  1. Just received a call from my brother who borrowed my car this afternoon. My car was vandalised. Someone left a deep long scratch on my door to the tank. Just wash my car this morning. Pray to God, may this person injure his arm in an accident!!!
  2. OK been reading much on bird dropping and how the damage occurs. The bird's waste is acidic. When dried, it will penetrate THROUGH THE CLEAR AND INTO THE COLOR BASECOAT! Swirl mark removers can correct this feebly, you need to get the surface refinished by a professional. Check the pictures below: http://www.autoint.com/tips/bird_dropping.html The paid acts like a sponge and keeps the acid in there. Come rain, the acid is reactivated and eats more of the body! Slowly the hole becomes bigger and bigger. The acid must be neutralized first before any work can be attempted. The funny thing is that dead insects are also acidic! Their dead bodies are acidic as well and destroy car paintwork! No wonder I remember a time while I was in my bros car driving up north and when we came to a smokey area the bugs were flying out ramming into his car. He was screaming in pain all the way!

  5. To all Brothers ! PETROL PRICE UP BY $0.05 AGAIN !!! WEF TODAY !!!
  6. OK, from what I understand: 4-2-1 improves the driveability of the car for city traffic. Torque peaks at the lower RPMs making this possible. You might lose the high end and yet again, the high end might improve. 4-1 is nice if you rev your car really high. Torque peaks at the 3800-5000RPM band. Does the engine displacement play a part? Will a puny 999cc engine benefit with a 4-2-1 extractor? Note the words that I use. It is benefit and not improve. My driving style is the ecogreen style. Gear changes at 2.5k-2.8k RPM. At 4th (my final gear), I pull along up to 110-130 (4k RPM) when the JDM speed warning "ding-dong" kicks in (music to me )
  7. I know this topic has been discussed to death. Want to hear from all the forumers here abt their thoughts on DIY the fuel magnet thingy. I buy into the theory abt polarising the fuel molecules to one polarity and the air intake to another polarity. Since if I just use a south magnet to polarise the fuel, the fuel molecule that are not polarise are North right? I've abt a dozen HDD magnets lying around and infact installed some of them around my fuel line/ air intake in my car. The magnet is arrange in such a way that a pair of magnet is attracting each other. Magnet * Fuel Line * Magnet = N * Fuel Line * S = S * Fuel Line * N Same goes for the air inatke except its arrange in a ring around the intake hose. By arranging the magnet this way, does the fuel into N and S. So when they enter the combustion chamber, the fuel/air of different polarity will attract and result in better combustion. Of course, it maybe the fuel and air N and S will attract thus resulting in Nil. I know this is a little confusing but. I'm trying to achieve as much as possible with as little as possible $$$ spend. I guess, what I'm trying to say is : What is the cheapest, most econmomical way to achieve the best possible result with regard to this fuel magnet thingy. Thank you Keat..

  9. Ive just met up with a friend who just returned from uk who said that he has just seen the "new" facelift mondeo with subtle rounding of exterior.............. The biggest changes he claims are interior: better, softer , plusher interior plastics and mouldings where they have to meet the challenge of the new UK Accord. Prices will also be cut for the new facelift models. Also,in UK, standard 6 airbags and introdn of 6 speed durashift on higher end models. what intersted me the most was the introdn of a 5 sppeed auto gearbox with steering controls
  10. Michael Schumacher won yesterday's San Marino Grand Prix convincingly, only slowing down on the last lap after building a massive lead near the end. To his credit, he was driving at his best, hard-charging and unrelenting, and kept his composure despite just leaving his mother's bedside where she passed away Sunday morning. Teamate Rubens Barrichello finished third in what must be Ferrari's sigh of relief after a near-disastrous start to the 2003 season. Of course, he might still be frystrated that he couldn't unstick McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen from 2nd, despite pushing him at the end. The McLaren team did well to use a 2 stop strategy (as opposed to Ferrari and Williams' 3 stop) to make up for Imola's lack of overtaking oppotunities (only three proper moves during the entire race), as well as their cars' shortfall in all-out speed. Which leaves the new Flying Finn still 14 points ahead of Schumi in overall standings. With the new points system being what it is, MS could finish 1st in the next 7 races (with Kimi 2nd), and still only draw level with the young Merc driver. Here's a season that rewards consistency, and Kimi's the guy who's got it at the moment, standing on the podium in all four races so far. He's my man!
  11. Apparently Saab needs to increase it's volume, and soon, if it's going to be spared the chop from parent GM. After spending about S$1b on the Swedish subsidiary last year, the US-based giant expects some results by 2004, otherwise Saab faces a merger, or even worse, being sold off or liquidated. Bob Lutz, GM's product chief, explains it this way: "Of course we could keep on treating Saab like a protected species that builds very cute and very Swedish cars, but unfortunately they can't build enough of them." Looks like he doesn't understand the non-US market, but numbers speak louder than quirkiness, I guess. Almost as proof of GM's bad handling of the Scandinavian brand, it's upcoming made-for-US-only 9-2 is going to be based heavily on the Subaru Impreza, something neither company is happy with. Subaru understandably doesn't want to give away it's hard-earned chassis to a potential competitor, while Saab says the Impreza's longitutinally-mounted boxer engine and AWD is incompatible with its own transverse FWD layout. Hoo boy, can't GM learn from Ford and its Volvo helmsmanship?
  12. Citroen team boss Guy Frequelin has said Carlos Sainz's victory on the Rally of Turkey is even better than the team's debut win in Corsica in 2001. Jesus Puras scored the French team's maiden win on the island's notorious twisty tarmac, but Frequelin says Sainz's win on Turkey's gravel is more important for the team's future.
  13. With 20 years of experience, Hyundai has definitely improved overall and became one of the best of Korean car manufacturers. Those who own one please vote whether you want one again.
  14. I had EGR problem in the past.. and it happens every 1-2 month or so. The engine light come on, and I checked the ECU codes and it'll always say EGR solenoid and valve problem. Then the light will stay off.. However, this time I was driving on when the check engine light comes on... Suddenly, I feel a surge of power!!! Its like added 20 lbs of torque! Definitely on the lower RPM. EGR = Engine Gas Recirculation.. It'll recirculate some exhausts back into the intake for environmental purposes... I guess the EGR malfunctioned on the close position.. now no exhaust gas is going back to the intake, and wow.. More power for me!
