  4. Can claim or not? STOMPer BlueMoon caught sight of a Lamborghini that was wheel-clamped for two hours. Said BlueMoon: "Lamborghini kena wheel-clamped. "I was on vacation with my family when I saw a white Lamborghini get wheel-clamped for about 2 hours. "I suppose that rich people do not care about the wheel-clamp fees nowadays." http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...eelclamped.html
  5. How come the handbrake is not able to 'lock' the rear wheel when the car is moving? Say in an emergency where your foot brake failed, then you pulled up the handbrake, but the car still go forward. Isn't the handbrake a 'back-up brake' to stop the car in such situation? Is it possible to 'tighten' my Jazz handbrake to make the rear brake more efffective to stop the car? How can I go about doing that? Or is the hand brake 'Purely' design to stop a stationary car from rolling off? So no one design the hand brake to be effective to stop a moving car?
  6. hi guys, has anyone ever encountered a dull "eee" sound when starting the car. It seemed to come from the automatic adjustment of the steering wheel from rest to driving position when the car is being started. 8. [extract] When I first bought my car, the wheels on it was in a terrible state. It was full of kerb rash and dents. I decided to get a new set of wheels and did some internet research on what type of wheels that I would like to get. During that time, I came across several terms that were alien to me. Things like pitch circle diameter (PCD) and offset were new to me and I simply did not understand them. I asked several people about it and got several explanations about them and it just made me more confused. Eventually, I found out the real meaning of these terms in a magazine and I wish to share them with everyone here who might have the same problems as I did before. Let

Do you have any good workshops you can recommend for the above services? Has any of you tried the Stanford Tyres at Yishun? What about Poh Seng or City Auto?? By the way, I drive a 2003 Mazda Protege Auto. All advice appreciated. Thanks.
  11. [extract] I recently experienced some unevenness (car pulling to the right side) feeling while driving my car one day and after parking my car, I checked my tyres. 13. Anyone can share with me where I can get on-car high speed wheel balancing done and at what cost? Preferably around Bukit Batok, Clementi or Bukit Panjang area? My steering tends to vibrate when driving at speeds above 100km/hr; I believe this would solve the problem.
  14. i've been wanting to ask this for a very long time liao keep forgetting... from my knowledge, wheel spacers are mainly to clear bigger calipers... those who are using it, any wheel vibrations at high speeds? SOME... only some cars look good with wheel spaces... i always believe a wider wheel base will make the car look better... but if your car is not designed to fit wider wheel base than the car will end up yucks... i am probably not making myself very clear... .... hmmm ok example... i feel lah... wheels to far out for these cars look yucks... 1st gen Mazda3, Estima, Avante.... its like there's no swallon wheel arc and the design of the car fenders just look bad with wheels out of the body... anyways just wanna know if you are using wheel spacers and WHY?... many thanks...
  15. Where to change gear shift leather, gear knob and steering wheel leather?
  16. This time no way another AOG denial clause right? Now whom STOMPer's insurance company has to claim from now: TC, PUB or HDB? From STOMP: http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sg...gets_stuck.html Posted on 11 Dec 2011 Driver hurts back when car wheel gets stuck in manhole with broken cover STOMPer Jason hurt his back when one of the wheels on his car got stuck in a manhole which had a broken cover. Said the STOMPer: "I was driving my car out of my HDB estate near Blk 679B Jurong West Central 1 at about 1:30pm yesterday (Dec 10). "As I was exiting the HDB estate, there was a car in front of me which safely proceeded onto the main road. "I was the second car and as I was driving out of the estate towards the main road, my entire car sank into an unknown depression. "There was a loud bang, and I noticed that my car had tilted towards the right side in a very dangerous manner. "My engine stalled and I was unable to drive on. Due to the impact of the accident, I suffered severe pains in my lower back and I had to stagger out of my car. "To my horror, when I came out of my car, I noticed that the manhole cover was missing. "Subsequently, upon examining the hole which was about 1.5 metres deep, I found that the manhole metal cover was broken into pieces and had landed at the bottom of the manhole. "My car was stuck at the location for a total of 3 hours. From the pictures which I had taken, the metal cover covering the manhole had broken into three pieces. "The surrounding area around the manhole was also rusty. The missing manhole cover can lead to serious injuries or even death for: 1. Pedestrians especially elderly and young children 2. Parents pushing their baby pram 3. cyclist 4. motorcyclist 5. any other vehicles. "In the event that any person were to fall into the manhole which is 1.5m deep, there could be serious injury or fatality involved. "Just two weeks ago, a 21-year-old beautician Sim Sin Ee was killed when her boyfriend's car apparently went over a pothole in the road. "Their vehicle had crossed over the central divider and was hit by vehicles travelling in the opposite direction."
