Hyunda has unveiled the new Accent hybrid at the 2006 Guangzhou motor show. The Accent hybrid combines an Alpha II 90 hp (67 kW) 1.4-liter CVVT (Continuous Variable Valve Timing) gasoline engine (also used in the Getz) with a 12 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor integrated between the engine and the transmission. The engine delivers 126 Nm of torque; the electric motor delivers 80 Nm torque. The engine is downsized from the 110 hp 1.6-liter top-end gasoline engine found in the conventional Accent. According to Hyundai, the Accent hybrid offers fuel consumption of 5.29 liters/100 km (44.5 mpg US). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 12.2 seconds.

I saw this ad for this car and wondering if anyone can give some advice on it. This 2nd hand car is selling at $24.5k, OMV abt 11k, registered in 2001. So there's high parf value on this. But I have some queries and hopefully someone can help me.. 1. Spare parts easy to find and are they cheap? 2. I saw the fuel economy chart and this car should run at abt 14km/l since its manual. Is this consider good? 3. If I drive the car for 2 yrs, is it possible to sell at higher price? 4. What kind of problems will this car potentially have since its driven for 5yrs? Thank you anyone who can help me on this. If anyone have lobang out there for a 2nd hand car selling ard 20-25k, please also let me know. :) Cheers!

Anyone got the new Hyundai Verna / Accent yet ? Any news/info on the car so far ? thinking very seriously of getting one. Heard that Hyundai quality has increased alot. But don't know how it is so far on this model. Any feedback or experieces is welcome please.

A preview of the all-new Accent to come, this concept seems timed perfectly to coincide with the imminent onslaught of Asian pocket rockets, led by the Honda Civic Si, and soon to be followed by Nissan with its anti-Scion brigade. The SR looks like a tuner car right on the stand, with a full body kit, rear brake air inlets, and rear hatch spoiler. Dramatic wheel arches and large 18-inch wheels further fuel the sporting image. The interior looks "Tron" inspired with a blue glow around controls, including the center console touch screen and high-tech gauge cluster. The eight-inch LCD display features three USB ports for a variety of multimedia applications. Ample use of leather and aluminum trim give the well-appointed interior a sporty feel. Powertrain details weren't revealed, but it is known that the car is fitted with a 2.0L turbocharged engine and a five-speed automatic transmission. Hyundai has given the usual disclaimer that this is a concept, and some elements may go in to production, yaddah, yaddah. We hope the SR eventually joins the range with limited changes, as this could bring some fire to the resurging hot hatch segment. source: Motor Trend

All of you who think the Verna/Accent looks yucky... Take a look at the 3 door SE hatchback targeted for end of 2006.... Of course. Hyundai jazz up the model with lots of cool extras... But it's supposed to be a 1.8 or 2 L turbo-charged .... Plenty of horses inside. Check out the cool exhaust and the illuminated interior dials.

Everyone has been drooling over the Hyundai Accent/Verna 3 Dr SR Hatch since it was showcased. The Accent/Verna and Rio are essentially the same car. How about comparing it against the Rio Sport Hatch that was showed in the Frankfurt Motor show ? Personally, I still like the Accent SR much better. Clean lines & smooth styling. The Rio Sport looks a bit too busy. Below are pics for comparison. Spot any similarities or differerences ??? Comments ???
