Hi guys, The warranty for my IS200 will run out this end March. Thinking of going to outside workshops for servicing in the future. Any good recommendations? I am thinking of Lim Tan Motors. Have anyone else service there? Are they familiar with what needs to be done for each service intervals? Thinking of also changing my muffler to something more bassey. Perhaps a Fujitsubo? Anyone uses that? What's your opinions? Any idea what's the pros and cons of using aftermarket exhuast? Is it really LTA approved? Thanks for all the helP!!! -

Hi guys! Picked up this aftermarket air intake by Bomz racing for USD60 while in the US. Package included the filter. Have been running this for about a week. Fuel consumption increased a little from ~10km/l to 9km/l. Partly because of a lack of heat shielding and a little more "spirited" driving Removed the resonator while I was at it so now there's just an empty whole where it originally joined the airbox. Anyway, monitored the temperature yesterday and here are some figures: Highway driving at 80km/h: 37deg C Stops at traffic lights: 41 deg C Parked for 1 hour: 60 deg C Ambient temperature: 28-30 deg C (evening and morning time) Next step would be to add in some heatshiedling, insulate the intake pipe and add in ducting to channel cool air from under the bumper.

heard from someone cant claim insurance for aftermarket steering wheel (eg momo) if involved in an accident cause of the removal of the airbag, how true is this? any comments

Hi all. I am hoping to tap on the wisdom of modders in this forum. So any advice is welcome! I have a Black '99 MKII ford Mondeo. i) What's are the best (& most cost effective) ways to get better performance from my '99 MKII Mondeo? Short of installing a new engine. ii) I've done a couple of minor things. like K&N drop-in fiter, volt stabilizer, grounding cables. What else could I do? iii) How about bolt-on turbos? Are they available n do they work? How about piggy ECUs? Thanks in advance for all your advice. Cheers

Is there any universal mini remote that I can clip-on to the steering wheel? Or I must find one specifically meant for my HU? I'm currently using Kenwood DDX7035.

Jus ordered a set of HID from the group buy.. now have a qn... we shld understand that merc has this bulb sensor that will shows of the malfunction when the bulb is faulty. I heard from some workshops saying that there might be a possibility that the malfunction light would comes up when u install aftermarket HID as the wiring is connected to the opposite, where the current flows in the opposite direction. jus to verify that anyone got their merc fitted with after market HID, NOT those bi-xenon headlight, whether it works with after market HID or it doesn;t work. Another thot is the original bulb is still connected to the wiring, but the wiring is being cut open to tap the power from the switch of the lights for the HID and fitted it into the headlamp, and the original bulb will still be working, hidden inside the engine bay, would it work? Thanks.

Hi. Some mechanic upsell those aftermarket steel brake line to me lately. What is the use of that and any performance improvement in braking? Sound weird that a few steel tubes can do that? Anyone using that? and is there such thing as upmarket brake fluid? May I know of example of upmarket brake line and brake fluid? Thanks.

I have a question... understand that there are some progressive springs that can lower your ride between 30 to 35 mm using your original dampers. It is said that these springs would not reduce the lifespan of the shocks. How is this made possible? I thought a change of aftermarket springs would also require aftermarket dampers to work well together? The drop is said to deteriorate the original dampers at a much faster rate... or is this untrue for progressive springs? I am considering eibach progressive springs... thus, hoping to find out more before diving into the mod. Thanks.

I've decided to switch from stainless steel drop-in filter to aftermarket air intake. Any shop to recommend to do up aftermarket air intake? What are the rough prices I should be looking at to avoid being 'chopped'? Any pointers as to what I should be looking out for or what to avoid? Thanks and much appreciated. -
I've just got Page Guard PG8000S installed on my ride. It's a 2-way remote system with remote start. I need some feedback... 1. Warn Away / Shock Trigger - I can't seem to get this to be shown on the LCD remote. When the installer slapped hard on the windscreen, the Warn Away lights and sounds came on but nothing was shown on the LCD remote. After 24 hours, I repeated the action, no lights or sounds were activated at all now (Grrr!) Shake the car like mad, also no trigger. According to the remote, the Shock detection is ON. Previously, I had the main unit and the dual stage shock sensor replaced (Shock was somehow not working). 2. Assuming I want to get this problem fixed, can anyone recommend a Page Guard 'expert' installer? I don't mind paying as long it is configured correctly. Please advice me. Thanks.

For a car which just a so-called stock car alarm system (remote lock and unlock and siren warning of illegal entry if alarm is not deactivated), which aftermarket car alarm would be recommended? Not above $400 possible? What basic things should one look out for in such an aftermarket car security system?

hey guys anyone know how much to pump for an aftermarket tires example i just got BF G sport. so i heard mine friends say pump the air at night and can pump until 240 is it ok>>?? since performance tires can take higher presure?

For steering wheels, besides Autobaccs, Miki Marketing and Stamford, anywhere else has (read: cheaper)? What about boss kit? Different cars need different boss kit right? BTW, apart from originality and materials, any difference between original and replicas?

Hi Bros, 1. What is the noticeable benefit for changing to aftermarket exhaust system versus the stock one? I'm afraid that SS exhaust will compromise slient and comfort in the cabin. Are these exhaust system very noisy and attract unwanted attention? Can't exhaust system to made really slient? 2. I also need to find out whether super sprint is indeed the only exhaust system that is available for our ES5 here? Please advise me before I commit to this posion. Thank you very much. Regards,

My son has a Hynudai Accent 1.3m and is looking to install aftermarket ABS. These devices where popular in 90's. I remember Jackspeed; but who stocks and install them? Grateful for any information on this, thanks.

I'm contemplating if I should get the HID setup from Stamford Tyre. Its made in Korea, retailing at about $500. Alternatively would be the ever popular Philips bulbs at $60-$70 (crystal / diamond).

I need some advise on this. My new car will come with factory-fitted keyless entry. I am thinking of adding a car alarm to it. I wonder if I could still use back the factory remote control, and not those remote control that comes with the aftermarket alarm. My budget is <$150 for the car alarm system. Any recommendations?
