  1. DENVER - USA - A full body scanner operator was caught masturbating during a scanning session by airport staff late Tuesday. Airport officials at Denver International airport were on high alert yesterday when a full body scanner operator was caught masturbating in his booth as a team of High School netball players went through the scanner. "The young ladies were going through the scanner one by one, and every time one went through, this guys face was getting redder and redder. His hand was moving and then he started sweating. He was then seen doing his 'O' face. That's when the security dragged him out of his booth and cuffed him. He had his pants round his ankles and everybody was really disgusted," Jeb Rather, a passenger on a flight to New York told CBS news. The controversial scanners display every minute detail of a person's body and have been called intrusive by privacy campaigners. Body scanners penetrate clothing to provide a highly detailed image so accurate that critics have likened it to a virtual porn shoot. Technologies vary, with millimeter wave systems capturing highly detailed pictures of genitals, and backscatter X-ray machines able to show precise anatomical detail. The U.S. government likes the idea because body scanners can detect concealed weapons better than traditional magnetometers. "What do you want to do, get blown up by a goddamn Arab at 30,000 feet or we get to see your private parts? It's up to you, the ball's in your park," head of the TSA's scanning department, Rodney Schroeder, told CNN. http://www.dailysquib.co.uk/?c=124&a=2389

  4. I go home every evening and find a jam at the KPE entrance from airport road. Some crazy idiot put a traffic light there which toggles every second when there is a car coming out from the airbase. It is because that idiot put sensors in the ground to detect traffic on the main road, the small road from the airbase, BUT FORGOT to put sensor on the lane going into the KPE.... So basically, although there is a huge jam of cars waiting to get into KPE, the traffic light doesn't know and turns red the moment a car appears from the airbase..... To make matters worse, there is NO NEED for a traffic light on the slip road leading to KPE as the cars from the airbase cannot turn into the slip road... So basically, all of us is waiting for nothing. So there is a long queue of cars trying to get into KPE every evening. I have called LTA last month and until now still like that. Anyone have any ideas? LTA number: 1800 - 2255 582 maybe if more people call, someone will fix the problem.

  12. Just a quick check with the bros here, since I don't take cab often. Recently, when I came back from overseas, I took a cab back from the airport. The attendant for the cab line directed me to a Merc cab, despite my stating clearly that I only needed a "normal" blue Comfort cab since I had only one bag (there were ordinary Comfort cabs waiting in the bay). When I asked if the fare was the same, he said yes. This answer was repeated by the Merc cabby before I got in. Anyway, the journey via Merc cab cost more than 30 bucks to Bukit Timah. Don't remember Comfort cab trips costing this much; then again, my memory for this sort of detail is not great. So, is the Merc cab more expensive than a normal Comfort taxi - and have I been "conned"? Thanks in advance.

