  1. Errant cyclists are a common sight these days. Every other day, user-submitted videos of errant cyclists or cyclists being involved in an accident never fail to be published on various online channels. Watch this video of an errant cyclist that was involved in an accident, which ends in a lowkey hilarious manner: What Happened? An errant cyclist blatantly disregards a stop signage and stop-line marking and continues to attempt to make a right turn. After looking left and right to check for oncoming traffic, he somehow fails to spot an oncoming Toyota Corolla approaching him. He then cycles into the path of the Toyota Corolla and gets hit by it. A Precious Bicycle I can tell the cyclist loves his bicycle a lot. So much so that he clings onto it even after getting hit by the Toyota. And the result of it is kinda hilarious - the bicycle bounces off the hood of the Toyota and lands on his head. NGL, this accident could have been worse for the errant cyclist. Today he may have suffered some bruises and cuts from this accident, but he may not be this lucky all the time. A Common Occurrence It seems as though cyclists just don't give a damn about their safety. Similarly, a colleague of mine also encountered an errant cyclist yesterday (30 Mar): Needless to say, this near-miss incident was enough for him to have almost "shit in his pants". Netizens' Comments Even his bicycle wants to 'knock' some sense into him. Its getting more and more ridiculous. Exactly why you shouldn't do things in a half-f@ck manner! ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 2. Source: https://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/tech-news-online-traffic-accident-claims-simulator-maco-singapore-motorists Motorists involved in an accident can now have a sense of how much damages they can claim in the eyes of the law in under 10 minutes, by just answering a series of multiple-choice questions. There's now an online traffic accident claims simulator that helps motorists settle accidents out of court Motorists involved in an accident can now have a sense of how much damages they can claim in the eyes of the law in under 10 minutes, by just answering a series of multiple-choice questions. An online traffic accident claims simulator developed by the Singapore Courts and the Singapore Academy of Law, called the Motor Accident Claims Online (Maco), churns out ballpark figures for claimants within a matter of minutes using technology that takes into account current laws and case precedents. This is useful for people involved in the accident to decide if it is worth suing the other party or insurer in cases where there are differing accounts or evidence offered by both parties, or if one party is dissatisfied with the insurance payout. Ideally, parties can use Maco to come to an agreement on the settlement without resorting to legal proceedings, saving them time and money and allowing court resources to be better spent. Right now, Maco can determine how liable a person is, depending on where the accident took place and the relative positions of the two vehicles, and how much a victim suffering from a specific type of injury can claim. For instance, a 32-year-old who has no fault in an accident that left him requiring stitches on his back can get $1,400 to $1,600, according to Maco. Meanwhile, a similarly faultless 35-year-old who needs knee surgery after his knee was dislocated can aim for a much higher sum of about $11,000 to $12,000. The simulator can be accessed for free at this website. Motor accidents currently take up a sizeable chunk of the State Courts' time. Between 2019 and 2021, 46 per cent of civil writs filed in the State Courts were related to motor accidents. "They form a significant proportion of all civil cases in the State Courts," a State Courts spokesman told The Straits Times. "The project is currently being developed in phases and will be progressively enhanced with additional features and functionalities." The tool is currently non-binding and is not meant as a perfect substitute for legal advice. For now, the liability outcome simulator and the simulator for bodily injury claims are kept separate, even though how liable an injured motorist was in an accident would affect his potential claim in the real world. The simulators also cannot yet take into account non-injury claims such as loss of income or vehicle or property damage, but they are steps in the industry's continued efforts to get to a possible future where low-level motor accidents could be entirely adjudicated by artificial intelligence (AI). Many large insurance companies, such as Sompo Japan Nipponkoa Insurance and Australia's IAG, are already developing their own AI solutions, using such technologies to analyse the Global Positioning System and dashcam footage to determine payouts. Asked whether the courts are considering further integrating the simulator into the courts, the spokesman said the courts are continuing to survey the industry for new technology. He added: "The courts' adoption of technology must strike a delicate balance between being on the curve of the latest developments, and providing effective and efficient resolution for persons of all levels of digital literacy." Ms