Want to install a good alarm that retains the use of an immobilizer... anyone using that? Also, I intend to install the rear view reverse camera on my MPV, can it tap on the screen of DVD HU? Approx how much and what brands are good? Thanks.

Good Day guys... u guys got any ideas where n how much is the price for the Alarm blinker..?? it is not an alarm,its jus an indicator blinker that all....in fact,still can customized ur wordings.....anyway jus 1 2 noe the damage for the normal 1,which is- (warning alarm armed)...tanx in advance... c below...

My alarm played up recently... it is f&*ked... out of sudden alarm sounded... even cannot deactivate... so sorry caused so much nuisance... I decided to remove this tumour.. anyone have very good experience with certain alarm system ? can recommend me ? installer as well...

Where do you normally installed your car alarm reset switch and blinking LED? I got my STW 800 today and will be installing it next Tue on my Toyota WISH, any input will be great. FYI, I also got a dummy switch to be install... He He He..... Pls PM me where is the BEST place to hid the "REAL" reset switch. Thanks....

donno whether this goes into ICE or other sub-forums, since strangely car alarms are lumped under ICE in some categories! (alarm very entertaining meh?) i noticed that cheapo alarms tend to spoil like within 2 years. is there some known cheap brand but is quite reliable, long lasting? the alarm feature isn't important since any proper car robber should be able to disable it. i suppose we buy cheap alarms more to use as a remote locking function.

last few days , when i press the button to lock the car ,, Very fun the alarm is armed but the door is not LOCKed!!!! check whether the central locking is spoilt or not , but still can lock with my Keys..... just thinking back how long I had not been locking the car !!!!!

hi if i buy a 2nd hand car do i need to change the alarm by the previous owner? in case he has the spare alarm?

My old swift's alarm is going . When it doesn't work, central lock will not work too. Got to bang the dashboard and occassionally it will come back to life. A lose wire? Any cheap place I can go and check up alarms?

I am driving a Getz and am thinking of changing my car alarm system. Most important criterion is that the range of the remote search function must be good (more than 100 metres) because my stock alarm is terrible at this. Preferably 2-way alarm but don't need remote start, timer and other sophisticated function. Can anyone recommend any brand/model of car alarm which is reliable? Checked out Crimestopper and Pageguard but seems like both have very limited range (less than 50metres). Apparently, their range is purposely limited to prevent people from 'stealing' the signal from a distance.

I've just got Page Guard PG8000S installed on my ride. It's a 2-way remote system with remote start. I need some feedback... 1. Warn Away / Shock Trigger - I can't seem to get this to be shown on the LCD remote. When the installer slapped hard on the windscreen, the Warn Away lights and sounds came on but nothing was shown on the LCD remote. After 24 hours, I repeated the action, no lights or sounds were activated at all now (Grrr!) Shake the car like mad, also no trigger. According to the remote, the Shock detection is ON. Previously, I had the main unit and the dual stage shock sensor replaced (Shock was somehow not working). 2. Assuming I want to get this problem fixed, can anyone recommend a Page Guard 'expert' installer? I don't mind paying as long it is configured correctly. Please advice me. Thanks.

Hi there, Any suggestion on where to repair faulty car alarm? Mine was Crimestopper and was installed 3 years ago by a car accessory shop outside my house. In January I parked my car in the camp while doing ICT and everyday was damn heavy rain. I suspect water had seeped into my car alarm and it just sounded off without reason. I can't stop it. Sometimes it's ok but sometimes it just sounded off for no reason. The accessory shop is not willing to check for me as it didn't sound off when I was there. So any place to recommend? I hope not to reinstall a new one that will costs me quite alot. Thanks.

hey all, am thinking of installing a 2 way alarm for my new Matrix. Just wondering where provide such alarms and of reasonable service? Am looking at Pageguard or Crimestopper. But heard that Pageguard P6000 or something, the remote got problems. Is that true? Appreciate any feedback. thanks.

heehee i fitted with new alarm system for my ES5 (stupid car with no alarm (stock)) after my car has been broke into... Generally i quite happy with it... Ooo with automatic arming and un arming... that mean i walk to the car... it will unlock by itself... and if i walk away.. it will arm by itself.. hahahaha good leh.... i bought it in yahoo auction... cheaper than the shop quote me n trying to con me... to buy this and that... sucks... nearly half the price differences

Yesterday I got nothing better to do. Therefore I decided to take out my car alarm installation guide and have a quick glance thru ... Hmmm, I realise my alarm system (Black Widow) has horn honking function when the alarm tripped, so I pick up some excess wires I kept in my shoe box, a digital meter and happily went to the car park to do the mod. Less then 20mins to get everything done including hunting for the horn -ve line. :) Now whenever the the alarm trips, siren and horn will go off together - REALLY DAMN LOUD!

Hey guys anyone know how to disarm the horning (alarm) sound of the carmy. it horn once to lock and horn twice to unlock very noisy... want it to be silent... read the mannul but cannot disarm it lei, anyone got experience in it?

My car comes with the immobiliser which is on the key. Its not a separate remote. When I lock or unlock the car, the only indication is the signal lights blinks. Its not very convenient especially when both my wife and I uses the car. So sometimes after I park the car and my wife picks it up, she needs to search for it if I forget which floor. I'm wondering if its possible to install a siren/alarm and tap the signal to the lights. Hence when the lights blinks, the alarm also beeps. Any suggestions if this is possible and where can I do this? Thanks.

wonder wht is the better car alarm for a small car?? my friends had her car rob in a hotel and so did other cars as well...........i read a few other earlier post on group buys on car alarms or is there one average prices?? or other brands like crime stopper, viper etc..............???

Guys, just to check with the guru here. Was provided with the Car Alarm (stock by C&C brand is conceal) nad not sure of the central locking capability. It is not brake activate by rather after starting the engine for a brief moment. Do any of you know whre is the web could I obtain info on the operation of the alarm system. do any could advise how the system works. Thanks.

I need some advise on this. My new car will come with factory-fitted keyless entry. I am thinking of adding a car alarm to it. I wonder if I could still use back the factory remote control, and not those remote control that comes with the aftermarket alarm. My budget is <$150 for the car alarm system. Any recommendations?

Hi all, Will be collecting the keys to my first car this weekend. As the car doesn't come with any alarm system. Would like to seek some advice.... Just need a alarm system with immobilizer and power door lock and basic functions. Budget is below $200.00 Can recommend the place and brand to get such alarm systems? Pls advice. Thks.

My ride comes with central lock and immobilisor. If gonna install 2-way alarm with remote start, i might need additional by-pass kit and back-up keys. What exactly is by-pass kit?? Does it mean that my existing immobilisor will be useless after fixing the alarm or what?? Blur Blur......

Outside SGP, modes of stealing your car. - tow-truck - knifepoint rob your keys - crash into your car, whack you up and drive off in your car Usefulness of car alarm - finding your car in MSCP if you have forgotten where you park - frighten the stray loitering around your car if you are afraid to shoo them away What do you think? Car-Alarm useful? Like to hear your views cos the above is only my personal view.

Hi Bros My car alarm and now there isn't any more sound produced whenever the door is locked and unlocked. I even test to press car alarm on the remote control. It also fail to sound off. Any idea what is wrong with it? Where can I have it checked? But :The indicator lights still light up when the remote is used. Pls help? Thank in advance