  15. BBC Tourists warned of Thailand airport scam By Jonathan Head BBC News, Bangkok Bangkok's showcase new international airport is no stranger to controversy. Built between 2002 and 2006, under the governments of then-Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, the opening date was repeatedly delayed. It has been dogged by allegations of corruption, as well as criticism of the design and poor quality of construction. Then, at the end of last year, the airport was shut down for a week after being occupied by anti-government protesters. Now new allegations have been made that a number of passengers are being detained every month in the duty free area on suspicion of shoplifting, and then held by the police until they pay large sums of money to buy their freedom. That is what happened to Stephen Ingram and Xi Lin, two IT experts from Cambridge, as they were about to board their flight to London on the night of 25 April this year. They had been browsing in the duty free shop at the airport, and were later approached by security guards, who twice asked to search their bags. Mr Ingram and Ms Xi were told they had to pay
  16. Used to eat this almost everyday few yrs ago, as I like the noodles very much and it's near my camp. It has an electronic signboard which will flash your number when it's your order. Recently went back to try, stall seem renovated and the mee is cooked by a young lad. Don't see the uncle that used to cook around anymore too. Any bros tried the b4 and after version too and find that the standard dropped? Or I'm just plain unlucky and it happened to be the 'son' (not sure if he is) cooking that day.
  17. 2 pilots dead. Hope they rest in peace. http://www.asiaone.com/Travel/News/Story/A...323-130314.html Mon, Mar 23, 2009 AFP Two killed in cargo plane crash at Tokyo airport >TOKYO, March 23, 2009 - A FedEx cargo plane en route from China crashed in high winds and exploded in a ball of flames Monday at Tokyo's Narita airport, killing both pilots, according to Japanese hospital officials. The pair, both US citizens, were reportedly the only two people aboard the American parcel delivery company's wide-body McDonnell Douglas MD-11, which was flying in from Guangzhou in southern China. It was the first-ever fatal accident at Narita, Japan's biggest airport, the government said, and reportedly the country's first since 1996, when three people died in a Garuda Indonesia accident at Fukuoka Airport. It was not immediately known what caused the crash, but the meteorological agency said strong gusts were blowing and that it had on Sunday night warned airlines of wind shear - a dangerous condition for planes coming in to land. Television footage showed FedEx Flight 80 touching down about 6:50 am (2150 GMT Sunday). The rear wheels hit the tarmac before the aircraft's nose slammed into the runway and the plane sharply bounced onto its left wing. The jet immediately exploded into a ball of flames and skidded at high speed while billowing a large plume of black smoke, before flipping onto its left side and coming to a halt off the side of the runway. Fire engines and scores of firefighters in silver suits rushed to the gutted aircraft, which came to rest upside down, with orange flames still shooting out of its fuselage, to douse the fire with foam. A male witness told TV Asahi that he saw that the aircraft "bounced twice and fell onto its left side. Immediately after that, a fire broke out." Public broadcaster NHK said the pilot was 54 years old and the co-pilot was 49, and that both were US nationals. "We confirm the deaths of the two pilots," Katsuji Komiyama, an official at Narita Red Cross hospital told AFP. Winds as strong as 72 kilometers (45 miles) per hour were registered around the airport at the time of the crash, the meteorological agency said. It said it had notified airlines late Sunday of the risk of wind shear, a condition when wind speed and direction suddenly change. A male witness told TV Asahi that "the wind was quite strong, stronger than ordinary typhoons" at the time of the crash. However, Masaaki Kai, head of general affairs at the Transport Ministry, said no wind shear warning was received early Monday and also cast doubt on the idea that strong cross winds may have caused the crash. "We are currently investigating the direct cause of the accident, and we don't know whether it is related to turbulent winds," he said. "Side winds are not believed to have posed a problem to the plane. Winds were blowing diagonally to the aircraft, but normally we do not think that a strong headwind immediately poses a threat to a plane." FedEx spokeswoman Emiko Ogami told AFP: "The cause of the accident is still unknown. We are cooperating with Japanese aviation authorities to investigate the accident." The crash closed down Runway A, the longer of Narita's two main runways. Airport officials said the crash would cause flight cancellations and delays, and that scores of flights had been diverted elsewhere, including Haneda airport closer to Tokyo. Japan Airlines said at least 27 of its flights had been cancelled and 6,690 passengers were affected by the crash. All Nippon Airways said three flights had been cancelled with eight others scheduled later in the day also likely to be cut. Late last month 47 passengers and crew were injured when a Northwest Airlines Boeing 747 hit turbulence near Narita. Turbulence again injured two crew over Japan in early March aboard an Air France Boeing 777. -AFP
  18. Do not leave your vehicle unattended. Went airport to see a friend goodbye and i went in for less than a min. After i came out, 2 cisco officers warned me not to leave it unattended as airport has high security. Btw, its at terminal 2. They dont seem to have that strict security at T2 arrival hall though. Few mths ago, I still could go to toilet and come out. I wonder what if someone is really urgent then how? Pee infront of the guy?
  19. Hi there, what happened? so long jam coz i see from my hdb side....
  20. anyone today kenah the jam at PIE -> CHANGI AIRPORT at exactly 5.45pm just before the BKE exit? I was a few cars behind the DARK GREEN W210 MERCEDES BENZ who freaking broke down on lane 2 right in the middle of the peak hour jam, creating a even jammer jam. well done u cockster, u even tried to filter to lane 3 with no power and hazard light on, luckily your car stopped before u could enter lane 3, because then u will be farking blocking lane 2 AND 3 in fact i have never seen W124 MERCEDES E CLASS ever break down before. no money drive merc dont force yourself drive such an old merc. rather u use the money get a new jap car. i never realise the importance of reliability until today, when i can feel the frustration of all the drivers just trying to GET HOME. no one like to be stuck in jam, everyone wants to go home, to eat their dinner, to play with their children, to hug their wifey, to feed their pets. i will service my car regularly so that i will never break down during peak hour and delay the lives of all the other road users just trying to get home to rest after a long day at work. i pledge to do everything within my effort never to contribute to traffic jams.
