  4. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/strike-iran-trigg...-154738986.html Strike on Iran would trigger 'World War III': Guards Iran could launch a pre-emptive strike if Israel prepares to attack it, a senior Revolutionary Guards commander told broadcaster Al-Alam on Sunday, a day after his boss warned that conflict was inevitable. Should Israel and Iran engage militarily, "nothing is predictable... and it will turn into World War III," Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh told Iran's Arabic-language television network. Hajizadeh, who is in charge of Revolutionary Guards missile systems, said: "In circumstances in which they (the Israelis) have prepared everything for an attack, it is possible that we will make a pre-emptive attack. But we do not see this at the moment." He added that Iran would deem any Israeli strike to be conducted with US authorisation, so "whether the Zionist regime attacks with or without US knowledge, then we will definitely attack US bases in Bahrain, Qatar and Afghanistan." He warned that Israel "cannot imagine our response -- and it will sustain heavy damage and that will be a prelude to its obliteration." On Saturday, the head of the Revolutionary Guards, General Mohammad Ali Jafari, said war between Iran and Israel "will eventually happen, but it is not certain where and when." It was the first time a senior Iranian official had acknowledged a probability of war breaking out between the two arch-foes. Jafari, quoted by the ISNA and Fars news agencies, also said such a conflict would lead to the annihilation of Israel. "If they begin (aggression), it will spell their destruction and will be the end of the story," he said. On Sunday, Jafari's deputy, Brigadier General Hossein Salami, told Fars in an interview that Iran's "defensive strategy is based on the assumption that we will engage in a war, a massive battle against a global coalition led by the US." He said the Islamic republic had made preparations to "crush" the enemy by hitting "enemy bases in the region, the security of the Zionist regime (Israel) and the energy market, as well as the lives of enemy forces." He added: "We will not start a war. But if someone wages war against us, we will launch continuous offensives." Tensions have risen significantly in recent weeks, with Israel threatening to unleash air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Israel believes Iran's nuclear programme to be aimed at developing an atomic weapons capability that would menace its existence and its current status as the Middle East's sole, if undeclared, nuclear weapons power. Iran insists that its atomic programme is exclusively for peaceful, civilian ends, but it is locked in a deepening stand-off with the UN nuclear watchdog and the UN Security Council over the issue
  5. Recently one of my colleague left the company forgoing the bonus that will be given out at the end of the year. It caught many of us by surprise. Then I got a job switch opportunity this week. Just like to know if you would jump switch when bonus time is coming at the end of the year with the following : 1) No AWS and/or bonus from current company which pays out at the end of the year. 2) New job's salary abt 10% more than current one. 3) Transport allowance around the same. 4) New job offer a supervisory post over the current one. 5) Both job locations are around the same area. 6) New job local only while current needs to travel regionally. My current job is service engineering which requires me to travel to customers' area.

  11. New Liverpool manager did well in his first interview with the press. Striking the right cord with both his old and new clubs by thanking Swansea for the wonderful years and paid tribute to LFC legend Kenny Dalglish. Most importantly, he evaded the question on whether he will be bringing in players from Swansea. Even if there is a gentleman agreement with Swansea not to touch their players now, Gylfi Sigurdsson could still be here as he is technically not yet a Swansea player.
  12. I was behind a black BMW, travelling at about 50-60kmh. Lights turned red, he was still behind the first arrow but he just went through. Although the speed was quite slow and he did not cause any near miss, it was within school area (Eden School). Will you give him the benefit of doubt? Or let the TP decide?
  13. It seems to be getting harder these days for one to enjoy a decently priced meal of hawker food. From $13 for a plate of nasi padang to $17 for a bowl of laksa, food courts in shopping malls have seen an invasion of hawker food at restaurant prices. And while it was previously common only at food outlets in town, these hefty prices are now creeping into our neighbourhoods, much to the ire of patrons. But stall owners say they have little choice but to charge such prices due to high rents and food costs, reported The Straits Times. At a newly opened food court, Rasapura Masters in Marina Bay Sands (MBS) for instance, a meal of nasi padang with three side dishes

  15. Will you joint the 20% of the car owners who took part in the survey, to give up owning a car or forgo driving and switch to public transport? Or you are indeed one of the 20% who has intention to give up driving or owning a car, to switch to public transport. http://www.zaobao.com.sg/sp/sp120729_003.shtml English Translation (Only on those more relevant to the topic) According to a poll by Lianhe Zaobao showed that close to 20% of car owners took part in the survey would forgo driving if COE prices continue to rise further. However, around 40% of car owners say that they will still buy a new car even if COE prices continue to hit new highs. The remaining 40% are undecided and more than half from this group of people are likely to sell or scrap their car upon reaching 10 years old, only 30% of them will renew the COE for their existing car to continue driving. Those who prefer buying new cars are of the view that pre-owned vehicles are costly to maintain as compared to the new cars, which are relatively cheaper to maintain. A real estate agent interviewed said that he has lost confidence on pre-owned cars. He revealed that he has owned 3 pre-owned cars previously and each of his pre-owned cars had been causing him lots of maintenance problems and he had to spent almost $500 monthly on the car maintenance. He said he would never buy a pre-owned car again, as these 2nd hand cars had given him lots of problems. He now owns a 4 years car, which was a new car at the time of purchase, and he spent only a few hundred dollars yearly to maintain this car. Transport researchers were surprised to find that 20% of respondents said they would forgo owning a car and take public transport should COE prices continue to rise. They noted that with even a 5% fall in the traffic volume, Singapore would see significant improvements in its road traffic conditions, especially at peak hours.
  16. The movie title is already a spoiler. Dark Knight Rises sounds more like the first movie of a trilogy rather than the last. What's more, Batman is going to get his back broken. He is also aging so how is he going to protect Gotham as a lau hero? Most likely Bruce Wayne will either die or get crippled and his Batman persona will be taken over by this guy: Btw, the movie is 2 hrs 45 mins long so remember to empty your bladder beforehand. After this blockbuster, I think there wouldn't be another epic until The Hobbit in December
  17. This mrn I went to Esso to pick up some drinks and the Ah Tiong Bu cashier asked me to buy small Sg flags and batches to celebrate NDP. I told her jokingly that I am not a S'porean. I turned her down saying that our garment oso never gv us money and buy those stuff for what. Deep inside my heart I tell myself that even if the garment will gv us $5 to display them inside my car, I will oso think twice.

    Will you stay?

Ideally speaking, If elsewhere is cheaper, bigger, safer, everything better, on and on.. The opportunity to move overseas will be smooth as butter, job available etc. All you need to do is say yes or no, How many would move in a heartbeat? How many would still stay behind?