Wang Ying Shuang, a partner at law firm Rajah & Tann who specialises in insurance, said the simulator will help manage motorists' expectations of their legal position or exposure and allow them to decide next steps accordingly. She said it is important that the courts find ways to speed up or keep claims of small value out of court, particularly as they take up court time disproportionately and disillusion lawyers who do not charge by the hour for such cases. "The same amount of (court) resources is dedicated to motor accident claims regardless of whether they are $5,000 or $50,000," she said. "Other civil issues such as defamation suits and more complex issues, including contractual dispute, would arguably require more attention and resources." Since 2008, the courts have put in prescribed protocols to encourage early resolution of motor accident disputes, and there is already mandatory court-administered mediation or neutral evaluation to get parties to explore settling. But even these are conducted by district judges, although during the Covid-19 pandemic, online mediation hearings made the process cheaper and saved time. Ms Wang said AI is unlikely to take on the role of judge and jury any time soon. "It may raise issues about whether this would affect the public's confidence in the judicial process," she said. "AI may not be equipped to come up with a 'fair' outcome having regard to the human element - sympathy and compassion - or non-tangible factors." https://motoraccidents.lawnet.sg/
  3. ... sometimes leaves car logo bruises as a souvenir. I can imagine many Mercedes owners can't wait to show their 3 point star bruises to people around them in such unfortunate event! A Twitter thread gone viral shows oddly perfect logos – from Nissan, Mercedes, Chevy, and more – as gnarly forearm bruises. Nissan Mazda Honda Hyundai Buick Bonus picture. @Jamesc MIL!
  4. Somehow or rather, cyclists are always associated with poor road behaviour or being a road pest. Watch the video below and find out why it isn't difficult for the public to feel that way: What Happened? A Toyota Rav 4 was waiting for pedestrians to finish crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing before performing his left turn. Despite a blinking green man signal with 2 seconds left on the timer, a cyclist from the other side of the road made a last-minute decision to rush across the road with his two kids in tow. The driver failed to notice the cyclist and proceeded with his turn since it was highly likely that he was in the driver's blind spot. As a result, the Toyota SUV grazed the front of the bicycle, which caused the cyclist to stumble. Needless to say, the cyclist vented his frustration and anger at the Toyota driver by gesturing his middle finger towards the white SUV. I am pretty sure if there was audio, we could hear lots of profanities being projected from the cyclist. Netizens' Comments Typical road pest. Definitely both parties were at fault. 5. In most cases, a loss of traction is likely to occur when a car negotiates a bend at high speed due to the drastic weight shift in the car's weight distribution. As such, it is never a good idea to negotiate a bend at high speed, let alone overtake at a bend. However, some drivers still do it regardless, such as this BMW driver: What Happened? This incident occurred along Lornie Drive. At a bend towards Lornie highway, a BMW 320i performs an aggressive overtaking manoeuvre. He switches from lane 2 to lane 1, overtaking the cam car from the left. After that, he overtakes a lorry from the right on lane 2. During the multiple lane switches, the BMW went too close for comfort with a motorcyclist in front of it. As a result, the motorcyclist lost balance and fell, rolling multiple times on the road. May I also bring to your attention how the BMW driver diligently used his signal indicators amid all the overtaking action?! Unclear of What Happened Some netizens retorted, voicing out that the BMW sideswiped or bumped the motorcycle's rear tyre, which caused the motorcyclist to lose control. Well, there is a possibility that the situation above could have happened. However, it is impossible to determine from the dashcam video above due to the camera angle. Regardless of the incident, what is important is that the motorcyclist emerged from the incident unscathed. Netizens' Comments And it goes on and on and on.... True. 6. Jaywalking is never a good idea. And what's worse is when one attempts to jaywalk at a busy industrial area in the presence of heavy vehicles. Watch it here: What Happened? The accident occurred at Sungei Kadut Avenue, where a man attempted to jaywalk a busy industrial road. He stopped in the middle of the road as heavy vehicles drove past him. Just then, the cam car, together with a motorcycle that was riding ahead of him, approached the bend right before the jaywalker. Due to heavy vehicles around and the bend, the jaywalker was in a very obscure position. Despite applying his brakes, the motorcycle failed to stop in time. And as a result, he rammed right into the jaywalker, which sent him flying in mid-air. The jaywalker fell hard onto the ground and lay there motionless throughout the video. Passersby quickly rushed to the scene to check on both parties. Netizens' Comments Indeed. Only drivers/riders know this. Such knowledge and awareness would not necessarily occur to pedestrians. As usual. Drivers and riders always have to expect the unexpected, that's why driving/riding in Singapore is stressful. