  1. Has anyone visited Soon Huat Tyres recently? Noticed that its website has been down for the past few weeks. Wonder if it's still in business.
  2. Need to change tyres soon. Currently am using 205/55R16 91V. Any recommendation for brand of tyres suitable and what is the price ? Need tyres which are safe on wet road as 2 times my car "skid" in company's car park and it was very scarely. Between, understand that new tyres need to be 205/55R16. Is the 91V important or it don't have to be 91V ? Thanks in advanced.
  3. I thought of buying tyres from them. The prices seem cheap. What do you guys think? Is it worth it or not... if not where to go? Tyrepac website Thanks!
  4. Hi, I am looking to buy new VW rims and tyres (preferably Jetta or Golf) to replace my 16inch. Pls PM me.
  5. Just returned this evening from short work trip. Was doing routine check on vehicle that younger brother used to pick me up from airport since it felt different (and borrowed when I was away); to my horror it is now fitted with: -205.45.ZR16 -Maxxis Victra I-pro UHP Apparently last week's rescue patch did not last, and he decided to change all four to the above at KH yesterday after 7pm. Stock was: -185.55.R16 -Bridgestone Turanza ER370 -26k mileage -one rear tyre patched twice, once 07'15 once last week. Sorry if this sounded like a rant, the only time I saw this brand was when watching EPL on those advert billboards. - Anyone remotely possibly using these with feedback to share? - He swiped supp card total $600, at $150 a piece, ripped off? - He did not check load index, any chance I can do a swap with top up if I go back to WS? Thanks for reading, losing sleep over this pffft.
  6. Hi, anyone knows or experience having installed with different tyre/tires compound on the car even though tires of the same brand? Recently I went back to the same tyre shop that I have patronized for last 3 years but this round, I got bad experience as the tyre were installed with different compound. (Initially all MO and rear tyres need to replaced. It was replaced with 1 N2 and 1 AM8 by KH tyre shop!! at ubi) less than 2weeks, I realised the drive was different esp. on corner and wet floor (these few days raining). I started making inquiry and read a lot online and I understand that its important not to have mix component. I went back to the tyre shop and damn unscrupulous owner gave lots of excuse. **shall elaborate the excuses given by the scheming tyre shop owner** sucks, bulls**t excuses I was told if any accident with root cause related to the tyre will have the insurance void as the tyres were not meant to be mixed! apart from this important factor. All bro, can tell me what to do?? any advice and action that I can take?
  7. Hi. Would like to find out which shop sells TOYO tyres and has proper equipments that changes the tyres without damaging rims. Did a tyre change at a popular tyre shop at AMK(can't mention name) and all 4 rims got scratched. Boss still argue that the damage was by my driving. Do not want the same to happen again. Please advise.
  8. Hi folks:; I did a wheel alignment after changing tyres last thursday. On thing I notice after the whole process is that when driving a straight road in order to drive straight my steering wheel need to be tilted to abit left. So is it the wheel alignment did not do properly ? So is it normal? What is the real problem
  9. Hi guys I am currently using tyres 225/65/R18 and is planning to change the front two tyres soon. I called up one of those workshop and was recommended to change the front two tyres to 235/60/R18 instead. That would also mean a difference of $60 for two tyres. My question is whether is this recommended? Will it hurt the car in anyway? Thank you.
  10. which will you choose for longevity and performance? 19" pss is about 420/p don't know about the price for the f1a2 I have used f1a2 and like the overall performance albeit the soft side walls. and rather noisy after 5k km?

  14. Any of you who just collected / collecting soon, your new Accent, and intend to upsize your tyres, pls PM me. I want to buy your 4 stock tyres, 175/70R14.
  15. I'm planning to change my aging & 15% thread balance tyres to a new set coupled with rims since cheaper to take both. Rim is battered and seems not balanced already as over 5 yrs old and a used rims at that time. Just need to know where is the cheapest place in the West with a huge variety of rims to choose from. Been to Stamford, Autobac and Hankook tyres and quoted at Stamford 16" SSW rims (any design) with Falken 522 / 912 (now running on) is going for $988/- of opt for Continental ContactSport 2 is $1348/- Hankook offer 16" rims with ?? S2 (cannot remember) tyres for $1100/- but only 2 choices and not very interested in the design of rims Autobac is out as too expensive even after trade in existing rims is the same as non trade in at Stamford. Limited boring design for my car. Thought of Poh Kim but not gone there yet to research. Partially they only accept cash but I prefer to earn rebates through my credit card. Any other suggestions?
  16. Sister bought a 2nd hand car and I was pretty impressed with the noise/grip. Thinking to get it for my own car. Any ideas which shops have them? Thanks.
  17. Are there any recommendations for tyres for my Toyota Allion A15? In 2009, people recommended the Bridgestone Potenza Re080 195 60 R16 88h I bought these at Soh Tyres. Any new recommendations?
  18. Hi I recently bought a 3 series that is on 265/30/19 and 235/35/19 wheels. Both tyres are XL. The current tyres are CSC5 but would like to know if there are other brands in this profile there that I can consider. Wanted to get Goodyear F1 A2 but they don't seem to come in XL.

  24. I just changed my stock to 18" rims and Nexen n7000 (225/40z/R18) in early May. But the wife absolutely hates the nose and bumpier ride compared to my previous stock, so i am looking to trade them in with some cash for 15" or 16" rims and relatively new tyres (especially ideal for bros with new cars looking for rim upgrade). My 18" rims and tyres comes with unlimited rotation. Interested bros can contact me at 9337 6797, many thanks.
  25. I'm just worried that if anything to happen, I'm stuck. Any precaution or preparation that may reduce risk?
