  1. Hi bros out there, If you have yet to visit the above attraction, now is probably the best time in my opinion for bros with kids. There is a 2+2 promotion with a Free Christmas light tour and a Free River taxi. I am going next weekend so dont squeeze with me k? Haha. See link. http://www.singaporeflyer.com/en/promotion...-christmas.html
  2. Short writeup on my trip to Odaiba a few days before the Auto Salon. Tokyo 2012 Day 2 - Part 2: Toyota Megaweb First stop, the history garage. Two years ago, i made the trip here only to find it was closed. This time though, it was all open and i was all smiles! Just an awesome collection of cool whips. From tiny Toyota 800s to massive American Cadillac boats to the original Japanese sportscar legends, they had it all. We were allowed to sit inside the tiny 360 to take photos. You could sit inside the messerschmitt if you'd prefer. Needs no introduction. Lotus Elan. Jaaaaaag. Can't forget the BMW. Lovely pair. Back in time? How to go broke really really quick. Visit this memorabilia shop. Ahhhhhhhh... Toyota Megaweb[/url]
  3. Went to ICA to try renewing LTVP for my parents and found that the process has become more complex and stricter now. Need 3 years of income tax, employer's letter confirming salary and employment, CPF contribution... Macam like I want to apply PR for myself. Don't understand why so strict. It's not like they are here for any social benefit nor do they vie for a job here.... I wonder what would have happened if I had chosen the job in Japan. Would that mean their renewal will be rejected?
  4. Now that condoms have to be authenticated by the HSA, the price has shot up. So family-planning couplings are doing away with condoms to cut cost, thus resulting in higher pregnancy rate. What a clever move to get more babies in Singapore. Now, they also make money from the sex trade in Geylang, because only condoms authenticated by the HSA at exorbitant cost can be used. See report below: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: Woman arrested with 100 packets of condoms A 30 year old woman was arrested for trying to bring in 100 packs of condoms from JB. She pleaded guilty to importing a medical device not registered with the HSA, and was fined $2000 and jailed for 2 weeks. (recent some editor killing someone while using handphone - fine and 1 day jail) Since condoms have been reclassified as a medical device class C (together with knee and hip implants and other orthopaedic implants used by the orthopaedic surgeon), there is a big shortage of condoms, and the prices have shot through the roof. You must first register a medical device before you can import it, and you need a licence to import a medical device. The ministers are rubbing their hands in glee, because there is an explosion of pregnancies. Why, we should have thought about this long ago, and our population woes would have been no more. To apply for registration of any brand of condoms takes at least 11 months, and it costs $6200, according to the Sunday Times. So for the next 12 months no condoms. Since Ccondoms are now classified as a medical device, sexual intercourse is reclassified as a medical procedure, and soon we have to take a professional exam to prove our proficiency to perform sexual intercourse. The exam will consist of a written test, followed by an (ahem) oral test, and then we must pass the practical test under the watchful eyes of 3 examiners. A certificate of proficiency will then be issued if you pass all these tests, else we have to sit for a re-exam. This must be prominenty displayed in the room, sitting room, car, public park, hotel room, or whatever, when we are having intercourse, because if we are caught by the HSA officials doing this delicate medical procedure without the certificate of proficiency , we can be charged in court and punished severely. After all, we cannot trust any Tom, Dick and Hairy Dick o do a total knee replacement using a Class C medical device without being fully qualified as an orthopaedic surgeon to do knee replacement, can we? No argument about this, is there? We must be properly qualified as a ........ The prostitutes in town are crying foul, and the ministers again patted themselves in the back: There, we have gotten rid of this vice by classifying condoms as a Class C medical device! Why did we not think of this before? Fast forward 6 months. The gynaecologists and town are making tons of money. Teenage pregnancies, any age pregnancies, any pregnancy unwanted -- there is a bonanza of abortions being done. Fast forward 1 year. No increase in take home babies. Big increase of HIV infections, syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia -- you name it. Why, why did they not think of it before? Million dollar brains.

  9. ST Forum Jun 18, 2011 Why visit a place where we are not welcome? I TOTALLY agree with Mr V. Kumar ('Going to JB? Not worth the trouble'; Thursday) that it is not worth the trouble going to Johor Baru so long as the situation remains unchanged. Last Saturday, I left home at 7am to go to Malaysia for a holiday. I took the Second Link hoping to beat the jam at the Malaysian immigration checkpoint. It was rather smooth clearance at the Tuas side. But to my horror, it took me four hours to clear Malaysian immigration. Just before I drove off, I said to the immigration officer attending to me that the new system was really bad and impractical. Instead of saying sorry for the inconvenience caused, the officer replied: 'Then don't come, lah.' That was almost unpardonable coming from a government official who is supposed to be tourist-friendly. Who would want to visit a place that is unwelcoming to visitors? It was reported that visitors from Singapore made about 13 million trips to Malaysia last year, which constituted about 53 per cent of Malaysia's total tourist arrivals - contributing RM28.4 billion (S$11.6 billion) in receipts. Whose loss is it if Singaporeans stop visiting Malaysia? Lawrence Koo

  15. Just now after dinner, I hear someone pressing my door bell. I went to take a look and a man introduce himself as a staff from the RC. Saying that Minister for XXX and also also MP for YYY GRC is paying house visit to residents and tell me to provide feedback to him if i had any. I am quite surprised coz I remember the last time got minister come talk to me personally and show concern is duno how many yrs back and shortly after, I am issued a coupon telling me to tick one of the box and drop into a metal box at a nearby primary sch on a particular date. Talk to him for awhile and close door. Then I realise yesterday when I came home from work ard 8PM, I saw several workers doing maintenance work on staircase, corridor doors, shifting of potted plants etc. I thot how come so siao on for the authorities to carry out work at night. And also several guys in office attire inspecting the corridor and surrounding area. Now I know why..

  19. Hi all, Attended my 1st ever pop band concert at indoor stadium last night at this age . What an experience! The concert ticket stated from 8pm to 10pm. Guess what? I reached there on the dot and the crowd just merely came in and it was almost 9pm then the concert actually commenced. This reminded me machiam like Chinese wedding dinner, stated 8pm but start only at 9pm. Even at 9pm, it wasn't the pop band performing but some invited band to take up the prelude. And as expected the concert only ended around 11:30pm. Am I mountain gu? or is it all pop musical concerts are organized in this manner one . Regards,