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 7. When an individual jaywalks, it is almost a no-brainer to check for oncoming traffic and blind spots before crossing the road. Unfortunately, this jaywalker had to learn to check for oncoming traffic and her blind spots the hard way: What Happened? This accident occurred on 20th February 2022, along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 after the SPC petrol station. The cam car was travelling along lane 3 at a relatively slow speed. Out of the blue, a woman dashes out from in-between two cars along lane 2. It was apparent that the woman did not bother checking her blind spot and simply assumed that there was no oncoming car. The cam car driver, who was unable to react in time, ended up colliding into the jaywalking woman with a substantial amount of force that sent her flying in mid-air for a good second or so. NGL, I am certain that F1 drivers cannot react in time if they were in the above situation. After landing on her back, the lady instantly got up to her feet. She then walked towards the roadside and sat on the grass while a passerby, the cam car driver and his passenger attended to her. This was a fortunate outcome for the jaywalking lady, considering she emerged from this accident without much hurt. Hopefully, this experience proves to be a valuable lesson to her. Netizens' Comments Hopefully some regulations can be made to protect motorists too. 💯 Hahaha what a troll. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. 8. You would realise that drifting is never/hardly seen in Singapore due to the strict traffic laws that surround us. With an exception for motorsports events in a controlled environment, such as Gymkhana, which require drivers to skillfully manoeuvre around various obstacles while performing handbrake turns and drifts to clock the fastest time possible. And then this guy shows up: What Happened? This accident occurred at CTE Havelock Road exit. A car which seems to be a Honda Accord (Euro R maybe?) was seen exiting the CTE tunnel at high speed while performing a 'drift'. Initially, everything seemed fine until the front-wheel-drive (FWD) car lost traction at its wheels. As a result, the driver lost control of the car and slammed straight into the wall. Do you think the driver performed this 'drift' intentionally? Or was it a mere mistake on the driver's part by attacking the bend at high speed? P.S. For those that aren't aware, front-wheel-drive cars cannot perform conventional drifts like what we see in Fast & Furious. Netizens' Comments A very good explanation by our guru. I think so too. What a savage. ========= Be the first to get the latest road/ COE news, and get first dibs on exclusive promos and giveaways in our Telegram SGCM Community. Join us today!
  9. There are many types of fraud involved in motor insurance. The more prominent type is insurance touting, which you can read more about here: However, there are less common frauds such as this: ezgif.com-gif-maker (2).mp4 Watch the entire video here: https://www.facebook.com/BehChiaLor/videos/4537913869663747/ What Happened? The accident occurred along Nicole Drive towards Changi Coastal Road. The dashcam footage shows the cam car, a black SUV and a motorcyclist travelling together in the same direction. When they were approaching an intersection, a random Subaru Forester appeared out of nowhere - stuck in the middle of the road after performing an illegal u-turn. Despite braking for a good 5 seconds, the motorcyclist was unable to stop in time and collided with the side of the Subaru Forester's rear section. As a result, the motorcyclist lost his balance and fell to the ground, along with his motorcycle. Something Fishy Is Going On Subsequently, the passenger of the Forester came out of the SUV to "check" on the damages. After glancing at the damages, he proceeded to open the driver's side door and took over as the driver, while the initial driver of the Forester went to the back seat. The video ends when the Subaru Forester and motorcyclist stop further down the road at the roadside. @Cam car After watching the video carefully, here's what grinds my gears: It is the part where the cam car constantly flashes his high beam at the Subaru Forester as he approaches it. FYI, flashing your high beams in that manner would not prevent an accident - Look what happened to the motorcyclist. Netizens' Comments Maybe because that intersection wasn't made for u-turns to be performed there? Highly likely. But if you think about it, if the passenger was sober and possessed a valid license, why would he endanger his own life by sitting in the car? @To those of you wondering why the motorcyclist "did not brake". ======== Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! 