a charity event in Tennessee lost control and careened into a crowd of people. Hundreds of spectators attending an event to raise money for disabled children were lined up along a stretch of road that had no guard rails in Selmer, Tenn., when a driver lost control of his vehicle. In addition to the six people killed, 18 more were injured, many of them children. A home video capturing the incident showed the car slamming into the crowd in the middle of a wheel-spinning trick. "He was just throwing people up like a deck of cards," one eyewitness said. "I mean it all happened so fast." Another eyewitness hinted the situation may have been preventable. "I'm just upset that this whole situation happened because there's no guard rails and you're two feet from the road," the witness said. Events like car shows and stunt shows draw large audiences, and the Tennessee tragedy raises questions about how safe it is to stand in the crowds. "It did careen into the fans, which was extremely unfortunate," said Robin Ammon, author of "Sport Facility Management" and an expert in crowd management. Ammon said these types of accidents happen all too often. "A lot of times it takes something along the lines of this kind of an incident before they really do something about it," Ammon said. Earlier this month, another crash at a drag racing event in Ohio, which also was captured on video, injured seven people, including an 11-year-old boy. There have also been a series of accidents at air shows and professional sporting events. In 2002, young Nicole Cecil died after being hit in the head with a puck at an NHL hockey game in Columbus, Ohio. "I honestly believe it was her time to go," said Cecil's mother Jody Sergent in a 2002 interview with "Good Morning America's" Diane Sawyer. "She's our angel now." Ammon said parents don't necessarily need to avoid taking their children to these sorts of events. But they should know that there are dangers and should take some precautions, like watching from a safe distance. http://www.abcnews.go.com/GMA/Story?id=3288966&page=2
  7. We're 3 days shy of one little anthracite blue Mk2 Toledo turning 3 but seeing I probably won't be able to log this on her birthday (yes, I'm pretty much convinced mine's a "she" ) and to-date, I am still pretty much proud to say I'm glad I chose her over the rest three years ago. Stats - 1.6m 5-speed manual anthracite blue, stock except for Mintex Red's (K&N recently got discarded "accidentally" ). Was on Pirelli p6000's, now Bridgestone g3's. Mileage - 66000+ (a lot lower than a certain black one... ) Fuel consumption (km/ltr): Best ever - 14.1 (NS highway blast) Worst ever - 8.9 (don't ask me what I was doing then.... ) Average - 11.5 Repairs and reliability - contrary to popular belief and despite countless doomsayers, I'm proud to report, apart from wear-and-tear issues and minor niggles (all listed below) she's been pretty much trouble-free. Repair costs and part replacement have also, contrary to general perception, been pretty reasonable. Unplanned repairs to-date: - sagging roof lining which I didn't notice (replaced under warranty) - faulty aircon vent (changed twice under warranty) - 12-volt plug in boot not working (blown fuse, replaced under warranty) - rear wheel hub (overtightened bolt snapped, replaced by now-mercifully-defunct dealer after some major haggling) - faulty temperature sensor ($20) - brake pad change (can't remember price for pads, labour free ) - broken dipstick ($12) - blown gasket, oil leak (gasket replaced - $70 incl workmanship) - clogged throttle valve (after blast up and down NS h'wy) - blown front indicator, orange bulb ($5) - front passenger window lifter module replacement ($330 - incl workmanship...ouch!) - complete transmission shift linkage replacement ($240 - incl workmanship - very pleased with outcome ) Agenda for the coming year - timing belt (ouch time.... ) - clutch - possibly another window module Likes to-date - build quality for a car of its range still impresses 3 years on - toys, toys and more toys (cruise control, ICE with speed-sensitive volume adjustment and split front-rear function control, trip computer, built-in rear blind which I hardly use, great 6-disc CD changer, digital climate control) - decent handling (not the best) in stock form, not-too-firm ride - surprisingly stable at highway speeds - usually ignored, which I really appreciate in M'sia (some say she's Korean..... ) - damped grab handles.... - huge boot - poor resale value - decent power to haul the family Dislikes to-date - lack of cubby holes - nonsense radio reception (then again, there's not much to listen to.... ) - tempremental alarm (especially in my 1st year of ownership ) - in-dash changer means a joke-of-a glovebox - fragile dipstick - squealy brakes in the morning with Mintex pads (sounds like an SBS bus when I leave for work....) - rubbery, inconsistent (and seemingly mood-dependent) gearshift, made worse by wear-and-tear - monster boot compromises rear legroom - lacks power when I'm alone In short, I'm definitely looking forward to spending a couple more years with her...
  8. Dear Ppl, Recently, my FS-21 (Super mex-on) liquid suddenly turned blurry after leaving it in the car and parking it under the sun for about 3 hours. The liquid which originally should be transparent, turned slightly opaque and can even see some residue forming inside. Anyone has encountered this problem with FS-21? Does anyone knows if it still can be poured into the fuel tank after turning blurry? Thks
