  1. If over fill engine oil.. is there a way to drain some of it out? if aircon compressor is becoming weak? is replacing with a new one the only option?
  2. This 2 day my aircon not cold again.. only blow hot air  even through i had change my air-con filter and top up gases 2 time within 6month. went to workshop was told that likely coolant coil leakage must change together with the valve original swift spart cost at least $478 (excluding labour) and for OEM at least $168 (excluding labour) is this the reasonable cost? anyone use OEM for swift before? any side effect? after driving 4 yrs for my car, now all the problem start coming out already spend more than $1.5 for past 6month for replacement.
  3. Check with you guys, does anyone here use those vertical casement aircon at your home? (ACE, Carrier, Sanyo,Techno) I wanted to know if my sliding window got 2 piece, when I installed the aircon, can both panel fully slide behind the aircon when the aircon is not in use and I want to access the window? Thanks.
  4. Is it normal ? Just completed my 40k servicing with BM. What can be the possible causes ?
  5. Deciding on Europace and Sanyo Casement unit aircon. Any bros/sis here care to share their reviews?
  6. Hi guys, My aircon sometimes emits musty odour. It happens in a very short moment and then disappear. Sometimes strong but mostly mild musty smell.... Any idea what is the problem?
  7. [extract] On a Saturday afternoon, I was on the way to attend my friend
  8. It a bottle where the contents are released with the car aircon running and supposedly kills the source of the odors coming. Looks easy to use. Cost about $30+ at autobacs. Anyone can vouch for its effectiveness ?
  9. Car air con not very cold, so thought of getting it serviced. Called one of the more reputable company and was quoted more than $250 just to service my car's aircon? Seems a little too ex. What is the normal market rate? Experts pls advice.
  10. a few months ago, one of the aircon vents keep getting blocked, and the air that comes out of all vents is very dusty. after some time, the blockage went away, even though there's still alot of dust inside the system. it still occasionally gives out hot air, but the air is generally cooling enough. now, my old man's car aircon totally collapsed. All hot air and dust. And the aircon has developed a whirring sound since yesterday, which varies with engine speed but goes away with the A/C switched off. And recently when he wanted to take out the aircon filter to blow, he realised the filter is not inside since purchasing the 2nd hand car one yr ago. what have gone wrong?
  11. Any idea where can I buy the Aircon Filter?
  12. my flat is located on the 20th floor, & for years, the aircon servicing people I had been calling had told me it is impossible to clean my outdoor condensing unit unless it rain coz my unit too high floor. my mum unit is on the 7th floor and they have no problem servicing the outdoor condensing unit as they can just go to the few units below and knock on their door telling them to close window and keep their clothes hanging outside. anybody also facing the same issue? meaning we can only service the indoor fan coil unit.
  13. Hello all, Am looking for the air con cluster for Corolla G9 to replace. (see attached) Anyone got lobang ? Coz my aircon switch spoil oredi, only can turn down fan speed and no response for turning up . During hot day, sibei frustrated !
  14. Went servicing today, guy was kind enough to check my aircon filter for me. Saw some leaves on the filter, didn't think too much about it. On the way home, heard some rustling sound coming from the aircon filter area, decided to open up and check again. Took out the filter. To my shock, this is what I see. Park under trees everyday, once in a while will circulate outside air, but didn't know so much could have entered the aircon system. Luckily got aircon filter, but after I took out the filter, some has dropped onto the fan below (could feel it). Tried to clear everything as much as I could, including vacuuming, but think small particles have already went in. Junk on the ground: Wonder if aircon will be damaged from such junk? Or maybe some will blown out from the aircon vents! One more look:
  15. ...starts blowing hot air (literally) while smelling of some metallic-tinged rotten fish, first, turn off your aircon. Chances are what you're inhaling is the refrigerant that's somehow leaking into the aircon system. Which, incidentally, is rather unhealthy, to say the least. Mine did, recently, and the cause was traced to a corroded cooling coil that had to be replaced. Got the job done (removed, replaced all within 4 hours - coil comes with a 1 year warranty) by one chirpy Peter Seat (interestingly enough) who also fixed back my glovebox a whole lot better than the now-defunct dealer ever could. Well, here's something Fluffy won't be encountering in his car.
  16. [extract] The recent mornings have been extra cooling due to the rain. Hence, there was one morning when I decided to give my car
  17. Dear bros and sis, my air conditioning systems just broke down. Can someone please tell me where i can get people to fix it during this festive season? I need the aircon badly, because my wife just gave birth yesterday, and according to customs, she is not allowed to use the fan. The aircon was okay the day before, and it had to break down now. thanks in advance...
  18. looking for a aircon servicing company, does anyone has any recommendation for a good and reliable one to recommend. thinking of signing up on a maintenance contract basis meaning on a quarterly basis. thanks.
  19. Just returned from KL, and aircon turn to sauna during drive on NS highway back...But when engine cool down, aircon was ok with cold air coming out, any idea what could be wrong?
  20. Other than Kah Motor, any body knows of places that sells Honda City '09 (G5) Air filter and Aircon filter? I went Autobac and was quoted $70 for "original" air filter. For Air con filter, they are not too sure if it is the same as jazz, wanted to take mine out for comparison.
  21. MCF bros, Just curious and want to know, during raining days when temperature outside is like cold 25'C.. what is the car aircon temp that you use? my frd said, just push it to 27... another said maintain at 25, but it will be dame cold right? esp there are kids in the car. any thoughts or unique practises that can share?
  22. This is how mine looked when it was replaced this afternoon during servicing. Replaced it with a 3M one.
  23. anyone knows what compounds are in those water coming out from aircon units? if it safe to use for washing or watering the plants? any poison in there?
  24. So where is the rear aircon filter located, or why no filter? Recently, I had to open up part of rear interior so some works, and found the rear aircon unit. There are some dust on the blower vanes, the coil is still clean for my 2.5 yr car. So I started to look for inlet to the blower. And for my Estima, it was at the right rear small storage compartment, hiden under the top of the compartment It is also a good concealed place to add in a sponge filter or something alike. I guess I will do that. At least to keep the blower/rear aircon cleane and improve air quality. What about other brands and models.
  25. Anyone know the est cost of home aircon PCB replacement? I am on Toshiba system 4 inverter. Tks!