10. Have you seen the new Hyundai Palisade on our roads? It is normal if you haven't seen this monster of an SUV powered by a 3.5L V6 engine, pushing out a total of 374 BHP and 336Nm of torque. It is very rare to spot a Palisade cruising around. It is so rare that this taxi driver decides to leave his mark on the Palisade. Watch it here: What Happened? The accident occurred at Halus Link Junction towards Punggol. A Silvercab taxi and Hyundai Palisade travelled alongside as they approached a 2-lane filter lane. As they negotiated the gradual left turn, the Silvercab abruptly cuts into the lane of the Hyundai Palisade. The taxi driver's inability to keep within his lane while turning and his ignorance of not checking for surrounding traffic resulted in him sideswiping the Hyundai SUV. Despite being a larger vehicle, the massive 8-seater SUV was forced out of the lane, causing it to cut across the solid double white lines. It was fortunate that no oncoming traffic was present at that point in time. Thoughts TBH, it seems like a norm for taxi drivers to drive however they like. More often than not, it seems pretty common for taxi drivers to take up 2-lanes, drive recklessly or cut other drivers off in an abrupt manner. But now that I think of it, doesn't that describe Singapore drivers in general? Netizens' Comments Exactly how I feel. NGL, that is straight-up facts 💯 I wondered what substance he was high on for him to leave a comment like this. And then I saw his profile picture. 11. This Vin Diesel lookalike takes ‘no chill’ to the next level when he gets honked for driving recklessly. In this video, a driver was on his way to work when he meets a short-tempered and illogical Vin Diesel (SG version). The video starts with the cam car driver making a left turn on Circuit Road. He notices a white Honda CRV cutting across the double white lines as he does so. The white vehicle aims for the right lane (aka the one the cam car driver was already on) as it slides across the road like a seal into the ocean. Not wanting to be hit by the CRV, the cam car driver presses his horn to alert the other driver of his presence. This triggers the driver, who has not made it entirely into the lane yet but was ready to throw hands in the middle of the road. After adjusting his car’s position, the bald bold driver gets out of his car and starts one of the shortest confrontations I have ever seen. He glares threateningly at the cam car before waving his hands madly and scolding the driver for honking at him. After 5 seconds, he gets off his high horse and angrily returns to his vehicle. Honestly, I don’t know how some drivers can have such high egos when they are so blatantly in the wrong. Guessing game: How many demerit points does this driver deserve? Firstly, crossing double white lines is not allowed in Singapore. Drivers found guilty will receive a $150 fine and 4 demerit points. Secondly, drivers who fail to give way to oncoming traffic at a controlled or uncontrolled junction will receive a fine of up to $200 and 4 demerit points. Thirdly, drivers who fail to indicate or provide warning signals while driving will receive a fine of up to $150. Fourthly, while the confrontation only lasted about 5 seconds, it is still considered an act of road rage. According to the law, road rage happens when the driver, or passengers, alight from their vehicles to harm each other in a moment of anger. Offenders will receive a fine of up to $5,000 or an imprisonment term of up to 12 months. Lastly, drivers found guilty of careless driving will receive a fine of up to $250 and 6 demerit points. If we add all of these charges together, our burly Vin Diesel might be looking at a fine of up to $900 and 14 demerit points (not inclusive of road rage). 12. Bollards are an essential safety feature put in place by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) to reduce the impact and severity of an accident between an errant motorist and pedestrians. Over the years, many motorists have attempted to test the bollard's rigidity and robustness: However, one thing in common is that all these cars failed against the bollard. Watch this video to see the aftermath of a Ferrari 458 going head-to-head against a bollard: What Happened? A blue Ferrari 458 Speciale crashed head-first into a bollard at the junction of Marina Boulevard. Below is a Google Maps view of the accident location: Needless to say, the Ferrari's bonnet was a complete wreck. Due to its rear-engine location, the Ferrari was still driveable. Despite the significant damages, the Ferrari driver was persistent in shifting his car off the pedestrian pavement that he mounted for some weird reason. Moments later, the police arrived on the scene. On Closer Look The location was oddly familiar after looking at the accident site using Google Maps. I then realised it turned out to be the same location as the "Mitsubishi Lancer Vs Bollard" accident mentioned above! Isn't it weirdly coincidental? Netizens' Comments If it was a front-engine, can send the car to the scrapyard straightaway. Thanks LTA! 13. Teenager admits using his mother's shared car account to book vehicle, got into accident. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/teenager-admits-using-mothers-shared-tribecar-account-book-vehicle-accident-2413886 SINGAPORE: A 17-year-old boy who helped his mother book shared cars rented a vehicle for himself using her account, but got into an accident with a parked car. The teenager, now 18, pleaded guilty on Tuesday (Jan 4) to three traffic-related charges and a fourth charge of unauthorised computer access. A fifth charge will be considered in sentencing. He cannot be named as he was under 18 at the time of the offences and is protected under the Children and Young Persons Act. The court heard that the teen frequently helped his mother to book cars from car-sharing mobile application Tribecar. He did not have his own Tribecar account as he was underage, but he knew his mother's login details. In March last year, he changed the login ID to his own email, so that his mother would be unaware if he made any bookings. At about 10.30pm on Apr 6 last year, he decided to book a car for a joy ride the next day. He booked a Honda Stream and retrieved the vehicle from a multi-storey car park in Jurong West the next morning. After driving for about one-and-a-half hours, he entered a petrol station in Woodlands and tried to park the vehicle. However, he failed to keep a proper lookout ahead and collided with a parked vehicle in front of him. He apologised to the driver of the vehicle and exchanged numbers with him, but could not be contacted afterwards. When the teen's mother found out that her son had driven the car, she informed Tribecar and paid S$500 as compensation for the damage caused. The prosecutor said the teenager has no previous convictions and did not object to the calling for a probation suitability report. In mitigation, the teen said he regretted all the decisions he made throughout "these matters". "I hope you realise it was a very foolish thing to do," the judge told him, adding that it was a good thing no one was injured. "I hope it's something you remember - never to break the law again," he said. The judge called for a report assessing the teen's suitability for probation and adjourned sentencing to February.
  14. It is only the start of the new year, but I think we got a winner for the weirdest sighting of 2022 already. Watch the video here: What Happened? This sighting occurred along the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), in the wee hours of the night. The witness who recorded the video said he was driving along the AYE when he almost rear-ended the abandoned, stationary van. He proceeded to stop his vehicle behind the stationary van to inspect and offer help (supposedly) to the van driver. Upon inspection, the van was found to have sustained significant damages to the driver's door and the windshield, which deployed its airbags. What was most puzzling was that the van driver was nowhere to be found, and the van's engine was still running! Furthermore, there was no sign of collision between the van and another vehicle. How strange... What It Looks Like NGL, this looks as though an alien spaceship came down to abduct the van driver. Heck. It even looks as though the van driver faded into dust from Thanos' snap. What do you think happened? 15. Just as the joyous festive season kicked in, an unsuspecting accident completely ruined the atmosphere. Watch the spine-chilling accident here: What Happened? The accident occured along the stretch of Tampines Ave 10, close to midnight on 23rd December. A red Mercedes A180 drove from Tampines Ave 1 before negotiating a left turn onto Tampines Ave 10. From the video, it seems like the red Mercedes was travelling at a fast speed when he approached the left turn. Oddly, the Mercedes did not seem to have any intention to negotiate the bend. What puzzled me further was that it seemed to be driving straight into the metal barrier and the vehicles in the opposite direction. As a result, the Mercedes ended up T-boning a white SUV at the red light. There was plenty more collateral after the first point of impact with the white SUV, including a motorcyclist who happened to be lane splitting. The Aftermath In total, four cars, a taxi and one motorcycle were involved in the accident. Unfortunately, one driver succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, while four other motorists were injured and taken to the hospital. Subsequently, the driver of the red Mercedes was arrested for suspected drink driving. Speeding Apparently, the driver of the red Mercedes was racing another car before the accident occurred. They were caught on dashcam footage as they sped down Tampines Ave 1. Netizens' Comments Dude, the Mercedes driver was arrested for suspected drink driving. Regardless, drivers like him should be off our roads. Yes, totally agreed. NGL, my heart dropped a little while watching the video. 16. Yishun Dam is a well-known spot for two things - a scenic place to 'lepak' and an accident hotspot. Watch a near-miss freak accident caught on dashcam here: What Happened? It was any other usual day for the cam car, cruising along lane 1 of Yishun Dam towards Yishun Ave 1. A black lorry from the opposite direction mounted the kerb out of the blue. As a result, it almost caused a head-on collision with the Lexus in front of the cam car. At this juncture, both the quick-thinking Lexus driver and cam car performed a sudden evasive manoeuvre to avoid getting swiped by the lorry. However, in the process, the Lexus driver seems to have contacted the motorcycle on its left. From the footage, it is not clear if the lorry managed to dismount the kerb on its own afterwards. Netizens' Comments Undeniably true. NGL the Lexus driver does have a splendid reaction time 👏 MMMM...interesting theory. I must admit that this has never crossed my mind. 17. Car-sharing is an undeniably innovative and affordable way for the public to access a car. In the wrong hands, car-sharing can be a double-edged sword, capable of posing a hazard to other road users. *Pretty sure we are all familiar with drivers of a small, white car on lane 1 of the expressway, driving with its high beam on and tailgating others👀* Watch this video to find out how car-sharing can be a deadly hazard to other road users when driven by irresponsible pricks: What Happened? This incident occurred along Bartley Viaduct, in the direction of Bartley Road East. The traffic on the stretch of road was absolutely clear, apart from a GetGo Car (Mazda 3) and motorcycle that passed the cam car. During which, the GetGo driver was driving in between two lanes. (Definitely a sign of a chiu cheng driver) For some reason, the GetGo driver failed to spot the motorcyclist that was LITERALLY right in front of him. As a result, the GetGo driver ended up swerving to his right to avoid rear-ending the motorcyclist. The high speed, coupled with the sudden swerve, caused the Mazda 3 to lose traction and skid. As much as I don't wish to make any assumptions, I can assure you the GetGo driver probably has minimal driving experience (Either that or he is drunk/on drugs). *Don't drop the "Even though I have not been driving ever since I got my license at 18, I have x years of driving experience" B.S on me* While attempting to regain control over the vehicle, the GetGo driver ended up sideswiping the motorcycle...REAL BAD. The collision caused the motorcyclist to fall and repeatedly roll on the road. It seems like the motorcyclist may have sustained significant injuries. The GetGo driver scoots off immediately without hesitating after colliding with the motorcyclist. Not Caught On Camera According to the cam car, he chased the GetGo car after witnessing the hit and run. Apparently, during his escape, the GetGo car also collided with two other vehicles in the vicinity of Maris Stella High School. A pity all these were not caught on a dashcam. It would certainly serve as solid evidence to put this chiu cheng driver away for good. Here's to wishing the motorcyclist a speedy recovery. And I hope the dashcam video finds you well to assist you in your claims accordingly. Netizens' Comments 🤨🤨🤨 Heng ah. 18. If you are a regular social media user, you would have seen your fair share of weird or unusual vehicle incidents in Singapore. Well, you can add the following incident to that list. Watch it here: What Happened? The incident occurred in Hong Lim multi-storey carpark. After waiting for a Honda Vezel to reverse park into a handicapped lot, the cam car proceeded to move off. Just then, a Toyota Vios accelerates out of his parking lot at full speed, without any warning. The sudden acceleration caused the Toyota driver to lose control, colliding with multiple cars and motorcycles parked opposite it. Subsequently, the momentum and impact from the initial collision caused the Toyota Vios to crash into another row of parked cars. After the subsequent crash, the Toyota Vios came to a complete halt. Following this, the driver can be seen opening his door before the cam car drives past him. This has got to be what was on the driver's mind. The Aftermath Thankfully, it seems there was no one in the vehicles involved in the collision then, apart from the Toyota driver. Although it is unknown if the Toyota driver was hurt, no one else seems to be hurt from this chaotic incident. Here's to sending the Toyota driver some well-wishes. It is going to be rather traumatic for him. Netizens' Comments I am not surprised at all. 19. As drivers, I am sure we have met our fair share of annoying drivers on the road who switches between lanes either without due care or simply because of their indecisiveness. Here's a perfect example of an annoying driver that falls in both of these categories: Where And Who Were Involved? The accident happened along Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, just across Townsville Primary School. In total, two cars (a BMW X5 and a Hyundai Avante) and one motorcycle were involved in the accident. What Happened? Initially, the Hyundai Avante was travelling on the left-turn only lane. It then changed to the next lane, to be positioned right in front of the cam car. Wanting to filter left towards Bishan Road, the Hyundai driver decided to change back to the left-turn only lane after several cars passed by it. For unknown reasons, the Hyundai driver took his own sweet time to complete his lane change, and this was where tragedy struck. The BMW X5 who was travelling at a relatively fast speed, could not stop in time, causing it to smash into the side of the Hyundai Avante. Following this, a motorcycle travelling directly behind the BMW X5 also could not react in time, causing it to smash headfirst into the rear of the BMW SUV, literally. Looking at the image above, can I say that all the lane switching involved was entirely uncalled for? Regardless of which lane the Hyundai was in, he could eventually turn left if he had the patience. Kudos To The Biker Bro Despite receiving the brunt of the impact from rear-ending the BMW, the motorcyclist made an effort to check on the other parties involved in the chain collision. Good on him for that! Who's At Fault? This accident will undoubtedly pose a challenging case for the insurance companies involved to determine the party/parties at fault. Reading the comments, the public had mixed opinions on the party at fault, which included: (a) The Hyundai was at fault; (b) The BMW was at fault; (c) Both the Hyundai and BMW were at fault; and (d) All parties involved were at fault. What do you think? All matters aside, regardless of who is at fault, I wish all the parties involved a speedy recovery! Netizens' Comments This stereotyping is somehow relatable. Let this be a lesson learned. What a troll! ========= Receive a $10 PayNow for every submission we publish on Facebook! Simply WhatsApp us ➡️https://bit.ly/3c6JERA
  20. Transformers used to be every kid's dream toy back in the good old days – what's not to love when it's based an innovative combination between cars and robots? The driver of a prime mover seemed to be stuck in his dream as he re-enacted a scene you would probably see in a Transformers movie. What Happened? The cam car was driving along Kian Teck Avenue when he witnessed this horrifying accident between a prime mover and a lorry. Just as the cam car and lorry was passing by a junction, a prime mover emerged from Kian Teck Drive and smashed headfirst into the side of the lorry. The impact was so great that it caused the lorry to topple over to its side. Luckily, there seemed to be no passengers in the back of the lorry. Below is a clearer view of the accident location: It was clear as day that the prime mover driver disregarded the stop-line and assumed he had the right of way since he was travelling straight. Playing the Devil's Advocate? Nope, don't start on the "it is partly LTA's fault because they did not maintain the road signage which caused the stop-line to be faded". Regardless of how faded it is, the stop-line remains visible to any road user, and this suffices. The fault lies entirely on the prime mover driver. The Outcome of the Accident At this point, it remains unknown if anyone was seriously injured in this accident. Nonetheless, we wish anyone involved in this accident the best of health and a speedy recovery. Netizens' Comments Indeed. It has an uncanny resemblance to Transformers... There is a significant difference between being unable to stop in time and did not bother to stop. ======== Receive a $10 PayNow transfer for every submission we publish on Facebook! 21. ... If I told you that the occupant walk away from this pile of mass unharmed?! This beyond miracles!!! Ermm anyone wants to guess what model was this? Woman Somehow Walks Away From Folded Car In Shocking Semi-Truck Crash Incredible. No, scratch that. This is beyond incredible. We aren't talking about the severity of the crash, though it's not every day you see a car literally folded in half and crushed by a semi-truck. There was a woman in that car, and she's not dead. In fact, she crawled from the car with hardly any injuries at all. So yeah, what's beyond incredible? Whatever it is, that's what we're dealing with here. This crash happened the morning of November 16, on Interstate 5 in Mount Vernon, north of Seattle in Washington State. According to The Seattle Times, traffic was slowing down on the Skagit River Bridge when this Red Nissan was hit from behind by a semi-truck. There was also a semi in front of the car, and the collision caused the rear of the Nissan to fold over. The semi from behind came to a rest on top of the car. The report says a 46-year-old woman was inside, and looking at the pictures in the Twitter post above would have anyone thinking the worst. Washington State Trooper Rocky Oliphant took the photos and relayed information on Twitter, at first calling it a serious injury accident. But then the semi was lifted from the car, and Oliphant says the woman crawled out under her own power. She reportedly complained of minor pain in her head and ribs, and went to the hospital for further observation. We say it again ... beyond incredible. In his Twitter posts, Oliphant says he's never seen anything like this in 14 years on the job. In The Seattle Times report, he points out the manner in which the car folded could explain how the driver escaped serious injury. The back served as a buffer, protecting the passenger compartment while also giving the semi something of a ramp to slide on. While the crash certainly wasn't lucky, he goes on to call the driver the "luckiest unlucky person." Straight up, this crash is legit spooky. Obviously we're thrilled that the driver escaped with just minor injuries, but we keep coming back to one very basic, haunting question: How? Some would say this steps into the spiritual or supernatural realm, and you know what? Looking closely at these images, we wouldn't disagree. Stay safe out there everyone.
